Julia Fox is running for public office for being the best dressed and most civically minded.
The multi-hyphenate talent and creator of E! reality series “Omg Fashun” exclusively told IndieWire that she was determined to showcase sociopolitical issues through garments in the series. Fox and Scout Productions pitched the competition show to NBC, billing it as “Chopped” meets “Project Runway” as contestants craft clothes using unusual items.
“It just doesn’t seem real, still,” Fox said of having her own series. “My whole thing is trying to support emerging talent in any way. A guy from Jersey has magically transformed into a guy from Australia.
On Wednesday, Netflix released the first footage of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, the series lead role the Aussie actor has taken over from Henry Cavill, in “The Witcher” Season 4.
In the short clip, Geralt is leading his horse, Roach, through a dark and dreary landscape. We see the back of his iconic white-blond head. And as he turns around, he looks familiar but different.
Cavill departed the hit fantasy series after Season 3, and Hemsworth was brought in to replace him. It remains to be seen if and how Geralt’s new appearance is addressed.
“The Witcher” has already been renewed for a fifth and final season, which will shoot back-to-back with Season 4. Season 4 is in production in the U.K. now.

Eyes follow Anya Taylor-Joy whenever she steps on a red carpet, and the descriptions of her ensembles that follow often include adjectives like glamorous, ethereal, angelic, and the like. But when she faced photographers’ lenses in Sydney in early May for the world premiere of George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, what followed was a series of exclamation points. Edgy! Electric! Striking! Furiosa-approved!
Taylor-Joy donned a vintage look from Paco Rabanne’s spring 1996 haute couture collection. The sheer chain-mail creation featured triangular and oval diamonté adornments with arrow spikes jutting out from both the body of the dress and the matching headpiece.
With her appearance, Taylor-Joy became the latest star to fashionably fuel a trend that has been described as method dressing or character cosplay. It has felt omnipresent as of late, thanks to style stars like Zendaya, Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart and Florence Pugh. Though...

By virtually any metric, Matt Amodio is one of the most successful quiz show contestants of all time.
The Medina, Ohio native, who now works as a quantitative researcher in New York, burst onto the trivia scene in 2021 with a commanding performance on American game show institution Jeopardy! Amodio would go on to dot his name all over the hallowed Jeopardy! record books, winning 38 consecutive games (third most all time), taking in $1,518,601 in prize-winnings (also third most all time), and finishing third in the inaugural Jeopardy! Masters tournament in 2023.
Now Amodio has returned for the second installment of Jeopardy! Masters alongside familiar competitors James Holzhauer, Amy Schneider, and Mattea Roach; and fresh faces Victoria Groce and Yogesh Raut. This time around, however, the ultra-champ hasn’t done too well. After five episodes (consisting of 10 games), Amodio finds himself in last place – hammering home just how challenging Jeopardy! has become and...

Zendaya has become one of the most influential celebrities in Hollywood. She has established herself as a force to be reckoned with through her acting skills, being regarded as an extremely talented actress. While her professional life has certainly earned her a reputation, she is also well-known for her fashion sense.
A still from Euphoria
The actress is a respected figure in the world of fashion, always making a statement with the clothing she adorns. However, such acclaim did not come easy, and the actress had to work towards it for many years. Recently, a close friend, Law Roach, spoke about a time when she wasn’t as successful and what her fashion choices were then.
It would seem that five brands refused to work with her when she was still starting out, and Zendaya held a grudge.

Zendaya’s Stylist Calls of “Big Five” Designers Who Snubbed The Challengers Star. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
The current fashion “it girl” Zendaya was reportedly snubbed by five prominent designers’ houses back in the day. In an interview with The Cutting Room Floor shared on Patreon Thursday, May 9, the “Challengers” actress’ long-time stylist, Law Roach, revealed she has yet to wear looks from five fashion houses on the red carpet after they refused to dress her early in her career.
Roach, who has styled the “Dune” star since she was 14, has continued to work with the actress despite announcing his retirement from celebrity styling over a year ago. Roach, who recently styled Zendaya for the Met Gala, where she walked the carpet in a stunning gown by Maison Margiela’s John Galliano, said it was a challenge to get certain luxury fashion houses to work with the star in the past...

Stylist Law Roach revealed on “The Cutting Room Floor” podcast that Zendaya still hasn’t worn looks from five fashion houses after they refused to dress her early in her career.
“I would write the big five. I would write Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Dior, and they would all say, ‘No, try again next year. She’s too green. She’s not on our calendar,’” Roach said during the interview.
“I still have the receipts,” he continued. “By the time she got to [the cover of] American Vogue [in 2017], she still had never worn any of those designers. She still hasn’t.”
Roach, who has styled the “Challengers” and “Dune” star since she was 14, clarified that Zendaya has worn designs by the “big five” in editorial shoots, but never in public or during red carpet appearances.
“She still has never worn Dior on a carpet. She still has never worn Chanel on a carpet.

Law Roach has a great memory. The stylist said on Wednesday that his longtime client Zendaya still hasn’t donned looks from the “big five” fashion houses after they initially refused to dress her early in her career.
“I would write [to] the big five… and they would all say no,” Roach, who has styled Zendaya since she was 14, said during an appearance on The Cutting Room Floor podcast. He clarified he was referring to Chanel, Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci and Valentino, who consistently told him, “Try again next year. She’s too green. She’s not on our calendar.”
“I still have the receipts,” Roach said, adding that their initial reluctance means he continues to steer clear of them. “By the time she got to [the cover of] American Vogue [in 2017], she still had never worn any of those designers. She still hasn’t.”

Holzhauer and Roach stood at one point each for placing second, while Amodio and Schneider trailed with zero. With several gowns reportedly being considered until almost the last moment, Zendaya’s choice for the 2024 Met Gala ultimately was a custom haute couture look from Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano as well as a surprise archival look — also by Galliano.
In the hours before the Challengers star and Met Gala co-chair arrived on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the rumor mill had kicked into high gear about who she might be wearing. Multiple gowns were mentioned as contenders, a sign of the power Zendaya wields in the fashion industry.
But her first choice indeed reflected the blend of 19th century romance and modernity that Galliano creates like perhaps no other designer, with elements that subtly evoke the gala’s theme of “The Garden of Time.” The emerald green and electric blue gown is a custom design made of organza and sage-hued lamé crafted...

Challengers also stars Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist and was directed by Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino. It opens in theaters on Friday.

Another day, another slay. That, I think, is Zendaya and her talented stylist Law Roach’s mantra throughout the Challengers promotional run. After nailing the method dressing game at the Rome premiere and photocall for Challengers with her tennis whites and tennis ball heels, Zendaya and her talented glam squad jetted to London to ace yet another stylish press tour.
And just as I had predicted, they killed it in the style and glam department! But in addition to her ensembles, her hairstyles are also worth checking out.

I don’t know about you, but for me, Zendaya is the queen of method dressing. She hasn’t missed a beat from Spider-Man to Dune: Part Two and now Challengers.

Taking method dressing to new heights, Zendaya literally wore a tennis ball on her heels for the Challengers photocall in Rome. She’s quite dedicated, I must say!
Loewe, the Spanish label behind the viral quirky shoe collection of weird heels made of balloons, cracked egg, soap, and nail polish bottles, created Zendaya’s bizarre tennis pumps. Though I find it rather peculiar, they fit the event’s theme well.

The fashion icon is serving incredible outfits as she appears at media events for the sports drama. Most recently, Zendaya appeared in her most on-the-nose tennis look yet at a photocall in Rome, Italy.

On April 8, Zendaya graced the rooftop of Hotel Hassler for a media event with her Challengers costars. The 27-year-old’s look channeled tennis greats like Serena Williams as she donned a custom Loewe dress. Everything about this piece plunged, with a drop waist and neckline nearly to the Euphoria star‘s belly button. The sparkly silver number could translate directly to the tennis court if it weren’t covered in silver sparkles.

She’s back on the red carpet! Following her futuristic, otherworldly approach to method dressing on the Dune: Part Two press tour last month, Zendaya returns to the red carpet to promote her upcoming romantic sports drama film, Challengers.
While embarking on the promotional tour for her new movie in Paris on Saturday, Zendaya eschewed the space-age looks that we’ve grown to love in favor of sleek and elegant Louis Vuitton ensembles, particularly in green and white color scheme as an homage to tennis.
She wore not one, not two, but three gorgeous outfits, all expertly selected by her trusted stylist, Law Roach. After seeing her latest looks, I am excited to see what she’ll wear on her next press tour! And considering the film won’t be released until April 26, we’ll see a lot more from the Gen Z fashion icon!

Villains are more often than not the difference between a good game and a great game. They represent everything the protagonist is fighting against, and when they’re done really well, they’re the special sauce in an otherwise merely serviceable gaming experience.
All of the characters on this list are fun to hate in their own way, and truth be told, most of them completely steal the show from their do-gooder counterparts.
Before we reveal the best (worst?) of those villains, keep in mind that we are utilizing a “one character per franchise” rule for this list in order to discuss and celebrate as wide of a collection of evildoers as possible.
25. Lionel Starkweather – Manhunt
Rockstar’s Manhunt whiffs on some of its biggest swings, but Lionel Starkweather remains one of the studio’s best characters. Also known as “The Director,” Starkweather is the persistent voice in players’ ears...

Louis Armstrong arrived in the Congolese capital, Leopoldville (now known as Kinshasa), on October 28, 1960, armed with his trumpet and wiping sweat from his brow. His visit was part of a U.S. State Department-sponsored tour of Africa, an arrangement Armstrong felt ambivalent about. Still, the Congolese people gave Satchmo, as the American jazz trumpeter was known, a near royal welcome. Drummers and dancers carried him to his performance venue on a red chair, fashioned like a throne. Civilians cheered him on. Ten thousand people showed up to watch him play.
This was a momentous occasion, a storied event for the newly independent republic of the Congo. Four months before Armstrong came to play jazz, the country had freed itself from the colonial grip of Belgium to become one of the more than dozen postcolonial African nations formed in 1960. But the region was still plagued with problems, most of them stemming...

Earlier this month, we shared the news that Anchor Bay Entertainment – which used to be a major player in the horror world back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, when they gave DVD releases to films like the Evil Dead trilogy, George A. Romero’s Dead trilogy, the Sleepaway Camp franchise, The Hills Have Eyes, The Car, Maniac, Prom Night, some of the Hellraisers, Halloweens, and much more – is being revived, with their first two releases puppet horror film Abruptio and Dinner with Leatherface, a documentary that looks at the life, career, and legacy of original Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen. Now we’ve learned that the new Anchor Bay has acquired the North American rights to the horror/comedy Crust, with the plan being to release it sometime later this year.

Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon was supposed to be heading into production on Scream 7 soon – but that project has turned out to be so troubled, he had to activate his ejector seat and get out of there. Things are looking good for him now that he has escaped from that mess, as he recently signed on to direct the werewolf thriller Big Bad, and now Deadline reports that he’ll be directing the “fast-paced thriller” Drop for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the production company team that has previously brought us the Purge franchise. Drop has even found its lead already: Meghann Fahy, who was recently seen on season 2 of The White Lotus.
Details on the story Drop will be telling have not been revealed. All we know is the “fast-paced thriller” description and the fact that the screenplay has been written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach,...

Sundance Review: Soundtrack to a Coup d’État is a Vibrant, Complex, and Jazz-Infused Political Essay
It was Mark Twain who said, “History doesn’t repeat itself but it often rhymes,” which is one way of approaching Belgian filmmaker and multimedia artist Johan Grimonprez’s sprawling, jazz-infused Soundtrack to a Coup d’État. The political essay revisits 1960, a turbulent year in global affairs: Patrice Lumumba rises to power in Congo just as the United States, through the CIA-backed Voice of America radio network, aims to soften America’s image aboard, sending jazz musicians Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, Dizzy Gillespie, Abbey Lincoln, and Max Roach to tour the world. The film positions the jazz musicians as a kind of political cabinet while Gillespie envisions his own run for the White House on TV talk shows back home. It proceeds with a rather kinetic, defiant tone in which the jazz, breaking news, citations, and quotes interrupt the historical footage a more standard documentary may have primarily focused on.

This London crime drama steers clear of the usual cliches thanks to a strong cast and some dynamic direction from George Amponsah
Here is a solidly made high-energy London crime drama, which skirts around the Sumotherhood cliches … just about. A moped gang is making money and having toxic fun stealing smartphones and wallets out of people’s hands – then they escalate to robbing jewellery shops, with calamitous results. It’s co-written by Taz Skylar, who plays one of the robbers, and directed by George Amponsah, who in 2015 made the important documentary The Hard Stop about the Mark Duggan case.
Stephen Odubola plays Ash, a basically decent young guy with a talent for riding and maintaining bikes, but drawn into the phone-jacking business due to an absent dad; he also has to provide for his kid sister Jas (a nice performance from Rawdat Quadri) and save money for rehab treatment for his addicted mum,...

Usually on Test of Time we are looking at heavy hitter franchises or big-ticket movies from the biggest of big-name horror directors. If we looked at Carpenter, we could look at things like The Thing or Escape From New York and ask the stupidest question in the world, like if they stand the test of time and what their influences would be. For Hooper, you could give Texas Chainsaw 2 a whirl or see if Lifeforce makes any more damn sense now than it did when it came out. The answers to these and many more questions in a Mount Rushmore horror creators list of credits would be yes, yes, they are quite good. Next Question. So really, when you are playing with the big boys you have to go a little deeper, look at the lesser known and often less discussed movies in their bag of goodies. Today we...

Exclusive: “Peggy Ramsay used to say ‘agent’ is the most disgusting word in the English language,” ponders Adam Welsh, the founder of Divergent Talent Group (Dtg).
For a group of changemakers making their way through the UK’s bustling agenting landscape, the words uttered by Ramsay, one of the greats — who repped the likes of Stephen Poliakoff, David Hare and J.B. Priestley — don’t exactly chime.
These agents are spearheading the UK TV and film industry’s drive to improve representation for disabled talent, a minority that makes up 20% of the British population and yet is vastly under-utilized both on the small screen and behind the camera.
Welsh founded his agency devoted to repping neurodivergent talent in 2021. Sara Johnson and Julie Fernandez have recently joined Casarotto Ramsay in an intriguing dual role representing, training and developing talent, while long-time advocate Andrew Roach, whose clients include Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy,...

Some are calling Zendaya‘s look “sci-fi glam”; others say it’s classic elegance. Either way, the Euphoria starlet shined at Fendi’s spring/summer 2024 haute couture show.

The 27-year-old posed on the steps of Palais Brongniart in Paris before sitting front row for the runway presentation. Sporting the baby bangs she debuted earlier in the week at Schiaparelli’s show, Zendaya’s longer locks were pulled back into a chic bun above the nape of her neck.
The Dune actor’s crimson ombre lip and kohl-lined eyes complemented the classic elements of her ensemble. Styled by Law Roach, Zendaya’s cold-shoulder gown leaned more plum than burgundy. The halter necklace and ribbed sleeves accented the edginess of this modern look.

Brent Smith was sitting in a slow-moving line of ATVs and golf carts at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in September when he saw them start to assemble. Thousands of fans — a growing sea of humanity — were slowly recognizing the lead singer of Shinedown as he, members of Papa Roach, and viral country singer Oliver Anthony all motored into a nearby field in search of a stage.
The festival, held at a remote raceway in Alton, Virginia, had just been called off early by promoters citing bad weather, and Shinedown...

Last year, it was confirmed that both Barbie and Ken Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling would star in a new installment of the Ocean’s Eleven franchise. The pair will reportedly star as the parents of Danny Ocean.
According to Roger Friedman’s Showbiz411, the upcoming film is titled Oceans, and will serve as a prequel to the original Ocean’s Eleven trilogy, in which George Clooney portrayed Danny. Most plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but it’ll involve the Ocean parents teaching their children the fundamentals of orchestrating a heist and stealing from the rich.
Oceans will also reportedly be set in the 1960s, priming it for some nostalgic references to the original 1960 Ocean’s 11 that starred Frank Sinatra as its titular heist master. As for contemporary inspirations, we also have Greta Gerwig’s Barbie to thank for bringing Gosling into the fold, after producers saw his impeccable on-screen chemistry with Robbie.

Forget the fear of flying. In the upcoming six-episode thriller “Nightsleeper,” the real danger awaits on a train travelling from Glasgow to London.
“When we were developing the show, we got all these experts in one room and asked: ‘How do you hack a train?’ An hour later, they said: ‘This is scary. We could easily do it now, between ourselves’,” says writer Nick Leather.
“We will do for trains what ‘Jaws’ did for sharks.”
Produced by Fremantle’s Euston Films and set to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in early 2024, “Nightsleeper” is directed by Jamie Magnus Stone and John Hayes.
While Abby Aysgarth (Alexandra Roach) at the U..K’s National Cyber Security Centre is trying her best to stop the train, some remaining passengers also join forces – including off-duty cop Joe Roag (“Peaky Blinders” actor Joe Cole). But they only have six hours and one satellite phone.
