Regular old CBS can still make new hits.
That’s the takeaway from Nielsen’s report on the 100 most-watched primetime broadcast and cable series of the 2023-24 season (via Variety), which lists the freshman drama series “Tracker” as TV’s top non-sports program. It’s the first time a new series has been the No. 1 show since “Survivor” in 2000, per CBS.
“Tracker” capitalized on its coveted post-Super Bowl series premiere slot and lack of new series competition in the midst of a strike-disrupted broadcast season, averaging 10.8 million total viewers per episode in Season 1 on the way to becoming the most-watched new series since “Desperate Housewives” in 2024-25. The series, which stars “This Is Us” veteran Justin Hartley as a survivalist who helps find missing persons, beat out second-place drama “NCIS” by more than a million viewers.
CBS also has the year’s top comedy series, the final season of “Young Sheldon.

Fans of The Curse of Oak Island will be pleased to hear that work has finally begun on the island for Season 12, which is expected to air in November.
The History Channel and The Curse of Oak Island social media accounts have not made any official announcements about the Lagina brothers’ arrival on the island, but they never do.
Work on the island usually starts in earnest in April or May, and last year, filming continued until the first week of November, which is quite impressive considering the first episode of Season 11 aired on November 7.
The show and its cast members like to keep things hush-hush, but thankfully, there are spies up in Nova Scotia.
A personal blog run by a nearby resident of Nova Scotia keeps the world updated from their social media account, Oak Island From The Other Side of The Causeway.

The Curse of Oak Island Season 11 ended this week, which, as is always the case, has left fans wondering if there will be a Season 12 and how long we will have to wait before we can start watching.
The History Channel guys are holding their cards close to their chests and have not confirmed if they will be broadcasting a new series. However, this isn’t new; the channel waits until the fall before announcing a new series.
And as we know from the Season 11 finale, the Lagina brothers and their team are more than eager to keep going. They’ve already planned where they’ll start digging for the treasure next year.
Frankly, the History Channel would be crazy not to commission another series. The show is pulling in over 2 million cable viewers every episode. And that number does not include streaming or the vast number of viewers outside the US!

The Curse of Oak Island Season 11 ends with the guys having one last go with the borehole drill to find a treasure vault before they wrap up for the winter.
After 24 episodes of some serious ups and downs, the guys won’t pause for even a second as they squeeze every last available second out of the season to get more clues, answers, and treasures.
This year’s main thrust was rehabilitation and excavation of the Garden Shaft; however, that project came to a crushing halt after flood water came gushing in. The Dumas miners will be working on the problem behind the scenes, but our guys are worried that an ancient flood tunnel may have been breached.

The Curse of Oak Island Season 11 is nearing its end. Read on to find out when you can watch the finale and what to expect. It’s been a disappointing season for some History Channel fans. However, if nothing else, it expanded a lot of knowledge about the Vikings and the Knights Templar.
Season 11 Of The Curse of Oak Island So Far
Expectations were high for Season 11 and Rick Laguna gave viewers the impression that it would be the best season yet. Unfortunately, many History Channel viewers grow tired of the show which hasn’t found much treasure. The show seems great at spawning more and more theories with little to show regarding riches. Some History Channel viewers start to believe that if there was treasure there, hunters took it away long ago.

The Curse of Oak Island: Team discovers clues that a Viking ship may be the ship buried in the swamp
The Curse of Oak Island team has found evidence that the ship thought to be buried in the swamp is a Viking ship and that the Vikings helped the Templar Knights bring treasure to the island.
Time is running out for this season of Oak Island, and there’s already an end-of-semester feel about the last couple of episodes. However, Rick Lagina and the guys have gathered some great data on their field trip to Europe.
The guys have been attempting to retrace the path Templar Knights may have taken through Europe on their way to Oak Island. They have visited Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, and finally, Iceland.
Last night, the team visited a Viking Ship museum in Iceland and had the opportunity to stand on a recreated Viking ship. The ship’s builder informed the guys that this type of vessel was first built in the 11th century but...

The Curse of Oak Island team has found compelling new evidence that indicates whoever constructed the massive, secretive stone structure on Lot 5 also built the Money Pit.
If this evidence is confirmed, it will prove the theory that the Lot 5 structure was a staging post or command center for burying treasure at the Money Pit.
Tonight’s episode will be The Curse of Oak Island Season 11, Episode 24, and this show is named Hairy Situation. This episode will be the penultimate of the season.
The name Hairy Situation is likely a reference to the strand of hair found last week under one of the boulders of Nolan’s Cross. The hair was found sticking out of a piece of clay, leaving the guys scratching their heads about how it got there.
Viewers can expect the team to run tests on the hair; if it’s found to be human, that would be a helluva bombshell.

The Curse of Oak Island guys discovered symbols in Europe that connected the medieval Templar Knights to the Vikings. They also found ancient runestones, which appear to be linked to the Oak Island Money Pit.
Last night’s episode saw Rick Lagina, Alex Lagina, Peter Fornetti, and Doug Crowell continuing their European adventure.
They left Italy and the Netherlands behind to travel to the “land of the Norse,” otherwise known as Denmark, one of the Scandinavian countries where Vikings were prevalent.
The guys and historical investigators believed they were following in the footsteps of the Templar Knights, who may have traveled in the 13th century from Jerusalem up through Europe and rendezvoused with the Vikings who helped take them to North America.
The Knights were likely lugging ancient treasures taken from Solomon’s Temple, including the Ark of the Covenant and the Golden Menorah.

This week on The Curse of Oak Island, the guys start drilling for precious metals in the Baby Blob area near the Garden Shaft.
Also, on tonight’s show, Rick Lagina and a few of the guys will continue their European odyssey, uncovering links between the Templar Knights and the Vikings. And there’s an “astounding” find at Nolan’s Cross.
The borehole drill team, led by geologist Terry Matheson, finally begins exploratory drilling in the Baby Blob area this week.
This area is a few feet west of the Garden Shaft, where geoscientist Dr. Ian Spooner claims there’s a large amount of precious metal buried between 80 and 120 feet.
The guys had previously held off drilling here so the Dumas miners could safely excavate the Garden Shaft. But with that project on indefinite hiatus, Terry and his team can finally move in.

The Curse of Oak Island guys have been exploring castles, abbeys, and underground tunnels in Europe that have provided more compelling clues that the Templar Knights may have traveled to Oak Island.
Oak Island researcher and author Corjan Mol and his buddy, historian Jacquo Silvertant, took Rick and Alex Lagina, along with Peter Fornetti and Doug Crowell, to an underground stone quarry hidden in the Dutch countryside.
Jacquo claimed construction had begun on the quarry in the 13th century, around the time the guys believe the Templars secretly transported ancient religious relics to Oak Island.
Corjan and Jacquo led the guys through a maze of huge underground cavernous tunnels, which they think were used by the Templars to hide and temporarily store their treasure in the 13th century.
These tunnels were all hand-dug, which gave us a good idea of the engineering expertise of people from centuries ago.

The Curse of Oak Island team has begun excavating a new human-made circular stone feature in the swamp near Nolan’s Cross, which could be the spot where ancient Christian relics are buried.
This week’s episode started with disappointment. The rehabilitation and excavation of the Garden Shaft was the primary focus of this season, but it has been plagued with problems.
Dumas representatives informed Rick Lagina and the guys that approximately 479 gallons of seawater were currently gushing into the shaft, and pumping out such a quantity of water would make the whole structure unstable.
That means the project is on hold while the Dumas miners figure out what is the best option. Unfortunately, we are careering toward the end of the season, which sadly means that could be the end of the project for Season 11.
Thankfully, the guys have plenty to keep them occupied, and they’ve switched focus...

On The Curse of Oak Island this week, the team uncovers a brand new stone feature at the exact spot where an expert told them to dig for the Ark of the Covenant.

The archaeologists came up winners this week. Jamie Kouba found a piece that was 90 percent silver. The hand-forged piece was likely part of a decorative tassel.
The high silver content meant this was technically classed as actual treasure. Archaeologist Laird Niven admitted that in 40 years, he had never found anything like it.
So far, the guys don’t know how old it is or where it came from, but last night, that didn’t matter; they finally had treasure!
On the same day, Jamie also uncovered a copper button gilded with a thin layer of gold.

There is great excitement on The Curse of Oak Island this week, as the team finds an authentic silver artifact at the rectangular stone feature on Lot 5.
Tonight’s show is Season 11, Episode 19, of The Curse of Oak Island, and the episode is titled Hi Ho Silver, a not-so-subtle clue that they will find a very important and precious artifact.
The archaeologists have spent the last few months quietly unearthing a massive stone structure on Lot 5, which is constantly bringing up more questions than answers. The feature appears to be a complex building, too large to be a home, that was mysteriously buried at some point over 200 years ago.
The team suspects the location was used as a base for significant activity in the Money Pit area.
The guys have found numerous artifacts, mainly dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, but they have also recovered everything from Roman coins to Venetian beads.

This week on The Curse of Oak Island, the guys dated two artifacts from the Garden Shaft as original depositor items, and a new expert explained how the Vikings may have aided the Templar Knights in bringing treasures to the island.
The Dumas miner guys pulled up a series of old-looking beams from 100 feet below ground at the bottom of the Garden Shaft. The team had assumed these were part of a tunnel; however, they did not find a tunnel-shaped structure.
The guys speculated that the tunnel’s walls and ceiling had been previously removed, leaving only the floor. It could be disappointing if they can’t find a defined tunnel; they obviously cannot follow it to the treasure.
Now for some good news. Blacksmith Carmen Legge and archaeo-metallurgist Emma Cullingan combined their brain power and technology to examine two small iron artifacts found with the wood beams at the bottom of the Garden Shaft.

The Curse of Oak Island team unearths a new ancient structure in the swamp, and they learn more about how the Vikings may have traveled to the island.
This week, the History Channel airs Season 11, Episode 18, of Oak Island, and the show is called May the Norse Be With You, an obvious clue that the Vikings/Norsemen will likely feature.
In the meantime, Billy Gerhardt has uncovered yet another human-made structure in the swamp, on this occasion, it’s a wooden wall. Geoscientist Ian Spooner is on hand to point out that the red clay found by the wall is the same material found under the stone roadway, which would “push it further back in time.”
Some theories on the roadway date it back 500 years and more, which could mean that this wall is incredibly old, too. We already have structures such as the paved area dating back to 1200. So,...

The most recent episode of The Curse of Oak Island saw a discovery that might connect two historical groups. The team has always believed the Vikings made their way to the island. They also feel that the Knights Templar hid treasure on the island. A brand-new discovery makes them think that the Vikings and Knights Templar might have worked together on Oak Island.
Here is what the team found and why they connected it to both the Knights Templar and Vikings.
Curse Of Oak Island Connects Knights Templar To Vikings
There are three stone monuments on Oak Island and the team there thinks they point the way to the hidden treasure on the island. However, they have a new theory about these monuments. The Curse of Oak Island team learned that three stone monuments on the island were built in the 13th century, and the likely builders were the Templar Knights.
In another twist on this theory, a chance find of an artifact left the team wondering if the Knights had help from the Vikings.
Last week, the Lagina brothers asked archaeoastronomer Professor Adriano Gaspani to follow up his previous work on Nolan’s Cross by examining two more stone monuments.
Gaspani examined the positioning of the stone cairns on Lot 15 and the stone triangle on the southern beach and confirmed they were built in alignment with the stars, moon, and sun.
The professor declared that he was 100 percent sure the stone cairns were built in 1250 Ad, and last year, he claimed Nolan’s Cross was constructed in 1200 Ad.
Gaspani said that the know-how to create these structures could only come from someone with a knowledge of navigation,...

This week’s The Curse of Oak Island showed compelling theories of human activity dating way back to the 1200s and argued that these ancient folk may be responsible for the Oak Island mystery.
A lot of last night’s airtime was taken up by the guys worrying about the approach of Hurricane Lee and their concern it might cause damage to the Garden Shaft, Lot 5, and elsewhere.
Perhaps for that reason, this episode was heavy on the theory. First, the guys were joined in the War Room by one of Ian Spooner’s colleagues, geoscientist Aaron Satkowski, to discuss his isotope analysis of two artifacts pulled out of the ground in the Money Pit area.
Aaron examined two pieces of wood, including an ax, excavated from the spoils of the old RF1 caisson at about 180 feet.

The Curse of Oak Island team must brace themselves as they find themselves in the path of a destructive hurricane, and there’s more digging in the swamp and an analysis of samples from the Money Pit area.
Tonight will see The History Channel’s Season 11, Episode 16, of The Curse of Oak Island. This episode is called Dark and Stormy, clearly a reference to the hurricane bearing down on the island.
Unfortunately, the Oak Island guys are subject to the whims of Mother Nature, and the often harsh climate regularly stops them in their tracks. The team ceases operations every winter as the cold weather descends.
The guys already endured flood damage at the Garden Shaft earlier in the season, and now it seems as though they’ve got a hurricane to deal with. This is likely Hurricane Idalia, which struck Nova Scotia last August, or perhaps Hurricane Lee, which hit in September.

The Curse of Oak Island guys have found a direct link between the strange stone structures on Lot 5 and the Money Pit.

This week, on The Curse of Oak Island, the guys were busy all over the island as they continued uncovering more features in the swamp and more jewelry and coins on Lot 5.
Billy Gerhardt has been happily digging in the southwest corner of the swamp for the last couple of weeks, and he appears to have uncovered some interesting features. Last week, he hit some wood timbers, which the guys reckon may be a dam used to create the swamp.
This week, Billy uncovered some more similar stones adjacent to the old stone roadway, which made the guys conclude that they were likely an extension of the possible 500-year-old road.
The team believes they are right at the edge of either the stone road or a wharf and right at a loading zone. They are now trying to figure out exactly where the swamp/road ended and where the beach began.

The Muon Tomography survey stated there was a possible object/void at about 180 feet below, and that data tied in with an obstruction encountered six years ago with a large caisson.

The Curse of Oak Island team believes the Chappell Vault is buried in the Money Pit area at a depth of 180 feet, and they know exactly where to dig. The guys have also uncovered a structure in the swamp they suspect may be a dam.
This week on Oak Island, there were beaming smiles all around the War Room as geologist Terry Matheson had some major news.

However, a preview for tonight suggests the guys have hit another void at 183 feet somewhere within the area of the Money Pit.
It’s not clear if they’ve started digging elsewhere away from Aladdin’s Cave, though that is a possibility as the Laginas want to put a large caisson over the Cave, meaning the drill team would need to make room.
