Accidentally in Love (2021)
Decent story material, horribly put together.
Well... I stumbled across this movie on Peacock. I watched the trailer and it seemed like a sweet romcom so I started watching it. The first thing that annoyed me was the music and sound effects. It's so bad. At several points in the movie where Edie asks James questions or someone else asks Edie a question there's this spooky space alien type music. I'm thinking a UFO is about to land. Another thing is that this RomCom plays like a skit or something. The cinematography is off at times too. Very off putting. I wanted to know what happened to James mostly so I hung in and watched the whole movie. The actors are decent, it's just the movie wasn't put together well.
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
Watch the Show then Read the Book.
I read the book and am now watching the show and noooo... I can't do it. I told my daughter all about this and she really wanted to watch it so we're doing it but if it weren't for her I wouldn't be watching. They changed all the good parts of the book. It's disappointing.
Rise (2018)
Great Show! Fingers Crossed for Season2!
My teen daughter and I watch this show together. We were instantly hooked. There's not a single character we don't like. Except maybe the principal and PTA! If you're reading reviews make sure you check the date. This is a new show and any reviews that are from March really don't reflect what the show is about now. This show is good. If you are a parent or teen you understand the issues in this show. Especially so if you are a parent of a fine arts student or the student in fine arts. You work your tails off to peruse your passions and you have to some times fight for funding or permissions. Beyond that, this show deals with normal every day family issues in today's world. If you watch through this season and don't relate to one of the characters in some sort of way by the time you are finished with season 1 I will be very surprised. If that's the case, maybe this show isn't for you.
*and yes I know that as of this review date season 1 isn't finished.*
