Vengeance (2022)
Wow I am impressed and moved
Expected a dark comedy with "Ryan" from The Office but man was I wrong. This gets deeper and deeper. The characters become relatable and real. They remind you of someone you know. The lead character grows up in front of your eyes. The lined and longer monologues written for Ashton Kutcher's character are nothing short of brilliant! I did laugh throughout but definitely not the type of humor I expected and I imagine that was the point. The only sad part is that those who truly should see the point of Ashton Kutchers final speech, will miss that point.
One of the best movies I've seen all year.
Animal Kingdom (2016)
Pleasantly Surprised
Shawn Hatosy & Ellen Barkin deliver impressive performances! Jake Weary, Ben Robson, & Finn Cole do well at portraying their characters as well. Characters go from liked to hated back to liked again with some good writing. Fun show all around. Yes, some robberies are far fetched but isn't that the point. Each character develops their own depth and reasons for living a life of crime. Dennis Leary makes a few episodes playing his usual assh0le self so that was fun. There are definitely some sex scenes that may turn you off but we all have a fast forward button so use it or don't complain. I'm only on Season 4 so hopefully the show doesn't end on a lame note like many do.
Britannia (2017)
Wow! S1 is good but S2 is amazing
Some impressive acting here! MacKenzie Cook as Veran & Haka is ridiculously good! I didn't even recognize him. He transforms and shows some acting chops! Julian Rhind-Tutt as Phelan goes through such change as a character. Very good. Nikolaj Lie Kaas nailed his role as Divis. Very colorful very likeable character portrayal! Young Eleanor Cox does a bang up job and should be paid attention to. Hugo Speer as Lucius goes through a major transformation as well! Love to reference and connection to Jesus. Great twist and believable. Jodie McNee as Willa The Witch kills it. What a fun character and she was all of it! Zaqi Ismail as the shrooms soldier was a blast to watch. When you watch that scene you can tell someone who's gone on a magical journey consulted hahaha. David Morrissey shows once again what a good villain he makes. This show is right up there with GOT or Black Sails and deserves massive attention!
Better Call Saul (2015)
Bob Odenkirk shines
Watching the character development of Jimmy to Saul as well as Mike's character and motivation was surprisingly satisfying. Bob Odenkirk does such a good job playing multiple different facets of his character. Wasn't expecting much and ended up loving it!
In a Valley of Violence (2016)
Good old school style Western
Anyone complaining is obviously missing the point. This was a good old fashioned Western with plenty of fun. Like all spaghetti, it's supposed to have a little cheese. Sit back and enjoy and don't over think it.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
Holy Moly
Wow Vince Vaugh stepped far away from what we've ever seen from him AND KILLED IT! Literally. Violent, graphic, even made me cringe when I heard that sound! No spoilers but you know the part if you've seen it. This is a crazy ass movie.
Banshee (2013)
Crazy show gets more & more graphic
Starts off violently and sexy and ends very violently. You hate the bad guys and root for your hero to kick every one of their ass which he does in graphic fashion. Great sex scenes. Gets deep and gets dark as you go. Some noticeable actors in it. Tom Pelphrey surprised the hell outta me! (the crazy brother from Ozark). Demetrius Grosse did great and you'll cheer for him. Ulrich Thompson slays throughout! You hate him then you like him. Very well written. Geno Segers is a terrifying human being that needs to be in LOTS more roles as a bad guy or one helluva enforcer good guy. Who is this beast and why have we not seen him more?!
Longmire (2012)
This must be the most ghetto town in WY
Damn good show. Just accept that this little town wouldn't have the amount of crime portrayed in such a small time and enjoy. Walt is a straight up G! Highly likeable hero who does not waiver on his morals. Excellent bad guys throughout and some good plot twists where you may even find yourself siding with the bad guy here and there. Henry is awesome as well!
Kingdom (2014)
Spoiler Alert below
Loved S1 & S2 but S3 time jumped with zero explanation after leaving off at some serious life changing moments at the end of S2. The jumping around continues throughout S3 and even though you can follow along, it's annoying and seems rushed. Biggest killer for me was that you killed the ONLY good person in your entire show?! Come on! Sure it was emotion provoking and all but s u c k e d. And where was his BF on the beach?
Reprisal (2019)
Good writing & colorful characters
Entertaining show that surprises you at least once every episode. Lead characters do a good job. The writing is good. The characters are fun and engaging. Badass show!
The Public (2018)
One of the best movies I've seen in a long time
Gripping, Funny, Real, Right outside your door, emotional, and makes you think. GO SEE THIS and tell others. Michael K Williams definitely deserves an award! Bravo Emilio for making this movie.
The Dirt (2019)
Pretty accurate Very entertaining
Been following the band for years and based on past interviews, this seems pretty darn accurate. Helps the band insisted on not making this PG13 and wanted it to be real.
