- TriviaThe title refers to the anti aircraft weapons the U.S. supplied to Afghan fighters to shoot down Soviet air-crafts. 20 years later, some of these unused weapons would be used against American aircraft.
- GoofsWhen Paige is confronting her parents, she says, "you're going to keep on lying to me," before turning away from them and sitting at the dinner table alone. But the words don't match her lips; she apparently said something slightly different and it was dubbed over.

Very strong episode with a great performance from Holly Taylor
The tension level within The Jennings family significantly increases.
Stingers is an important and memorable episode of The Americans with some key plot developments and brilliant performances.
The cinematography and editing are excellent, helping to maximise the impact of a number of scenes to the overarching series narrative.
As always the performances are superb, with Holly Taylor, Matthew Rhys and Kerri Russell being particularly memorable.
There is little I can say about the details of the plot without spoiling so I will say nothing, except that, for me, the other review of this episode (written prior) should be disregarded as it was written by someone who appears either to have not understood one character's development or seriously oversimplifies emotion in life.
I rate it as a 9.5/10 but round upwards.
