Under the Vines (2021)
Just wonderful!!!
I'm not sure why I don't give a ten...there must be SOMETHING wrong with this show but I'll be damn if I can figure it out!
Fell in love with this show in season 1 and have been waiting quite awhile for season 2....
this show is superb.... New Zealand in all it's rolling vine filled hills.
The texture of the film, the softness. The sheer beauty of the entire show. I am rambling like a school boy stammering trying to ask a girl out.
But the whole show fits perfectly, the writing is solid, the characters are wonderful, and the cast is incredible with a warmness that flows off the screen. With the world in the state it is in this is such a refreshing story.
The last scene in season 1, final episode says it all.
And I absolutely adore not just how well the characters fit together but I am shocked at the perfection of casting everyone, especially. Rebecca Gibney and the adorable "newcomer" Trae Te Wiki, just perfect.
Yes, it is a ten, (I originally was at 9 but I've convinced myself, it doesn't get any better than this!) it makes me want to jump for joy.
Leverage: Redemption (2021)
Clever show but....
I was enjoying the silliness of this show. It is clever with a decent cast. Sort of like a do-gooders Mission Impossible. I think though that after watching the new season 2 of Redemption the characters are going to get pigeon holed in the same ol' same ol....time would tell...if I were going to stick around.
I am not am I am sure no one in the production will care.
I have always been able to pick up on throwaway lines of virtue signaling for many decades, but now if you don't agreed with some twit Hollywood writer doing one for the "cause" you get cancelled. Well I don't wait around for this generation to oppose the very fundamental right to have an opinion.
I'm not going to waste my time pointing out the episode but when a child character tells me that she's lived through a new generation of Nazi's (as if she actually knew what she is talking about) it's time for my deplorable dollars to go elsewhere.
NCIS: Los Angeles (2009)
Barely Watchable anymore....
NCIS LA is not the show it use to be, it is in one word...tired.
Since the cast has had a revolving door , an obvious sign of fatigue, the lose of key folks and the popping in an out of main characters with weak storylines it is a struggle just to watch the attempt to continue.
The constant sneaking in of virtue signalling is none stop and iI suppose the writers, both new and old have gotten the memo to satisfy the network AND NOT THE FAITHFUL VIEWERS.
Horrible, horrible & horrible. So, so tired of the Deek's BS, suddenly they are nothing more than whiny children while trying to portray I am woman hear me roar is more prevalent, as it is in many shows.
The only saving grace is Gerald McRainey, bless his heart, trying to hold the pieces of this show together but instead is now just the grumpy old man of the right. Confused by the "woke-ism" of the new society of the few, once again not thinking about the faithful who have supported the show for 12 seasons.
Time for it to go but whatever replaces it will surely be worst if the network has it's way.
Fire Country (2022)
Another Max Hit!
The show will be a hit. There I said it, great pilot. Once the obligatory virtue signaling was out of the way it jumped off the screen with solid characters, plot & instantly explosively engaging.
Max Theriot has become the 20 year overnight sensation who's come into his own. He obviously has the Hollywood juice these days.
Hell, he's got the goods, right? Looks, voice, talent....he's this decades version of what Tom Selleck was in the 80's & 90's. I don't think he can do too much wrong at this point. Also happy to see he remains totally involved with SEAL Team.....he is a great draw.
I never really give 10's especially this early in the series so starting out with a 9 I took one off for the seemingly over used signaling which is very tiresome and over used.
The Gray Man (2022)
Seriously?
It starts fine, then goes on and on and on....to become laughingly rediculous. Chris Evans has become insufferable arrogant no matter whether he's a good guy or a bad one.
I endured it to the obvious ending.
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
The one that all else are compared to..,
There's a saying in the business, if you weren't in this film you weren't working! Almost every superstar of the 50s and 60s were in this film also appearances by Edward Everett Horton and the infamously great buster Keaton round out this incredible cast. This romp is an over-the-top performance by every single member of the cast. The insanity just keeps climbing all the way through to the very end.
This film was and still remains one of my all-time favorites for its lunacy and it's chaos. It must have been a romp and a hoot to be in this on this or part of this movie. Thank God it was made!
Lightspeed (2006)
OMG!!!!!!!!!
This movie is really not worth the time to review especially since the previous reviews have nailed it, however I must add my 1 cent 'cause it ain't worth two....
I saw this listed somewhere and went for it based on one thing and one thing only...Stan Lee's name was in the title. That should have been enough to warn me that no one would even think about this movie if his name was not attached.
Ya' know when you hear like the first lines spoken in some films that you know ...WOW! This is gunna be really bad?
Well, WOW!
Spot on.......the writing is crap, the actors are crap, the over all production is well, You guessed it....
The music makes this movie obviously well you know.
I must admit that once I surfed it looking for a bright hope I was wrong!
One of the worse pieces of garbage that I have tripped over in a while.
It is UNWATCHABLE.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Down the Rabbit Hole (2022)
Isn't it amazing!?
Isn't it amazing that after getting rid or tempering all the woke garbage the writers actually came up with a couple of really really good episodes. I gave him a nine just because of the effort that was involved, it's a reward. As far as television is concerned that's probably about as good as you're going to get for a weekly Network television show that's been on for 13 years.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
A Fun Friday Nite Release from the Week
I am sorry to hear of the cancellation of this show.
While much worse CBS shows are allowed to insult the intelligence of the viewer this show made no attempt to disguise what it is, entertainment.
So what was so bad about the show? Hawaii too beautiful? Cast not controversial enough? I suspect I know....not. WOKE ENOUGH!
Nothing to shield the eyes of our children from, no same gender kissing, no painful insertion of different cultures, I guess the Hawaiian people weren't persecuted enough!, and I can't remember the last time the bad guys weren't white extremist militants......guess this is punishment for the crew, cast and followers.
Losing a production in Hawaii hurts the economy of the islands and it's people...but at least we can still watch "Kat" and listen to canned laughter of banal sitcoms.
The Adam Project (2022)
So how old IS that dog?????
I did not know that golden retrievers could live to 30 years old! With a mistake like that we could be watching Hot tub Time machine 2. This is a very sweet film, the kid plays Ryan Reynolds really well, delivers great lines. I'm expecting Deadpool any moment. But seriously this is a very nice film, watching it on a lazy rainy Saturday morning.
Peacemaker: It's Cow or Never (2022)
They just CANNOT help themselves.....
I really enjoyed this season of Peacemaker. Lots of surprises, hilarious and very entertaining.
The show more or less survived all the way through episodes 1-8 but then like watching a possible Triple Crown winner who stumbles at the finish line some moron just cannot help themselves so they can go home and puff out their chests so they can say "see, there, I showed 'em, I did." Like Sheldon Cooper thinking "you've been burned.". The stupidity of the woke nation actually lecturing that the world is ending and it's due to the "populous president" blah, blah, blah.....funny when they spit out these asInine liberal/Marxist dog whistle statements they only prove just how twisted their unwanted opinions truly are....preach some more please.... I hear the bandwidth widening when everyone with a brain turns the medium, whichever it might be...OFF.
NCIS: Hawai'i: Spies, Part 1 (2022)
Beulah...nice accent.
Seriously, someone else posted that they should have kept Junior Reins, it would have made a lot of sense but writers out of California did it again, no brains. And whose idea was it to give Beulah a New Zealand accent? He obviously had trouble keeping what was a come again, go again New Zealand accent ......not.
NCIS: Los Angeles: A Land of Wolves (2022)
It's over....
This show has run its course. They've run out of story lines. So now every week we are captives of nothing more than virtue signaling. They canceled the wrong ncis. Should have stuck with New Orleans at least that was a great City to look at. This show is done. And I think I'm done with it.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Divided We Fall (2021)
How refreshing....
See how good a show can be when there's no signal virtuing. A breath of fresh air. A decent storyline.....
An interesting story.........really not much to add just decent TV.
NCIS: Hawai'i: The Tourist (2021)
Finally...
It's about time! The show is FINALLY getting interesting. At this rate the only reason to tune in is to look at Hawaii. That was the only reason to watch NCIS NOLA...this one is heading for the same fate.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Indentured (2021)
Seriously?
Right friggin' militia AGAIN? Really sucking on the corporate virtue signaling for two weeks in a row is becoming more than I care to waste my evening watching.
I has watched every episode since the beginning and I think this is the beginning of the end for me. Gerald McRainy can't save this crap.
Blue Bloods: Protective Instincts (2021)
It's about time...
Abigail's character has been way over due for expansion. It is about time, it's great the way she can handle Frank Reagan. In the same episode the commissioner handles the mayor brilliantly but Abigail controls the office and finally everyone knows.
NCIS: Los Angeles: Fukushu (2021)
Can you lecture us more?
We get it. Hate crime. Got it. Less time telling us how much hate there is or how woke you are...got it 5 minutes into a redundant script. Tad preachy.
NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service: Great Wide Open (2021)
Gibbs.....
Gibbs gives us just enough twinkling smiles to assure us, he's finally happy. How could we possibly deny him, there fore we have to let him go, it is a brilliant final joyus, if you will, end for such a cherished character.
Terrence O'Hara, bravo to you and your cameraman for the final shot of Gibbs fly fishing with the camera moving on the plane taking off.
Simply stunning work.
Sso that.
Music and Lyrics (2007)
It's a romantic comedy people!
Of course it's predictable, but it's sweet and both headliners are fun and comical.
A fun film, it ain't supposed to be Shakespeare.
S.W.A.T.: Vagabundo (2021)
Just don't call it swat.
This looks like a covid driven show, Same stale story lines, with all the same old stereotypes you could hope for, Is including a veteran character known more for his Russian accents than his Irish although he did quite well. Just don't call it SWAT! More like "Walking Tall".
Goliath (2016)
Just can't give tens but boy, oh boy...
Yesterday I read these god awful ! Star reviews of E1.....damn!!!
My love of the previous seasons and for a truly talented and amazing cast decided to stick to it, well, WOW!
The scenes between Billy Bob Thornton and JK Simmons, two of my favorite and gifted talents were not to be missed. The twists and turns were excellent.
Do not listen to anyone and watch this show...
Sure it can start slowly and be confusing but it is really worth the time it takes to get there.
Glad I don't live in Willoughby.
On the other hand maybe it IS a ten. Sure beat almost everything else that's out there!
Only Murders in the Building (2021)
Funny show, interesting..
Great to see Steve Martin, lots of great characters, Gomez held on, must have learned quite a bit. The only strange thing is for some reason it kept reminding me of "The Airline Attendant ". Young woman, murder, cartoon open....but its fun.
Hawaii Five-0: A'ole e 'olelo mai ana ke ahi ua ana ia (2017)
WOW! That has to have been the dumbest...
Friggin' ending I've ever seen. P
So let me get this straight...
The chopper which Steve somehow miraculously is not only saved by but suddenly is ALONE piloting cannot lift 3 people with 4 heavy duty drop lines BUT can pickup an entire cabin with them all it it!!!??? Cannot believe they would even float this idea to the producers. Guess the drugs were really good that week!!!
Monk (2002)
Mr.Tony....
Sir, the dentist chair performance was an absolutely brilliant days work.
