Life (2007)
Great show, great acting
Excellent plots, if you have missed it, catch up by watching the full episodes on line on NBC. This program deserves a strong following of viewers. Great character development and moments of humor and insights on humanity interspersed with drama, suspense and darkness. The program mixes single stories each week with on going meta stories about each of the characters pasts-especially the story of the main character Charlie Crews who was framed for a mass murder and spent twelve years in prison before he was exonerated. We learn a little more about the past stories each week as the crime of that episode is investigated and solved. Complex and captivating show.
Big Love (2006)
Excellent, complex show
Like others I avoided watching this program because of the subject matter. I was concerned that the program would either minimize the problems (treatment of women and children) of polygamist sects represented by the compound, or on the other hand would subtly mock the LDS faith. When I finally watched an episode, these concerns were dispelled. I was so impressed by the complexity of the characters and the level of the performances that I watched all the episodes I had missed on ON DEMAND. I highly recommend this series to all individuals interested in the drama of family life. It will be very hard to wait until the second season to discover how all of the plot elements are resolved or advanced and how the dynamics of the family evolve.
