- Lucy Wilska (Ilona Ostrowska), an American of Polish descent, comes from New York to Wilkowyje, a small town in eastern Poland, to deal with the matters of a house she inherited after her grandmother. Initially she intends to sell it, but after spending a night in the house she decides to stay in the town permanently. Here she meets and befriends Kusy (Pawel Krolikowski), a drunk living in a cottage next to her house, whom she soon discovers to actually be an educated man and former famous painter, who went through a breakdown after the death of his wife. Lucy also fells in conflict with the corrupt town mayor Pawel Koziol (Cezary Zak) who intended to buy the house from her, but gets in friendly relations with his twin brother, a Catholic priest Piotr Koziol (also Cezary Zak), who is very respected in town and strongly conflicted with his brother. Lucy's worldview and progressive ways often clash with the simple and very conservative society of Wilkowyje, but in time she earns much respect, leading her to become the new mayor of the town. She also helps Kusy to reassemble his life, quit drinking and get back to his art career, and the two soon fell in love and start a relationship.
- Running a pawnshop is an interesting job, exciting at times, but often dangerous. The plot revolves around the owner Kazimierz Barski, his family, employees and customers who appear in the pawnshop due to various life turbulences. These are both the elderly, in need of a living, and the young, who pawn a laptop or phone for a few days. Crazy bargain hunters, thieves and even policemen are equally eager to visit the pawnshop.

The dream of the boss Andrzej Kaczorowski (Tadeusz Chudecki) is to introduce him to the first league of journalism. Kaczorowski cheers the harmonious team every day in search of sensational news topics. He believes that they are at hand, you just need to look carefully. The title "Reporters ..." closely follows regional events, each time colliding with an emotional, human history. They learn local secrets, get into the middle of conflicts, discover what someone was trying to hide. They describe both serious topics such as the perpetrator's escape from the scene of the accident, persecution of Ukrainians or persecution in an orphanage, as well as smaller stories - illegal hen races, a conflict between neighbors or a donuts eating competition on time. Unfortunately, their work is complicated by Kaczorowski's former colleague, and now his greatest enemy - businessman Leszek Rembicki (Piotr Cyrwus), who will try to harm the portal.
