The teenager was mentally ill and had stopped her medical treatment but her father could not accept her death as suicide. It lasts 94 minutes.

The company's CEO's are some of his old war comrades but now they need to clean every obstacle away that before they can lounge Operation Phoenix. Norway has banned the sale of of them. Therefore, they blow themselves up so they can re-emerge in Hungary, which has not banned cluster bombs. The mission is called "Operation Phoenix". Varg Veum needs to travel to Hungary to prevent "Operation Phoenix". It lasts for 86 minutes.
- [season 2, episode 5]: "De døde har det godt.": Dead and/or abused illegal immigrants seeking refuge in Norway are not considered to human but only an excellent opportunity for making good money by a civilized society full of respectable citizen who are to occupied with being respectable to notice what it feels like to try surviving and often dying on the beneath the limits of respectability. It lasts 86 minutes and is not based on a book but only on the characters from the books.
- [season 2, episode 6]: "Kalde hjerter." (original book title: "Kalde hjerter") Varg Veum works on a case about drug trafficking in a prison. That has a direct link to his search for a missing sister and her hidden and also missing brother, since he was one of the involved parties in the drug trafficking until he escaped prison. Varg Veum and Hamre discover cats hung around the city. Hamre tells Varg that there has been more reports from old ladies who lost their cats. The dead cats eerily mimic victims of the Norwegian tradition "hitting the cat out of the barrel", where a barrel is hit until the bottom falls out. However, in this unsettling twist it seems as if the cats have been removed from their barrels and then hung up around town. Varg Veum becomes a father. It lasts 87 minutes.
