Although not as many laughs as the pilot, this episode manages to be both touching and sweet, and left this reviewer smiling throughout. The writing remains clever, the banter witty as even more bizarre sci fi inventions are revealed.
After a less than average night, Nota's boss, Lucy, makes an unfair demand of Nora in order to get her favor with a personal matter. Meanwhile in the afterlife, concerned about his behavior around the torrent last time, the staff of the lake resort suggest Nathan should seek counseling. After his session, he makes some attempts to be more social with the other uploads with mixed results and one guest who seems to know more than he should. As Nora tends to her clients Nathan reveals his concerns which leads her to further investigate on her own which may aid in leading them to an eventual truth. Nora's sweet and touching attempts to be a better Angel fail to amuse there's a critic in every crowd. A talk with Nathan proves cathartic.
Meanwhile in real life,Ingrid prepares for Nathan's funeral by indulging herself and makes plans for a VR session with him later than night with some unexpected results. Nathan, as a guest on his girlfriends account is utterly reliant upon her for his survival, whether or not he realizes this.
Another top notch episode with excellent writing and performances that only made this reviewer care about the characters even more. It was disappointing to learn that this is only a half hour show rather than the 45 minute pilot, but they don't waste a minute. Originally, it deserved an 8, but here's a 9/10 in order to improve ratings as in only appropriate in this case. Well done.
