Charlie Hunnam is set to make a return to series television. The former Sons of Anarchy star is set to play the lead in Prime Video’s highly anticipated Criminal, which is based on a series of graphic novels by Ed Brubaker. The series returns Hunnam to the world of organized crime, a genre that’s paid nice dividends for him in between Sons of Anarchy and The Gentlemen. According to Deadline, Hunnam is set to play the lead, “Leo, a brilliant master thief who sees all the angles, and specializes in plans with no guns and no violence. Like a chess player, Leo thinks three moves ahead. Other crooks think he’s a coward, especially compared to his father Tommy, who went to jail for murdering the most feared man in the city, Teeg Lawless.”

Sydney Sweeney Reportedly Being Eyed for Star Wars Project - Main Image
A recent scoop has claimed that Sydney Sweeney is being eyed to star in a Star Wars project.
The actress has become one of the most prominent rising stars in Hollywood recently thanks to her scene-stealing turn in the hit HBO series Euphoria and starring in the hit rom-com Anyone But You.
Some fans have been wondering whether Sweeney will end up joining a major franchise (aside from the poorly-received Madame Web) considering her current success and it looks like she might join the galaxy far, far away soon.

Top Gun fans waited over thirty years for Top Gun: Maverick, but the wait was well worth it. The film was an overwhelming success, earning rave reviews and grossing $1.4 billion worldwide. Considering those box-office bucks, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that Paramount is developing Top Gun 3 with Tom Cruise expected to reprise his role as Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell alongside Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw (Miles Teller) and Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin (Glen Powell).
Although we likely won’t have to wait as long as we did for Maverick, those involved with the threequel aren’t about to rush the project. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer gave a Top Gun 3 update to Games Radar, saying that he’s had “preliminary” conversations with Tom Cruise, but “we’re not there yet. [There’s] ways to go.“

Out of all the DC characters, Batman is arguably the most popular of them all; the character has resonated immensely well with pop culture, leading to a hype that none of the other superheroes can match his popularity. We’ve been waiting a few years to see if and when the Marvel Cinematic Universe Blade reboot that’s set to star Mahershala Ali of Green Book is going to go into production – and while we continue to wait, Ali is in talks to join former MCU star Scarlett Johansson in the new Jurassic World movie that’s in the works at Universal! As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Ali tends to be very selective and usually avoids Hollywood blockbuster-type projects (aside from Blade), so getting him to sign on for a role would be a big “get” for this project.
If Ali’s deal closes, he’ll be sharing the screen with Johansson (Black Widow), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Rupert Friend (Anatomy of a Scandal), Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer), and a bunch of hungry dinosaurs. The transition from good to evil has fascinated writers for centuries. Forcing characters to dance on the line of morality has always intrigued audiences more than two-dimensional characters with simple moral compasses. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-known for administering such dilemmas to their viewers through the characters they make.

Be it Kilmonger in Black Panther, Thanos’ noble motivations to wipe out half the universe, or the execution of the Punisher’s justice, it is difficult for fans to condemn some villains when their motivations are so complex. Despite this, there are a few characters that have stayed consistent over the years, even though the law would disagree.
Five of the main six Avengers have managed to always have a strong moral compass, ever since the 2011 film, and these traits have stayed consistent. However, it would seem that their actors have played parts that juxtapose their iconic roles.

Intro: At the time of writing this episode of Arnie Revisited, it’s just been confirmed that Hollywood is once again scouring popular IP with the upcoming reboot of The Running Man from Edgar Wright, with rising star Glen Powell attached to the project. The Top Gun: Maverick actor is certainly hot property right now, having just cosied up to Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You. However, it was another actor, whose star was crashing through the sky in the 80s, who first took on the adaptation of Stephen King’s short story, which was written under his Richard Bachman pen name.
Arnie had just battled camouflaged alien hunters in Predator, released in June 1987, and the same year saw him take on another action sci-fi project, albeit this time with less aliens but similarly memorable action and one-liners. It was quite a departure from the original short story, but the...

Did Furiosa’s Poor Box Office Performance Get Another Mad Mad Movie Shelved? (Photo Credit – IMDb)
After a surprisingly bad debut at the box office, George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga might have just ruined the chances of any other Mad Max sequels or prequels. As George Miller wrote Fury Road, he also worked on developing Furiosa and The Wastelands. But given the box office performance of Furiosa, it might have put a halt to the next Mad Max movie.
Forty-five years after George Miller introduced audiences to Mad Max, the auteur may have finally reached the end of the road through the postapocalyptic wasteland unless he can find redemption with his Mad Max films.

Top Gun: Maverick, the long-awaited sequel to Tom Cruise’s iconic 1986 film, was a massive success following its release in 2022. Capturing the high-flying action of the original film, while also introducing a bunch of new characters, director Joseph Kosinski filled big shoes by taking over the project from Tony Scott.

Top Gun: Maverick came more than three decades after the release of the first film starring Tom Cruise in the lead, and yet, it was as much of a resounding success as the original film from 1986. However, unlike a lot of stuff and people that were brought back from the first movie in this 2022 one, legendary filmmaker Tony Scott wasn’t one because of his devastating demise in 2012.

Since the younger Scott wasn’t there, Cruise reportedly decided to approach the older and equally legendary Scott brother, Ridley Scott, to helm the second movie in his Aviation film series. However, he was surprisingly not only met with a declined request by the iconic director, with the movie going to Joseph Kosinski instead, but was even met with his film being considered mediocre by Ridley!

Glen Powell almost said no to his career-changing role in Top Gun: Maverick. Why? Well, he initially auditioned for the role of Rooster which, as we all know, went to Miles Teller. Disheartened by the loss and unamused by Hangman’s character, Glen Powell contemplated walking out of the film. That is until Tom Cruise had a word with him. Clearly, the two actors bonded during their time in the film.

In fact, Tom Cruise gave Glen Powell a gift that he rarely gives anyone – his six-hour-long movie. You certainly read that right. Hollywood’s superstar has a film school movie that he only allows to be seen by his friends. In the film, Tom Cruise does his best to teach viewers everything he has learned about filmmaking over the years and Glen Powell was one of the few lucky ones who got to see it.

Glen Powell is an American actor, writer, and producer who is involved in almost every part of filmmaking. Recently, he’s been known for his roles in ‘Top Gun’ and ‘Anyone But You.’ One of his big breaks came in 2016 with the movie ‘Hidden Figures,’ where he played astronaut John Glenn. This film, which shows the contributions of African American women mathematicians at NASA during the Space Race, was a big hit.
Powell started acting much earlier, appearing in a ‘Spy Kids’ movie when he was 13. Now, after finally making it big in Hollywood, the actor is stepping back and ready to give it all up.
Previously, the actor said he was ready to retire from acting and didn’t want to be in Marvel movies or films aimed at winning Oscars. However, in a recent interview with GQ, he said he’s willing to make an exception.

Glen Powell is perfectly acing his game in Hollywood two decades after starting his career, thanks to his recent pieces that have finally granted him his breakthrough: Everybody Wants Some!! and Top Gun: Maverick. Glen Powell is sharing his thoughts on playing the role of Batman and has some ideas.
In a new interview with GQ, Powell led a tour around the Warner Bros. Studio lot and came across the Batmobile section.
“I was always a Batman guy,” Powell said. “I would have a wild take on Batman. It definitely would not be like a Matt Reeves tone – it’d probably be closer to [Michael] Keaton.”
The reporter noted that Powell doesn’t have any interest in playing a superhero. When Powell found Keaton’s Batmobile, he said, “Oh, sick! See? This is the era.”
Powell does have a history in the DC Universe. In 2012, he was credited as Trader #1 in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.
“I get my head smashed in by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises,” he said.

Back in January, the news broke that a series based on Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips' Eisner Award-winning comic book, Criminal, is in development for Amazon Prime Video, and the project has now added another lead cast member.
Joining Richard Jenkins as Ivan will be Adria Arjona as Greta Watson (they appear to have dropped a "t" from the character's first name for some reason).
This take on Greta is described as “a sharp-tongued top-level car thief and driver and the widowed mother of Angie. Ever since her husband died in a bank job gone bad, Greta has been battling with herself about how to escape the only life she’s ever known – and the only place she’s ever thrived. Glen Powell may be blowing up thanks to roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You, but like any other actor, he struggled on his way to the top and lost out on some major roles, including Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
While chatting with GQ UK, Glen Powell spoke of coming “agonizingly” close to playing Han Solo, only to drop the ball at the last moment. “I can joke about it now,” he said, “[but] I blew that final audition.” The role ultimately went to Alden Ehrenreich, but with Powell’s charisma, you can see why Disney was interested in him in the first place. The actor also said he screwed up auditions for Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens over the years, but he’s accepted that it just wasn’t meant to be.

Glen Powell told some of his best Tom Cruise stories as part of a cover story interview with GQ UK magazine. The two actors became close friends during the production of “Top Gun: Maverick.” Powell originally auditioned for the role of Rooster, but he was beat out by Miles Teller. Cruise liked Powell and offered him the role of Hangman, but Powell had some notes.
“What we were talking about is, how can Hangman service the story and give the flavor of the original ‘Top Gun’ that you need?” Powell remembered saying to his A-list co-star. “I said my piece to Tom about what I do and what I do well, and he listened. Tom’s a listener. He listens to the crew members, he listens to his collaborators, and he hears people.”
