Actors Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup celebrated a second wedding in Mexico City one year after their courthouse ceremony. The couple, both 55, began dating after costarring in the Netflix drama series Gypsy in 2017. The two married in a courthouse ceremony in June 2023. One year later, Watts and Crudup exchanged vows again in Mexico City on Saturday.
Watts’ brother, Ben Watts, shared photos and videos from the celebration on his Instagram. Watts wore a simple but elegant floor-length gown, while Crudup donned a sophisticated black tuxedo. Members of the bridal party wore strapless beige dresses similar in style to Watts’ wedding dress.
The couple’s children, whom they share with their past partners, also attended the ceremony, including Watts’ children Sasha and Kai with fellow actor Liev Schreiber. Crudup’s son with Mary Louise Parker was also in attendance. Other notable guests included Nicole Kidman and Justin Theroux.

Whether it is Top Gun, Mission Impossible, or any other movie he said yes to, they have done pretty well among critics as well as the box office, barring a few.

While the movie premiered two years ago at Sundance, it has now found its audience, with the HBO Max release drawing an impressive 81% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Screenwriter Robin Swicord is best known for her literary adaptations, including films like Little Women, Matilda, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and so on. Therefore, she was the perfect person to bring Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock’s Practical Magic to life. The film is based on the namesake novel from 1995 written by Alice Hoffman and revolves around the story of two sisters who descended from a long line of witches.

Bringing the book to life was not an easy task for Robin Swicord, who would often find herself in a creative clash with director Griffin Dunne. She once recalled how the director wanted her to adapt the story in a way that it resembled the legendary The Exorcist, and the screenwriter was not at all on board with this.

Despite being initially mocked, the 1998 movie Practical Magic has worked its spell on audiences lately, winning over hearts. Yet, it’s a head-scratcher, how a movie featuring both Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, and a concoction of sisterly bonds and magic mishaps, missed the mark for some.

Alice Hoffman, the creative mind behind the 1995 novel, on which this movie was based, spilled the beans. Critics just didn’t give it the fair shake it deserved. So, while the movie didn’t exactly hit the bullseye at first, it’s definitely casting a charm that’s hard to resist now.

Nowadays, terms like "cult film" are arguably thrown around a bit too often.
But back in 1998, it wasn't uncommon for a quirky flick like Practical Magic to fend off mixed reviews and unimpressive box office and go on to become a beloved cultural touchstone for future generations.
So it should come as no surprise that in this age of nostalgia, reboots, and reimaginings, a sequel to the Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman occult rom-com is currently in the works!
News of the sequel was revealed this morning via Warner Bros.' official Instagram page.
"It's official," the studio announced. "Practical Magic 2 is in development and coming soon."
According to Variety, Bullock and Kidman are not yet officially attached to the project but are in talks to resume their roles as the supernaturally gifted Owens sisters.

One would be forgiven for not including a "Practical Magic 2" announcement on their 2024 Hollywood bingo card because, frankly, it's a little unexpected. Be that as it may, that's precisely what's happening as Warner Bros. has confirmed that a follow-up to the 1998 Halloween season favorite is indeed in the works. What's more, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are both in talks to reprise their roles in the sequel.
The news was announced by Warner Bros. on TikTok (you can check out the video below). According to Variety, Akiva Goldsman ("I Am Legend") is set to write the screenplay, with Bullock and Kidman expected to produce in addition to starring. Denise Di Novi is also on board as a producer. No word yet on who will wind up in the director's chair, but Griffin Dunne helmed the original, which was based on Alice Hoffman's 1995 novel. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, the Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman classic Practical Magic is getting a number two! Warner Bros. casts a curious spell on the Monday news cycle and says it’s making a Practical Magic sequel with Bullock and Kidman in negotiations to return as the Owens sisters. The studio uses some of the original film’s ingredients by having Akiva Goldsman pen the script. Goldsman wrote the 1998 romantic fantasy with Robin Swicord and Adam Brooks. In addition to returning as the Owen sisters, Bullock and Kidman are expected to produce alongside Denise Di Novi. Details about the plot are still bubbling in a cauldron, with more information to follow as the project takes shape.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are in talks to return for a sequel to the 1998 classic Practical Magic.
Akiva Goldsman, one of the writers behind the original, will pen the screenplay. Plot details are not yet known. Bullock and Kidman are expected to produce alongside Denise Di Novi, who produced the original.
Practical Magic starred Kidman and Bullock as two orphaned sisters who come from a long line of witches. Raised by their eccentric aunts in a prejudiced Massachusetts town, they had to contend with a curse that kept them from never finding love.
At the time of release, the movie received generally negative reviews and failed to make a mark at the box office, but it has achieved cult status among audiences. Since the film’s release, Kidman and Bullock have also become the two biggest stars in Hollywood with awards recognition and box office acclaim.

After 26 years the Owens women are returning. Warner Bros. announced a followup film to the 1998 classic, “Practical Magic,” with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in talks to return.
The first movie starred Bullock and Kidman as the witchy Owens sisters, who get wrapped in supernatural coverup after Bullock (unintentionally) drugs and kills Kidman’s abusive ex-boyfriend (Goran Višnjić) forcing them to reanimate his corpse. Akiva Goldsman will write the screenplay for the new movie, with Bullock and Kidman expected to produce alongside Denise Di Novi.

Sandra Bullock is one of the most praised and loved actresses of all time, especially due to her enthusiasm when it comes to portraying roles that help her reinforce her value and position in the film industry. This is one of the primary reasons that Practical Magic was made that had a female-dominated cast, and it centered around Sally Owens and Gillian Owens, two witch sisters overcoming narrow-minded prejudices and a centuries-old curse.

The film was a box office bomb, but thanks to the astonishing performance of the two actresses, it soon evolved into a cult classic film that is aging like fine wine. However, it looks like after 26 years, the fantasy film is potentially receiving a sequel, as Warner Bros. shares a teaser on their social media handle.

If someone asked me to come up with the definitive image of Nicole Kidman, I'm not sure I'd gravitate toward her work in movies or TV, nor even her red-carpet appearances. Instead, my mind would instinctually drift to that shot of industrial-grade glamour that once played at every primetime ad break. It's a Moulin Rouge! reunion and, in its way, a miniature remake with a contemporary twist. It's fashion distilled into a dream, a bespoke Lagerfeld-designed wardrobe, and a fragrance we can only imagine through the screen. It's Old Hollywood resurrected for 180 seconds of hyper-artifice and soft-focus glow, so beautiful it makes your heartache. It's Chanel N°5: The Film, of course…...

In Lulu Wang’s “Expats,” Sarayu Blue’s Hilary is seemingly perfect, put together and polished.
On the surface, the American expat Hilary presents herself as a control freak. From her surroundings to her makeup and neutral wardrobe, it’s all pristine. That facade slowly unravels as her layers are peeled back in the Prime Video six-part limited series. Behind closed doors, her marriage is falling apart, and her husband is cheating on her.
Costume designer Malgosia Turzanska used “aggressive neutrals” when it came to building Hilary’s wardrobe. After her Oscar win for The Hours, Nicole Kidman's career went through some interesting somersaults. 2003 saw her bow the avant-garde cruelty of Dogville at Cannes, while Hollywood bore witness to two prestige projects whose success is debatable. The Human Stain is one of those classic "This Had Oscar Buzz" case studies, while Cold Mountain is most interesting for how it didn't secure a Best Actress nomination despite AMPAS' affection. Then came 2004, when von Trier's Brechtian film finally reached the States, and Kidman faced critical lashings as a response to her risk-taking. If not for Dogville, then for a derided broad comedy we'll discuss later in the series. And, of course, for today's subject – Birth.
Jonathan Glazer's sophomore feature was a resounding bomb with audiences and critics back in 2004, and only the Golden Globes seemed willing to recognize the genius in Nicole Kidman's work. Twenty years later,...

While that came as a devastating blow to his fans, friends, and family, it seems that Cruise was even more heartbroken by how the course of events had turned out for him and his now ex-wife back in the day.
In fact, if anything, the heart-rending way he responded to questions about their split during interviews perfectly sums up the love and utter respect he had for Kidman in his heart.
