- Sunil Mehta gets stuck in a giant ferris wheel with an attractive young woman all night due to power failure. Amit agrees to do so, and everything goes according to plan - until a real and amorous Champak Boomia shows up - resulting in hilarious chaos.

- Thakur Chandrabhan lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small village in India. Also living in this household is Bholanath, who is blind since birth, and helps with household chores. Chandrabhan does not have this much money, but Bholanath has been stashing away cash, that is guarded by a snake, and offers all of it to Pratap, who accepts it and absconds. Blind Bhola is unable to pursue him, but is instead bitten by the snake, regains his vision and sets forth to Bombay to locate Pratap. Several weeks later, Bholanath returns home, just in time to be told that he must marry Tara, as she refuses to marry anyone else. Tara notices something very odd about Bholanath as he calls her "Tara', not as "Little Mistress" as he used to; he is terrified of snakes; and seems more cultured and educated. The family decides to get the two engaged, however, the ceremony is interrupted by the arrival of the police, who have an arrest warrant for Bholanath for Theft, and Murder of a young woman named Lucy. The question remains, what was Bholanath up to in Bombay, whose money did he steal, and why did he end up killing Lucy?

Through Shera Rakesh is able to locate Poppy's hide-out which is in an old mountain cave. Unfortunately before he could take action on Poppy Singh Shera is abducted by Poppy's men. Ironically Poppy's business has developed into cocaine over the years whereby Shera and all Poppy's hostages are forced to work as slaves. In order to rescue Shera and to avenge the death of his dad at an appropriate time Rakesh is forced to work for Poppy Singh by gaining his trust and by enlisting himself as a member of the gang.
- During a jail riot instigated by convict Jaggu (Joginder), the Jailer, Arun Mehra's (Dev Anand) life is threatened and another convict, Dinesh (Satish Kaul), risks his life to save Arun. Arun and his mother, Mrs. Mehra (Sulochana) find out that Dinesh is on death-row for killing noted Professor Ashok Verma. Arun does not believe that Dinesh is guilty and so he arranges his escape from prison. As a result Arun has not only the police, including his own father, Inspector General of Police Mehra (Pran) after him on a manhunt but also underworld don Master (Ajit) and his men; and a cold-hearted female assassin (Zeenat Aman) who has reserved two bullets in her gun for Arun and Dinesh.

Years later, his past comes to haunt him in the shape and form of Shyama's relatives, and Ranibala's suitor, Manmohan, who will not leave any stone unturned to blackmail Gopalnath for the rest of his life.
- Police inspector Ajay Sharma lives a wealthy life-style with his wife Asha and two school-going children. Persistent warnings from his superiors and seniors forces him to resign from his police job. After resigning he relocates with his family to a rural region to assist his elderly parents in their lumber business. But when he visits a casino with his friend Albert, he is appalled at the way the owners treat customers, and decides to take a stand by revolting against this injustice. By doing so, he and his family are made target by smugglers and gangsters.

Lajjo awaits his return, but he does not return, the villagers taunt her, beat her senseless, she loses her eyesight, is abducted and sold into prostitution. Then one day she gets an unexpected patron, none other Dr. Paras, who is now engaged to Dr. Sinha's daughter, neurologist Manju, and would like to assist Lajjo is getting her sight back. The question is will Lajjo accept any help from a man who betrayed her, and is directly responsible for her present plight?

- Amar lives a poor lifestyle with his widowed mom in India, he is unemployed, does not make enough effort to find a job, and spends most of his time with his sweetheart, Rinku Dayal. When his mom finds out that he has been writing love letters, she asks him to introduce his girlfriend, which he does. She approves of Rinku and would like both of them to get married, she also warns Rinku that Amar is fated to die under water and must keep away from all lakes, rivers, and swimming pools at all costs, as he cannot swim. Then a few days later, Amar accidentally falls down in a river, is swept through a waterfall and is believed to be dead. His shocked and devastated mom loses her sanity, and keeps on hoping that Amar will return one day. Then six months later, Amar does return home to his overjoyed mom, and is anxious to go to Rinku and tell her the good news. It is then his mom informs him that Rinku has married Ajit Verma, her dad's boss, shortly after she found out that Amar had drowned. A shocked Amar must now find out why his sweetheart chose to marry a wealthy man, and it is here he will find out that his falling in the river was not an accident but he was the victim of a conspiracy against him.

Friends always remark on the couple's parenting skills. Rebellion sets in among the now adult children, and the once loving and well knit family are estranged. What brings them all together again? Will the reunion bring them joy or grief?
- Raj likes to gamble and place bets about virtually anything, including befriend an attractive woman, Pinky, and pretending to her brother, while carrying on his romance with his sweetheart, Sapna Singh. The second time Raj sees Pinky is in a coffin being carried to her grave, while he consoles her dad, someone shoots him dead, leaving Raj to take the blame. The third time he sees Pinky singing and dancing at a New Year's Party; the 4th time he sees her posing in a photograph with Sapna; and the 5th time he is introduced to a very much alive Pinky by Sapna, where she refuses to recognize him, and shortly thereafter she is found dead in Sapna's house; and the 6th time both Sapna and he find her lifeless body hanging from the ceiling. As this mystery deepens, the Police want to question Raj about the two deaths - while Raj himself keeps on getting deeper and deeper in a mystery that may well end up taking his very own life.
- Akbar lives with his widowed mother in a small shanty hut. One day, his mother finds two young orphans, Ram and Laxman, and brings them home. Years later, Akbar, Ram and Laxman have grown up. While Ram has fallen in love with Radha, Laxman's sweetheart is Jenny, a pickpocket and petty thief. One day they come across a blind woman, and come to her assistance. They find out that she is their long-lost mother, who was blinded by a man named Ajit Singh, who also killed their father. Ram and Laxman decide to seek vengeance against Ajit Singh, but before they could do so, Akbar's mother and their mother are abducted, and it looks like Ajit is all set to send the rest of the family to their deaths.
- Widowed by his wife's sudden passing, Superintendent of Police Choudhry brings up his son Rajesh on his own, teaches him all known good values, and when he grows up sends him to College in Bombay, and remits money to him regularly. Choudhry would like to transfer to Bombay Police, so that he can be close to his son, then one day out of the blue, his transfer is approved, and a delighted Choudhry writes to his son to fetch him from the railway station. Upon arrival in Bombay, he does not find his son at the Railway Station, but when browsing through a newspaper he sees his son's photograph--wanted for the murder of a card-sharp. Shocked and dismayed, Choudhry attempts to piece his life together and attempts to find Rajesh before the City Police do--for he may well face the death sentence. Choudhry does find him, but only after Rajesh is accused of killing a woman named Kishori, and this time Choudhry is quite sure that there is no hope for Rajesh.
- Yogita reminds us of Rekha in many scenes. She is a pretty adolescent daughter of a middle class family. She has a continued affair for a short time with her own Gardner starting on a stormy night. He dies suddenly in a freak accident leaving her emotionally scarred. This is carried by her for a long time. She refuses to befriend or marry any man . She meets many men like Sujit Kumar who try to exploit her after befriending her. Anil Dhawan , her psychiatrist slowly understands her and supports her. They marry in the end after over coming all problems. Yogita is perfect as the innocent gullible college girl. Anil is likable in any role , as a confused lover, as a confident psychiatrist - even when he is sizzling , dancing , prancing with his former girl friends by a roaring fire side. Kabir Bedi with his great height and figure is aptly cast in his small role as the Gardner. he has no dialogues but speaks with his eyes . Over all , a very relevant movie even today .
- Ajay Verma is a major in the Indian army, and is principled, dedicated, and honest. His family has arranged his marriage with beautiful Sheetal, and both are to be married soon. Shortly before their marriage, Pakistan declares war and attacks India, and Ajay and all other soldiers are recalled to duty. Ajay meets with an old friend, Sunil, on the warfront. During a quiet break they talk about life at home, and Ajay's forthcoming marriage. Then Sunil is wounded, and brought in the barracks. Ajay goes through his belongings, and gets a shock when he sees Sheetal's photograph in Sunil's wallet.
- Thakur is a rich and wealthy man. He has two sons, the elder is Ram, who is married but frequents a prostitute Munnibai. The second son is Bharat, who is unmarried, and is good, virtuous, and devoted to his family, and expected to marry Roopa. While disciplining his elder son, Thakur has a heart-attack and passes away, leaving the administration of the estate to his younger son and daughter-in-law, the wife of Ram, Gayetri. This does not auger well with Ram and Mamaji, and they attempt to force Bharat to sign the estate over to them. When they fail, they conspire to kill him, and take over the estate from Gayetri. Bharat overhears this, and goes along with Ram's plan to kill him. He then returns as Daku Mangal Singh, his look-alike, in order to set things right. Things seem to be going well, until Bharat finds himself in a tight corner when he is accused of killing himself.
- Manoharlal and his wife Shanti lose their son Raja in a train accident. He is saved by an elephant and taken to a circus. A girl named Rita tries to lure Raja but fails and gets Ranjeet to kidnap him.
- Rukmani gets married to Rana and faces endless abuse and beatings which do not end even when she gets pregnant. The Police arrest Rana for Robbery, try him in Court and sentence him to several years in prison, leaving Rukmani alone to give birth to a boy named Preetam, entrust him to the care of her brother, Thakur, and his wife, and passes away. The Thakurs undertake to look after Preetam as their own even after they become parents of a boy, Anil. Rana breaks out of prison and confronts Thakur, who tells him that both his wife and son are dead. When Rana demands 25000 Rupees, Mrs. Thakur summons the police, who arrive, arrest him, and take him back to complete his sentence. Years later Preetam and Anil have grown up like brothers. Preetam's marriage is being finalized with Sharan, the daughter of Rukmani and Judge B.N. Sinha, while Anil wants to get married to his sweetheart, Sarita. The engagement of the couples takes place, and shortly thereafter the Thakurs gets the news that Anil has been killed in an automobile accident. Sarita comes forward and admits that she is pregnant with Anil's child, forcing the Thakurs to compel Preetam to get married to Sarita in order to protect the family's name. What Preetam and the Thakurs do not know is that Sarita is not really pregnant, in fact, she is not who she claims to be, but is a close associate of Rana, who is now out of prison, and is hellbent to destroy the Thakur family once and for all. Watch how Sarita sets about to fulfill her agenda which is set amidst hilarious antics of Safachat and his attempts to wed Gauri.
- Circumstances force an innocent Deepa into the life of a hardened criminal. When a gang of spoiled rich young men Sukhdev cooks up a robbery and Deepa is locked up and sentenced to a remand home for six months. When she is out of the jail she is totally changed person. But then a twist in the story takes place when Justice Sinha, a judge in a juvenile court, comes upon Deepa. He decides to adopt Deepa as his daughter and save her from her criminal life. Deepa has to get rid of her street-smart ways and win over the family. All in Sinha's family starts loving her and even Dr. Vikram the young handsome family physician starts taking a personal interest in her, it looked as if things would turn out well after all. Dr. Vikram and Kishore, Sinha's elder son, help in grooming Deepa. In the process she and Vikram fell in love. But then trouble enters Deepa's life again. Deepa and Kishore remember where they had met each other before. Four years back, Kishore was one of the group of boys led by Sukhdev in the incident that was the turning point of Deepa's life. In acute shame and embarrassment, unable to face her accept her as a sister, Kishore fled away back to Pune. Deepa is heart broken. Then Deepa's former mentor Shambhu Dada threatens to kill the judge and expose a scandal about Rani if Deepa did not rob the Judge for him.Does Deepa robs her own house where she got respect, love and a name?
- Justice M.K. Roy is a traditional and orthodox gentleman, who is unable to understand nor appreciate the carelessness of today's youth. He has brought up his daughter, Shobha, with these same traditions, and he hopes to get her married in a good household. To his shock and dismay, Shobha is in love with Ramesh Saxena, an unemployed youth, who has no respect for tradition. Justice Roy is opposed to any alliance with Ramesh in any way whatsoever, until and unless Ramesh gets a suitable and respectable job, and learns to respect tradition. Ramesh does get a job with a textile mill, and gets a bonus payment, which is to be presented to him in an open ceremony, presided over by Justice Roy. When the bonus payment is being handed over to Ramesh, a woman comes forward and claims that Ramesh is her husband, who had abandoned her soon after their marriage.
- Randhir and Ranvir Verma are twins. Randhir is straightforward, while Ranvir is a petty criminal. These petty thefts add up, and soon the police arrest Ranvir, and he is sentenced to prison. In prison, Ranvir incurs the wrath of a gangster, Tony, and is killed. Randhir undertakes to find the killer, and gets himself arrested, and imprisoned to get to see who the killer is. After getting out from prison, Randhir plans to avenge his brother's death, without knowing that he himself could endanger his very life, as well the life of his girlfriend, Mala. The song "Chandni chand se hoti hai, sitaron se nahin, pyar bhi ek se hota hai hazaron se nahin..." is still popular.
- Dr Sunil Gupta, a gynecologist and Dr. Hira are partners in Prakash Nursing Home. Sunil treats his profession as an earning job unlike his father, who landed up in debt because of treating free the poor patients. Sunils' girlfriend Yashoda too is a doctor working in a government hospital treating the profession as a service. A patient being treated by Dr Hira dies due to his negligence but he saves his skin by firing the nurse. While operating on a minister's pregnant daughter-in-law, Manjula, Sunil is faced with a choice of saving either the mother or child. He opts for the former. The minister, Raosaheb, holds Sunil responsible for the child's death and lodges a complaint with the medical council. Dr Hira too sides with him against Sunil, getting him suspended. Sunil, in the meanwhile, comes to know about the truth of Hira's patient's death from the absconding nurse. Armed with the evidence he files a case in the court and wins. Chastened Sunil decides to follow in his father's footsteps.
