- Kailashnath is a wealthy widower, who lives in a palatial house with three grown sons, Randhir, Rajiv, Rishi, and a younger school-going son. It so happens that the daughters have similar interests as Kailashnath's sons. So the six match-up, romance, have fun, and would like to get married. Kailashnath refuses to permit his sons to get married until and unless they establish themselves and are able to stand on their respective feet. He, therefore, puts forth a proposal to marry Kaushalya - a marriage that will douse the romance of these three couples - and change their relation into those of brothers and sisters - but will it make them take any interest in employment and business?
- Dr. Dharmesh (Rajendra Kumar) and Sita (Meena Kumari) are in love, and hope to marry on Dharmesh's return from abroad. When Dharmesh returns, he is devastated to find that Sita has married someone else. He then decides to devote the rest of his life at a cancer clinic. One of his patients is Ram (Raaj Kumar), who is critically ill, and has to be operated upon. Things progress well, until Dharmesh meets Ram's wife - none other than Sita. Dharmesh now has to battle with his conscience, and his medical ethics to save Ram or to let him pass away, so that he can marry Sita.

Upon their entry at the airport, they are searched, and Ram is found to be in possession of diamonds hidden in medicinal capsules. He is immediately arrested, tried in Court, and sentenced to several years in prison. Years later he is released, and finds Meena awaiting. Both get married and decide to settle down and live life honestly. But trouble comes knocking on their door again - this time it's Ram's brother, Harnam, who wants Ram to join him in smuggling. Ram, initially refuses, but when Meena is abducted, he relents and joins his brother in a career of crime - a change that will have disastrous results for Meena and himself.
- Street-wise and poor, Amar Nath makes a living selling cinema tickets and fast-food snacks (Bhel Puri) outside cinema halls. He is taken under the wing of a politician and Chair of the "Garibon Ki Party', Shankar Narayan, allowed to join the Police Academy, and returns as a Police Inspector. He falls in love and gets married to Asha, the only daughter of multi-millionaire businessman, Sitaram. When he successfully apprehends and kills a terrorist by the name of Anil Raj, he is promoted as the Assistant Commisisoner of Police. Asha shares his joy, and soon both are informed that they will soon be proud parents. Then Amar also apprehends and kills a smuggler by the Koya Koya Atachi, and gets immensely popular with the public, so much so that Shankar Narayan resigns and asks Amar to be the Chair of the political party, which Amar accepts and quits his job from the Police Force. It is then that pregnant Asha finds out that Amar is not who he claims to be but is a pawn in the hands of skilled politicians - who have been using him as their hit-man, and now are ready to use him as the Chief Minister so that they can carry on with their nefarious activities. Watch what Asha does to prevent Amar from influencing their newborn son, and from attaining power.

Jai does not speak out openly against Suraj when he is with Sapna, for fear of antagonizing her, but discusses this issue with Vishal, and together they concoct a scheme that will separate Sapna and Suraj forever.

Then Kabir Das is arrested and imprisoned by a murder he claims he did not commit, and the duo promise to help him, and find out who the real killer is, but they themselves end up getting in trouble.

Mala gives birth to a baby girl, and both live a very poor and destitute life. Deepak has met with Asha several times, and would like to marry her. Asha would also like to marry Deepak. And then Asha finds out that Mala is still alive, and she must now decide to withhold that information from Deepak so she could marry him instead or tell him the truth and lose him forever.
