Recently, Wheel Of Fortune fans were bashing the show for giving contestants undeserving second chances. While Pat Sajak is heading toward retirement rapidly, fans are certainly noticing some “unfair” aspects of the show. Admittedly, now that the retirement is imminent, fans are wishing for more time with the beloved host.
Wheel Of Fortune Prepares For Pat Sajak’s Departure
Both Vanna White and Pat Sajak have been partners in crime for more than four decades. Sadly, Wheel Of Fortune‘s long-time legend will be leaving the show in less than two weeks. Undoubtedly, as his exit nears, Vanna is getting reminiscent of memories from over the years. Although the time is ticking away with Pat in the driver’s seat, Ryan Seacrest is primed and ready to take over. Together the duo has been on 8,000 shows through the years. “Beam me up, Scotty” is a quote as iconic as Star Trek‘s once-magical automatic doors ― even if Captain Kirk didn’t actually say it. While Star Trek wasn’t the first sci-fi creation to teleport its characters around, its pleasingly sparkly transport scenes quickly captured fans’ imaginations. However, what is beamed up isn’t necessarily what is beamed down.
Simply put, Star Trek transporters, if they were real, would kill their users along the way. No matter the technicalities over moving versus duplicating the bits that make up a Trek crewman, you cannot blast a person into atoms without ending their brain functions and destroying them. You just can’t. Try it (don’t try it). So depending on how lazy a character is, a commute from a starship bridge to the bathroom could be the last thing they ever do.
It’s something that’s fascinated and vexed...

Halloween might be over, but there are always spooks, specters, and ghosts swirling around everywhere. That's why you have to be equipped with the best paranormal extermination gear on the market, and you don't have to look any further than the classic sci-fi comedy "Ghostbusters" to know exactly what you need. Not too long ago, HasLab, the crowdfunded collectible arm of Hasbro, gave fans an incredible life-sized prop replica of Egon Spengler's proton pack and neutrona wand. But you need much more if you're going to catch and contain a ghost, and that's where HasLab's latest crowdfunding campaign comes into play.
Hasbro has started a HasLab campaign for the "Ghostbusters" Plasma Series Ghost Trap and Pke Meter. Dubbed the "Two in the Box!" collectible, this prop replica set includes two of the key "Ghostbusters" tools used to find and catch ghosts, and it's already fully funded. "Rocky IV" held the mantle as the highest-grossing sports movie for decades, solidifying its status as one of the best entries in the storied franchise that has followed Rocky Balboa from the hard streets of Philly to the cold mountain tops of Siberia. The Oscar-winning original, and "Rocky II" to an extent, kept Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) grounded in an inspirational drama about a determined underdog who defied all odds to get a shot at the title. In "Rocky," the Italian Stallion went from a publicity stunt for Apollo Creed to being reevaluated as a serious contender. The public at large and the entire sports world woke up to Rocky Balboa and they were suddenly forced to take him seriously.
The audience watching "Rocky" already knew his true character way before he ever entered the ring, because we saw the struggles of his solitary, lonely life and the internal battles he was already fighting.

“Basic Instinct” was a landmark for erotic thrillers, and few of its kind have bested it since.
Paul Verhoeven’s twisted murder mystery debuted March 20, 1992, and grossed over $352 million worldwide as audiences fell for the psychological game between an overworked and under-loved cop (Michael Douglas) and a novelist (Sharon Stone) who might be an ice pick-wielding murderer. Jeanne Tripplehorn marked her film debut as Dr. Beth Garner.
Yet the true mystery remains just how intense the behind-the-scenes production for “Basic” really was. The San Francisco-set psychological whodunnit led to backlash, nightmares, and intense set confrontations.
Even after Stone previously starred in Verhoeven’s “Total Recall,” she had to fight her way into the audition room for “Basic Instinct.” And that famed leg-crossing interrogation scene? Well, it lacked consent about the Nsfw camera angle.
While Verhoeven later teamed up with “Basic Instinct” screenwriter Joe Eszterhas for 1995’s “Showgirls,” “Basic Instinct” spawned a 2006 sequel,...

Jonathan Frakes just returned as Will Riker this year in Star Trek: Picard, the first time he’d reprised the role in 15 years. But, in another timeline, Riker could’ve been killed off during Star Trek: The Next Generation and Frakes would’ve been playing Riker’s doppelgänger Thomas ever since.
In season 6’s “Second Chances,” the Enterprise-d crew discover that a transporter accident several years ago created a double of Riker. While he beamed back aboard the U.S.S. Potemkin, another Riker rematerialized on Nervala IV, where he was eventually discovered and rescued by Picard and co. The episode saw Riker and the rest deal with the sudden appearance of this new Riker, who took the name Thomas, before Picard got him a new posting on the U.S.S. Gandhi.

Last week, I was tasked with picking my favorite moments from the Rocky series for a piece tied to the release of “40 Years of Rocky: The Birth of a Classic,” now available on digital platforms. As a result, I ended up consuming all eight “Rocky” movies (including the two “Creed” films) over the course of 72 hours. In addition to feeling energized and a need to hum “Eye of the Tiger” nonstop, here’s a few things I picked up on during that marathon.
It’s Not About Winning — Or Boxing
Because “Rocky” went on to create a legacy of indelible characters and make over $1.7 billion at the box office, people remember cheering the big fights at the end of the films. But the first “Rocky” has virtual no boxing outside of the final match with Apollo Creed; it’s more of a character study and a love story between...

After 11 episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War” only eight former champions remain in the main game while 11 others inhabit the Edge of Extinction awaiting their last chance to leave the jury and re-enter the competition. Last week, “Cagayan” winner Tony Vlachos dominated the game from all angles, putting him in a power position as the game nears its close, but placing an even bigger target on his back as he remains only one of two players in the game without a vote cast against them.
In the coming weeks Tony’s biggest job will be keeping the eyes off of him and on other players, but that may prove difficult now that he’s betrayed the trust of his closest ally, Sarah Lacina. Tony successfully maneuvered a vote to narrowly oust Sarah’s righthand woman, Sophie Clarke, without telling her. The move promises to fracture the cop alliance, possibly pushing...

As Season 40 of CBS’s reality TV show “Survivor” continues to heat up we take a look back at some of the hottest guys to play the game in its first 20 years (see above). Among our top picks are three champions currently competing on “Winners at War” for their second win and the $2 million cash prize on season 40.
Jeremy Collins (“Second Chances” winner) is our #9 choice because of the love and devotion he showed for his wife when he first played on the blood vs. water themed season “San Juan del Sur.” On “Winners at War” he was put on a tribe with Ethan Zohn (“Africa” winner), our #6 hottest, where the two of them appear to be playing from opposing alliances formed out of a new school (Jeremy) vs. old school (Ethan) divide.

In theory a game of “Survivor” featuring only champion players should mean that the two tribes start on an even playing field, but after three episodes of “Survivor: Winners at War” it seems the Sele tribe players are on a quickly sinking ship. Plagued by a does-it-or-doesn’t-it-exist divide between “old school” and “new school” players, Sele has failed to come together to win two of the three immunity challenges in the game so far, forcing them to attend tribal council where they voted to send Natalie Anderson and Danni Boatwright to the Edge of Extinction.
Now, heading into Wednesday’s fourth episode, eight players remain at Sele: self-identified “new school” players Jeremy Collins (“Second Chances”), Ben Driebergen (“Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers”), Michele Fitzgerald (“Kaoh Rong”), Adam Klein (“Millennials vs. Gen X”) and Denise Stapley (“Philippines”) and self-identified “old school” players Rob Mariano (“Redemption Island”), Parvati Shallow (“Micronesia”) and...

Robin Wright broke her silence on the allegations against her “House of Cards” co-star Kevin Spacey on “Today” almost two months ago, saying that she only knew the actor rather than the man. In a new interview with Net-a-Porter, Wright says she believes in second chances, even as they pertain to Spacey.
“I don’t know how to comment on that, I really don’t,” Wright began, when asked whether she thinks Spacey will ever deserve a career reprieve. “I believe every human being has the ability to reform. Has the ability to reform. In that sense, second chances, or whatever you are going to call it – absolutely, I believe in that. It’s called growth.”
Wright reaffirmed her “Today” statement that she has not been in touch with the actor, and said “he’ll reach out when he’s ready, I’m sure. I think that’s the way it should go.

Tracy Morgan wants to be clear: “The Last O.G.” is not “a black show.”
“We don’t only explore the black community, but humanity,” he told critics at the Television Critics Association press tour Thursday. “It’s not a black show. It’s about humanity — second chances, redemption.”

Second chances, of course, are a deeply personal theme for Morgan, following a catastrophic car accident in 2014 he barely survived. In fact, when asked why he wanted to surround himself with a strong ensemble in “The Last O.G.”, he directly referenced that incident.
“Maybe I’m just a better man now since the accident,” he said. “It’s not about me — it’s bigger than me. I’m fortunate to have these folks around me.”
“The Last O.G.” stars Morgan as Tray, a former convict who returns to the free world after 15 years in jail.

While everyone else in Westeros is dourly assessing how they’ll fight various wars, the Season 7 premiere, “Dragonstone,” found Samwell Tarly working the early days of training to be a maester. The montage of Sam serving soup and cleaning poop was both hilarious and gross, and has inspired the Internet to create all sorts of remixes. Here are a few of the best. 11. “Rocky IV” montage The “Rocky” films are packed with classic montages, making them pretty good inspiration for a Samwell remix. This one borrows the song “Hearts on Fire” by John Cafferty from “Rocky IV.” Watch it here.

Similar to how Harrison Ford has circled back to portray a number of famous roles from yesteryear (see: Blade Runner 2049, Indiana Jones 5), Hollywood veteran Sylvester Stallone is no stranger to indulging in a little nostalgia from time to time, too – even if that nostalgia takes on the form of a tongue-in-cheek ensemble movie in the vein of The Expendables.
Case in point: Creed, Ryan Coogler’s Rocky spinoff movie that took that fundamental underdog story, slapped on a new lick of paint, and delivered a powerful, moving boxing film revolving around one Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan).
Balancing the old with the new, Coogler’s hard-hitting drama still made room for Stallone’s Rocky Balboa, who assumed the role of a mentor/father figure to coach the young, unrefined Adonis into a bona fide world beater. That arc will continue through the release of Creed 2, which is expected...

As much as I personally love Arrow, even I had to admit that a few missteps were taken with season 4, just as some of the cast and crew have. That said, it was all the more satisfying to see the daddy of The CW’s shared DC TV universe return to form this year, effectively serving up its best effort since season 2.
Aside from Stephen Amell continuing to be an all-around badass each week, Team Arrow gained some new recruits such as Mr. Terrific, Wild Dog and even a new Black Canary, helping to keep the series feeling fresh. Not only that, but Prometheus made for the best big bad the show’s seen since Deathstroke (who also made his return late in the game), and may have very well been the deadliest, most calculating threat Oliver Queen has encountered to date.
With that, we’re excited to say that...

Married At First Sight hit the ground running as a reality TV show that presented couples daring enough to marry total strangers. Marriage can be tough enough when you know the person you’re tying the knot with and divorce rates are soaring among traditional couples. Could this new strategy for pairing mates actually work in the real world? The popular series generated a spinoff called Married At First Sight: Second Chances which picks up where the first leaves off. Viewers get to watch their favorites who didn’t make it work in the first round have a second chance at love.

The current season of Survivor comes with the subtitle of Game Changers but it has more in common with the last all-star season of the show, Second Chances. The all-returning cast is trying more to fix the mistakes of their past season(s) than trying to do the same thing that got them a (maybe undeserved) game changers title.
For the most part, avoiding the sins of the past has worked for the contestants, even those who met an untimely end. After the merge though Zeke ran into the same problems he did on his original season and almost ended his game. While he survived, Zeke's game might be on life support for the rest of Game Changers unless he can pivot and pivot swiftly.
