Taken (2008)
delivery ding dong
this has been a great ride, great over the top martial arts techniques, terrific actor(lead role), and the story line doesn't even get in the way ones. don't expect no poetry symbolism or metaphor's, just be prepared to get excited by the visual imagery, and blown away by the total demolition of a bunch of bad guys. hand to hand combat, shootouts, screaming girlie's. what more could you ask for if you just want to relax and forget rational thinking.
i give it a 9 out of ten, because it delivers without pretending to be something its not. the focus lies on all the right things making it a worthy and strong portrayed action flick, ready to be enjoyed by the masses.
Bolt (2008)
awesome animated
another great asset to the world of animation, great and easy to follow storyline. voice acting really up to par big names, big fames, and a big surprise. as long as they make these kinds of movie's, i will keep going to the cinema to lay down some bucks for a sweet night full off entertainment. a lot of grown folks action, sweet kiddie story lines and as usual a message of love. not necessarily original nor innovative, but if you know what to expect and it gets delivered in a proper and funny way, i cant really be concern with those details. don't think about it too much and just have a relaxing and refreshing blast.
Bedtime Stories (2008)
no need for greatness to enjoy a kiddie's movie
its really hard for me to swallow.that hes getting bashed so frequently and people just seem to misunderstand his comical talent for being retarded. to me Adam Sander really is a great guy who just doesn't take things as serious as most people criticizing him do. he has played a'lot of strong parts without acting all goofy and mind boggling crazy, where there were glimpses of his capacity and potential but i feel few people take the time to contemplate that side off the medal like his role in Spanglish, punch drunk love, and other flicks i wont mention(l). this is a movie meant for kids but also for adults who feel they need a break from everyday stress and occupational environments full off chaos and restrictions. not having to use your brain and just dream away, getting in touch with your inner child and remembering forgotten childhood memories. thats how id interpret it but to each his own i'm not trying to force his character on anyone, but i feel some people should give it an honest chance you might get really awkwardly positively surprised. don't expect much of this particular film, but enjoy it on a less reluctant level.
Seven Pounds (2008)
enthralling
its a beautiful movie with a great role by will smith he really lives up to the expectations time on time again it felt is real as can be, and he outdid his previous roles. its a moving cinematic pleasure with a very endearing message. if your an emotional person it will certainly get to you in a good way without being disappointing i have enjoyed every minute of it and i loved the fact it keeps you guessing and when you get it it hits you hard no feel good happy stuff but money well spend can even go as far as saying its Oscar material on many levels and aspects almost impossible not to get something out of this heartwarming story
