Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie (2023)
BRILLIANT
Big Monk Fan
Own every episode on DVD. Have seen the entire series multiple times.
Have seen all the extras on each DVD.
Saw the web shorts during COVID.
This Movie is Brilliant.
It was better than anyone could have reasonably expected.
The entire crew is back!
Natalie, Captain Stottlemeyer, Lt. Discher, Dr. Evan Bell all played by the original actors. Tony Shaloub's wife makes another great appearance. Shout out to Harold.
Move has the same pace and rhythm as the series.
I'd like to think of it as the first episode of Season 10.
Hey, if Columbo can do it, why not?
I am off to watch the Movie again!
The Andy Griffith Show: Opie's Charity (1960)
Tom Shelby and Horatio
With out doubt this is one of the greatest episodes of any show.
The episode combines 2 separate stories that connect at a single point. The plot is straight from the Twilight Zone and the dialogue between Opie and Andy is Emmy Award worthy. Poor Horatio. You got a brass set Tom Shelby.
What is most amazing is that Ron Howard is only 5 years old and has to memorize his lines after his father Rance Howard spoon feeds them to him.
Aunt Bea is great as well dressing down Andy.
Also, the whole episode is like a stand up routine by Andy.
Of course Andy is Andy Griffith who started his career as a stand up comedian.
A must see.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Maisel vs. Lennon: The Cut Contest (2022)
Another Emmy for Alex Borstein
Alex Borstein is stealing the series as Susy.
Tony Shaloub is still my favorite in his reincarnation of Monk and is great in every episode.
The character of Susy is really right up there.
Kudos to Marin Hinkle as Mrs. Weissman. Kevin Pollack as Moishe Maisel is spot on. Luke Kirby is perfect as Lenny Bruce. Jane Lynch is great as Sophie Lennon.
Looking forward to Rachel Brosnahan's lead character Mrs. Maisel breaking through and going on tour again.
I hope the series gets picked up for season 5.
Enjoy the episode and series.
American Experience (1987)
Fabulous
I look forward every day to seeing the next episode of American Experience. This is a keeper. Have the DVD. Would like more extras. Overall great picture.
Shameless Hall of Shame: Fiona: Go Fiona On Them (2021)
Emmy Rossum gets a Bronx Cheer
Fantastic. If you followed the Emmy Rossum pay spectacle you will appreciate the episode!
Anatomy of a Murder (1959)
Most accurate Court and reality of a criminal defense case.
Pure perfection in the Court and outside except for the legal secretary having no personal life.
Highly recommended.
All in the Family: The Elevator Story (1972)
Television History
Easily one of the top episodes of all time with an all star cast. Not to be missed. This one episode epitomizes the entire series.
The Plot Against America (2020)
Brilliant and nuanced; A parable ahead of its time
This is a brilliant movie. Timing is perfect. Written years ago but relevant today making this unfortunately still timeless. People are who they are. Some hate some love some care and some do not. Anyone who expects the depth of the issue to be told in a 60 minute TV show will end up with a shallow result. Highly recommended regardless of your political views.
Archie Bunker's Place: Archie Alone: Part 2 (1980)
Carol O'Connor at his best
Who would have thought Archie was capable of being scared.
All in the Family (1971)
Brilliant. But over the top in that its audience did not get the joke.
I watch the show every night on re runs and I have yet to be bored or feel like I saw it before. Absolutely brilliant series. Unfortunately the joke is still on the stupid.
Death Wish (2018)
Great remake
I did not expect much but I was happily surprised.
I always thought the 32 caliber in the first Death Wish was a good example of ignorance on the part of the director or screan writer
