San Francisco, May 23 (Ians) Artifact, the AI-powered news app from Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, has launched a new feature which will let users flag articles they think are clickbait.
Users can find the option to flag something as clickbait in the three dots menu in an article or by pressing and holding on to an article in their feed.
“You can now flag articles as clickbait from the “a” menu when reading an article or from long-press when in Feed. We will use your flag as a signal in ranking so we can better prioritise helpful articles over misleading ones for the community,” Artifact said in a blogpost.
Along with Mark as clickbait feature, the company also launched other features, such as the ability to react to an article and share articles as images.

San Francisco, May 12 (Ians) Artifact, the AI-powered news app from Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, has announced a new feature that allows users to follow individual writers, making it even more of a news-focused social media app.
According to The Verge, articles from those writers will be prioritised in users’ feeds, and they can choose to receive notifications when those writers post.
Writers can also claim a verified checkmark on their profile beside their name in searches and comments on Artifact.
In addition, writers can also receive notifications about how many people read their articles on the app and when other publications link to their work.
Moreover, the report mentioned, while many people use platforms such as Twitter to discuss current events, the platform has lost its appeal.
In contrast, Artifact is emerging as a more engaging platform for news enthusiasts to connect with one another and discuss the latest happenings.

Recent charts show Valve's Artifact has suffered almost a 100% decline in popularity.
Valve's Artifact has lost almost all of its players just months after its release. The latest graph from Steam Charts, a website that tracks how many people are playing Steam games at a certain time, reveals that Artifact's daily active player count has been in steady decline for weeks now. How bad is it? Well, according to the site, Artifact's peak player count was recorded as 60,740 concurrent players. As of this writing, that number sits at just over 2,580.
While the 24-hour peak for the game was recorded at over 3,000 concurrent players, some sites report that it dropped as low as just over 1,600 concurrent players recently. Put it all together and you're talking about roughly a 97% drop-off in active players.
It's not uncommon for many games to suffer a dip in active players...

One of Valve's most notable writers has apparently returned to the company.
Erik Wolpaw, has seemingly returned to Valve after apparently having left the company in 2017 to work on Psychonauts 2.
The discussion surrounding Wolpaw's return began when Reddit user Trenchman noticed that Wolpaw's name appears in the credits for Artifact (Valve's recently released Ccg title based on Dota 2). Given that there had been no formal announcement of Wolpaw's return to the company at that point, or even vague hints, his inclusion in the game's credits struck many as being odd.
At the time, there was some discussion regarding whether or not Wolpaw had perhaps worked on Artifact in some capacity during his time with Valve. However, Reddit user Trenchman actually reached out to Gabe Newell's Valve email address and was informed that Wolpaw had indeed returned to Valve. Trenchman has posted screens of the email...

Former Valve writer Jay Pinkerton has returned to the company in an undisclosed role a year after he left, according to PC Gamer.
Reddit user OWLverlord spotted Pinkerton’s name listed on Valve’s staff page in the “Other Experts” category on Sunday. Pinkerton is perhaps best known for co-writing “Portal 2” with former Valve scribe Erik Wolpaw. He also reportedly worked on the “Team Fortress 2” comics and the “Left 4 Dead” series.
Pinkerton was one of several high-profile departures from Valve in recent years. Wolpaw left the developer in February 2017 and is now reportedly working on “Psychonauts 2” with Double Fine Productions. Another writer, Chet Faliszek, left in May 2017. His credits include two “Half-Life” episodes, the “Portal” series, and the “Left 4 Dead” series. He’s now working on a new project with Bossa Studios. “Half-Life” writer Marc Laidlaw left Valve in 2016 after 18 years because he wanted to go back to writing original stories.

Valve Corporation, the company behind gaming store and platform Steam as well as franchises as diverse as “Portal,” “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive,” and “Half-Life,” is now also home to “Firewatch” developer Campo Santo, according to a blog post on Campo Santo’s official site this weekend.
“The twelve of us at Campo Santo have agreed to join Valve, where we will maintain our jobs as video game developers and continue production on our current project, ‘In the Valley of Gods,'” according to the Saturday evening post. What you need to know about Devil May Cry 5, including latest news, release date, trailers, and much more!
Few people expected Valve's next game to be a collectible card title based on the Dota 2 universe, but that's exactly what we have in Artifact.
Before you roll your eyes, though, you might want to use them to take a closer look at this game. Artifact isn't like any other Ccg out there. Actually, it's kind of like a version of Dota 2 that you play with cards instead of with heroes and teammates. Artifact's implementation of Dota 2 staples like lanes of battle, heroes, and in-game markets is made all the more fascinating by the fact that the title also boasts some traditional - albeit hardcore - Ccg elements. Of course, that last part shouldn't be a surprise given that the game was at least partially designed by Magic: The Gathering creator,...

Jared Leto is wearing a preposterous straw hat this morning, a gigantic, not-quite-a-sombrero thing he bought for seven bucks at a corner store. And why not? He's made it this far by committing fully, sometimes crazily, to everything in his life: Method acting, music-making, video directing, tech investing, not to mention the arts of being enigmatic, brainy and really, really good-looking. "I don't dabble," he says. "I dive in, 1,000 percent." So if he needs sun protection for a hike, of course he goes big. In any case, Leto recently turned 44 — "old,...

Jared Leto gave fans a bit of a scare on Tuesday when he posted a selfie on Instagram showing off a mustache, a drastic change from his recent, scruffy, bearded look.
“How ya like my #stash! #selfie,” Leto captioned the photo.
After the success of Dallas Buyer’s Club, for which Leto won an Oscar, Leto has maintained a dependable presence in the press, with many gushing over his long hair – it is now well past his shoulders – and his scruffy beard. Needless to say many were confused as to why Leto would suddenly shave and leave himself only with a villainous mustache. Making the photo even more strange is his hair, which appeared to have been cut short below his ears.
Adding to the uncertainty, the photo was posted without any indication that the photo might be old, which had one fan commenting, “Why You Shave Beard?”

Los Angeles (AP) — Jared Leto says that while his Oscar has led to new opportunities in Hollywood, he isn't overly concerned with the trophy itself. Hi Jared! You've always struck me as a fairly private person. Do you hate giving interviews? No, not at all. But if the interview's bad, then it's no fun, and by bad I mean routine, you know? So the challenge has been set!
When you were preparing to play Rayon in Dallas Buyers Club, an HIV-positive transgender woman, did you talk to trans people and people with HIV? Yeah, definitely. I talked to transgender people and that was the education and the start of it all. I'm really grateful for those experiences.
Did you go method? I stayed in character the entire shoot. I couldn't imagine doing it another way. I'd gone too far to pick it up and drop it off.

Jared Leto has been busy these last few years with everything except acting.
As frontman for rock band 30 Seconds to Mars, the former star of '90s teen drama "My So-Called Life" has toured the world, released four albums (most recently 2013's "Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams"), and settled a multi-million dollar lawsuit with his record label. He also directed "Artifact," a documentary about that lawsuit, and has made a name for himself as a savvy investor in the tech arena.
Set at the dawn of the AIDS era in the early '80s, "Dallas Buyers Club" marks Leto's first movie role since filming the underrated "Mr. Nobody" in 2007. He plays Rayon, a transsexual who goes into business with Ron Woodruff (Matthew McConaughey), an AIDS-stricken rodeo cowboy, to import AIDS treatment drugs unapproved by the government into the U.S. The role, which saw Leto drop more than 30 pounds, recently...

Jared Leto won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture on Sunday night, and delivered quite the acceptance speech, mentioning that his role in Dallas Buyers Club required him to wax quite a bit of his body hair.

In Dallas Buyers Club, his first film in almost six years, Leto plays Rayon, a transgender prostitute who is HIV positive. Leto has received rave reviews for his work in the film, and many predicted he would take home the Golden Globe this year. Leto began his speech with a few jokes, announcing to the audience that what they saw in Dallas Buyers Club was not prosthetics or a body double.

Jared Leto is finally releasing his documentary Artifact, detailing his war with the music industry when record label Virgin/Emi sued his band 30 Seconds to Mars for $30 million in 2008.
Jared Leto's Documentary Artifact
Artifact began as a behind-the-scenes documentary of the making of the band’s album This Is War. When they began contract renegotiations with Emi during the recording process, the documentary quickly shifted into a sort of tell-all investigation into the relationship artists have with their record labels.
The movie, directed by Leto himself, first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012 where it won the People’s Choice Documentary Award, and, over a year later, is finally being released on VOD and iTunes.
“I’m excited to share our insight on how this business really works. We get down to the nitty-gritty. We talk about the business inside and out and reveal quite a few...

Awards season meteorologists (should we say astrologists?) are abuzz with predictions of possible gold in Jared Leto's future for "Dallas Buyers' Club:" the Matthew McConaughey star vehicle also features Leto's much-lauded performance of Rayon, a transgendered AIDS patient. It's Leto's first film role in four years (his last was the 2009 sci-fi drama "Mr. Nobody"), and in the meantime, Leto has spent nearly every waking hour of his life with Thirty Seconds to Mars, the rock band he leads along with his brother Shannon and Tomo Miličević, recording music and touring the world. Leto's directorial debut, the documentary "Artifact," hits iTunes today—originally planned as a making-of chronicle of the band's third album, "This Is War," it transformed into a music industry war documentary about Leto and Thirty Seconds to Mars's marathon contractual fight with their record label, Emi. While Jared Leto is being rightfully lauded for his return to acting, and a great turn in "Dallas Buyers Club" that could land him an Oscar nomination, you might have forgotten he already has a recent movie award in his pocket. Last year the Leto-directed documentary "Artifact" nabbed the People's Choice Award For Documentary at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and as it heads to VOD, a new trailer has emerged. So, what is this doc all about? It finds Leto turning the camera toward his (pretty terrible, but best-selling) band 30 Seconds To Mars, as they battle their record label in making the album This Is War. So is this another "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart," "Some Kind Of Monster" or "Meeting People Is Easy"? Well, it probably depends on how you feel about the band as our Doc NYC review reports that the behind-the-scenes stuff is fascinating,...

Jared Leto is generating some Oscar buzz for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, his first movie role in almost six years. But he was hardly sitting on his duff during that period. As the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars, Leto was touring and recording with his band, which includes his brother, Shannon, and Tomo Milicevic. The band sold millions of records, but there were some bumps along the way. Unhappy with their relationship with music behemoth Emi, Thirty Seconds attempted to opt out of its contract in 2008. The label responded by suing the band for $30 million.

Somebody please invite Jared Leto over for late-night cold cuts — the guy hasn't eaten in almost a month. When Vulture ran into him at the Ifp Gotham Awards, where he won the Audience Award for his documentary Artifact, he apologized for his fasting-induced light-headedness ... as well as his shaved eyebrows. Both are in service of a role in Dallas Buyer's Club, the same film for which his co-star Matthew McConaughey also dramatically dropped weight."I'm playing a transsexual woman," Leto said of his first film role since 2009's Mr. Nobody. "I didn't get involved in the project until a few weeks ago, three and a half weeks ago." Although the actor has changed his weight for roles before (losing for Requiem for a Dream, gaining for Mr. Nobody), he says he's trying to stay healthy this time, even if at this particular stage of his fast, he was feeling dehydrated.
