Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Emotional and wonderful
I think this was a great film. Its more emotional and humane. Sure, there's only a handful of action scenes and maybe people are used to them. It wasn't needed in this movie. Its more about human consciousness and morality, what's wrong and what's right. You gain things in life but always have to lose something in order to get it, but at what cost? That's the lesson of this film. You don't need big explosions and epic posing with triumphant music in the background. Its a beautiful film.
Dam California (2012)
An excellent film
"Dam California" as its intro explains, is a work of fiction based on actual events in California (the water rights in 2008.) It takes several stories and interweaves them together to create a whole picture about how one person's choice ultimately affects the area surrounding them, in this case, the small town of Daly City, California. A large water company plans to build dams that will destroy a small towns agricultural lifestyle and force families to sell their beloved farms.
The film jumps between the story of Michael Rodriguez (Josh Reyes) who is a recently discharged Marine and a group of scientists, Dr. Megan Connors (Sarah Poynter), Dr. Shiller (Scott Myers), and Brad (Scott Reeves) who are opposing the large water company, appropriately named "Poseidon."
It's part documentary, part action and tells its story in a unique style. For local residents of California and northern Nevada, you will recognize familiar sights throughout the film that are accurately depicted.
I give this film a 10/10 purely for its accuracy on multiple levels (acting, connecting with the audience, reflecting current events going on in the world today, and for the character development and captivating story line.)
