The 2017 American Music Awards were packed with stellar performances and lots of K-pop love on Sunday night! Not only that, but some of music’s top stars also treated fans to some edgy, eye-catching style.

A post shared by Sarah Michelle (@sarahmgellar) on Oct 31, 2017 at 5:55pm Pdt Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are pros at being ridiculously adorable on social media, and their Halloween costume was no exception. On Tuesday, the couple dressed up as Andie and Duckie from the '80s film Pretty in Pink. "Happy Halloween everyone!" the actor wrote alongside his snap. "Eat your heart out John Cryer! Next year . . . Maxwell Houser makes an appearance." Not only did Sarah don a red wig, but we can't get over how spot-on their clothes are. Guess these two are following suit of other celebs and going with the movie character theme this year.

The Deuce saved its best, and its worst, for last.
The final episode of the show's first season is called "My Name Is Ruby" – a title that serves as an assertion of humanity, a prophecy of doom and famous last words all at once. Written by series co-creators David Simon and George Pelecanos and directed by Michelle MacLaren, it's technically about the moment that the selling of sex became part of the American mainstream. But more importantly, it's about the people left behind as surplus to the transition. As such,...

In Richard Branson‘s new autobiography, Finding My Virginity, he divulges the personal story behind his Virgin empire, and shares anecdotes involving his impressive circle of friends — including former president and first lady Barack and Michelle Obama.
Branson, 67, reveals that when the couple famously came to visit him in the British Virgin Islands after Donald Trump was sworn into office in January, Michelle couldn’t contain her excitement.

The Performer | Tatiana Maslany
The Show | Orphan Black
The Episode | “To Right the Wrongs of Many” (Aug. 12, 2017)
The Performance | For her final Orphan Black performance, Maslany pulled off yet another magic trick: She helped deliver two babies (as Sarah) and gave birth (as Helena) at the same time. (She also welcomed little Kira into the world via intercut flashbacks, for the record.) Even after five seasons of watching Maslany do the seemingly impossible, the chemistry that the actress was able to create with herself as Sarah coached Helena through the birthing process was as astounding as the idea of human clones itself.

Eat your heart out, moviegoers. Everyone loves a good love story whether they admit it or not, and the 21st century has brought us more than a few couples worth rooting for: Clementine and Joel, Ennis and Jack, Joaquin and his computer. Often these unions are unconventional or hidden in the guise of something more high-concept — straightforward romances are so 20th century — but at the end of the day, we all want to see a happy ending for our smitten lovers.
Our list goes all over the map, from the mainstream maestro Nancy Meyers to international masters like Wong Kar-Wai. Some were blockbuster hits (“Twilight,” “The Proposal”); others have hardly been seen stateside at all (Lee Chang-dong’s 2002 “Oasis”). However, all of them illustrate some essential element of love, from falling to longing and all the sticky bits in between.

Following a breakout year that earned her fan-favorite status on Lifetime’s UnREAL and a Tony nomination for her Broadway debut in Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, Denée Benton has squarely established herself as a leading lady to root for.
“I always dreamed of playing roles like Natasha,” the 25-year-old actress tells Et hours before kicking off a five-show weekend at the Imperial Theatre. No doubt, she’s not alone. The young, hopelessly romantic ingénue -- conjured by none other than Leo Tolstoy in War & Peace, from which the musical takes its story -- would be a dream part for legions of musical theater school grads. The fact that Benton landed the chance to create the role on Broadway shortly after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University feels like an especially powerful bit of good fortune -- and not just because she’s a black woman.

Maybe humans are the real monsters, and xenomorphs have just been misunderstood all along. That, I suppose, was the logic that spawned Alien: Covenant, another franchise film that buys into the current trend that every villain needs an empathetic origin story.
Covenant, a prequel to the classic 1979 creature feature, Alien, begins with its own prologue: David, the android introduced in Prometheus and played by Michael Fassbender, discusses creation with his maker and asks him "the only question that matters": Where do we come from? Covenant, as with Prometheus before it, is all about creation and, boy, is that creation gross.

The film is described as concerning “a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.” Through the powers of deductive reasoning, one might reasonably conclude that Lawrence and Bardem play said couple, while the rest of the cast — Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris and Domhnall Gleeson — as the interlopers.

Agnieszka Smoczynska’s The Lure demands praise as one of the year’s most unique, unexpected treats; a fanciful feast of cannibalistic Eurotrash ultra-sweetness. Believe in this female-directed debut about playful sirens who pack disco-drenched nightclubs. Dive headfirst into musical mayhem spawned from pixie-punks with gigantic eel tails. Have your minds blown by a foreign-romantic-musical-thriller about murderous sea seductresses who’d dominate the next Eurovision competition. You are not ready for The Lure, and nor should you be – Smoczynska’s unconventional creation is pure sonic seduction.

Chris here. One of the most interesting curiosities every year in Best Of kudos is the list from trashcamp grandmaster John Waters. The provcateur always delivers a list that is surprising in its inclusions both for the purely unexpected (like last year's Cinderella) and for title or two you probably haven't heard of. Rest assured no matter how many films you have seen in a given year, Waters has seen more and his taste is more expansive. Eat your heart out, critics groups.
This year his top choice goes to a film getting lots of breakthrough love this week - Trey Edward Shults's Krisha. The film is quite a fitting choice for the filmmaker - with nonactors on a microbudget, Krisha is all taught social mores, fraught observations of family structures, and psychosis. Sounds somewhat like his own fascinations, albeit with much more inhibitions. Here's what he says of the film,...

One of the UK's best dramas returns as Peaky Blinders embarks on a lush-looking, gripping third series...
This review contains spoilers.
Funny. That was the first episode of Peaky Blinders in which Tommy Shelby didn’t have a gun pulled on him and now he’s scared.
There’s reason to be. Tommy finally has something to lose, and I don’t just mean the tall towers of cash in that Small Heath safe. The man who once declared himself invulnerable to heart-break because his heart was long broken now has a wife and child. And threatening them, an under-the-table government contract to supply stolen weapons to Russian royalists fighting Georgian Bolsheviks.
‘That escalated quickly’ you might say, but you’d be stating the obvious. Escalating things quickly is Peaky Blinders’ specialism. In thirteen hours, we’ve watched Thomas Shelby go from shell-shocked claykicker to international arms...

Turns out Bradley Cooper couldn't believe the fake baby in Clint Eastwood's American Sniper movie either...
This piece contains a mild spoiler for American Sniper.
In the midst of Clint Eastwood's box office smash American Sniper is an already-infamous scene. It's where Bradley Cooper, playing Chris Kyle, cradles a baby. Only it's obvious to pretty much everyone that the baby isn't real at all.
Here's video evidence...
Bradley Cooper has been promoting his new movie, Burnt, and he appeared on the Ellen show in the Us, where the subject of said baby came up.
He admitted that he "couldn't believe that we were working with a plastic baby ... I was just like, this is nuts". Eastwood didn't want a real baby in the end, with the notoriously quick shooting director looking for something he could save time with. Hence the doll.

Stephen A. Smith is obviously a close personal friend of 50 Cent ... 'cause TMZ Sports has video of the Espn host taking the stage with Fiddy this past weekend in Vegas and ... it's funny in a good way. 50 was performing at Drai's Friday night when 47-year-old Smith hopped onstage for what we'd like to believe was an audition for membership in the G-Unit. Check out the clip -- Stephen A. seems to have mastered "what the...

Many happy returns to Robert Downey Jr, who turns the big 5-0 today (April 4)!
Having broken through in Hollywood as a member of the Brat Pack, Downey Jr quelled turbulent times in the '90s to emerge as one of the most bankable big screen stars. This, of course, is predominantly down to his sensational turn as Tony Stark in 2008's Iron Man, a movie that kick-started the entire McU.
To celebrate Downey's Jr's big day, Digital Spy has collected eight of his greatest Tony Stark moments below...
1. Tony Stark unleashes the Jericho Missile
"They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once," says Tony ahead of his demonstration of the powerful Jericho Missile weapon.

Sequels and spinoffs are all the rage on the big screen these days, but the news that Disney is moving forward with a Frozen 2 still comes as something of a surprise considering the studio has been reticent to pump out theatrically-released follow-ups to its biggest hits - only The Three Caballeros, The Rescuers Down Under, Fantasia 2000 and Winnie the Pooh are part of the Disney Animated Canon.
However, throughout the '90s and '00s Disney had a lucrative side-business in direct-to-video sequels that were turned around quickly and cheaply and made the studio a fast buck. Many execs felt that these cheapened the originals and John Lasseter put the brakes on them, although the recent Tinker Bell films (branching out from Peter Pan) have their roots in this release model.
Digital Spy revisits 13 of Disney's most unnecessary straight-to-video sequels below:

Is it just me or does Guillermo Del Toro seem to be a man divided? I mean, I have nothing against Pacific Rim but personally it’s just not my thing. I could say I was disappointed by it but it wasn’t really my thing. Well, mainly it was the barely tolerable orgy of CGI that wasn’t my thing more than, you know, kaiju-punching giant robots because how could that not be your thing? But I think I speak on behalf of all horror fans that, after the entertaining but awkward Hellboy films, we were hoping for a return to the Del Toro of old, the The Orphanage and Pan’s Labyrinth mastermind who lured his unsuspecting prey into his films with dabs of gothic fantasy before swallowing them whole. It’s not that we can’t share him with non-horror fans; it’s just that we refuse.

What do day dreaming samurais on Tatooine, the Pirates of Dark Water, Cybermen, Gambit, Alex Rodriguez, Musashi, Kinopio, woodland elves and Dick Cheney all have in common? Absolutely nothing to the average focus group. But to Gearbox Software, those fun-loving dreamers behind Borderlands, it’s the makings of a new shooter mash-up, entitled Battleborn. We got a chance to get an early view of this game in pre-alpha.
Battleborn is designed as a cooperative and competitive shooter, complete with pirates, swordsmen, elves, steroid freaks, mushroom killers and piss-on-the-poor, upper class assassins. The goal is to take just about every character class and archetype from fantasy, sci-fi, steampunk fiction or otherwise and put them all together in a universe where it makes sense for them to coexist – even if it’s in disharmony with one another.
Of course, under-the-hood of every multiplayer shooter, there’s a little story behind the magic...

“Have you ever been in a genocide?” Milner asked Carvel years ago at that black tie summit for the brainy and powerful. This week’s episode delivered his answer. Yes, Philip Carvel has been in a genocide. He escaped one as a child under the most traumatic conditions and thenceforth pledged to use his powerful mind to stop anything like it happening again. Eat your heart out, Magneto.
The results of Carvel’s quest to suppress human violence have been ironic to say the least. Not only did his experiments on his infant son create a killer who sees murder as nothing more than “unscrewing a bottle to get to the water”, they also turned Carvel - a concentration camp survivor - into a Mengele-like monster. 3.19 Captain's Holiday
The Enterprise is returning from a two-week diplomacy mission where Picard mediated a trade contract between two stubborn parties, proving that if he had been around during the start of The Phantom Menace, there would be no blockade and thus no Empire (Take That, Skywalker! Checkmate!) Unfortunately, he's become irritable and grumpy, two qualities we would seldom associate with the French.
Recognising his stress, the senior staff conspires to send him on a vacation. He resists, but eventually the combined badgering of Troi, Riker and Crusher suddenly changes his mind (to be fair, you'd leave too if you have to face that.)
At Riker's insistence, Picard visits the nearby pleasure planet Risa, planning to read some dull books and work on his v-neck tan. No sooner has he beamed...
