There have only been 19 Egot winners in entertainment history. This acronym title is attributed to the few stars who win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony, demonstrating them to be one of the very best practitioners in each of the four major entertainment fields of TV, music, film, and theater.
Several stars are looking to become the 20th Egot winner and among those names is Taika Waititi. He won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2020 for “Jojo Rabbit,” ticking off the film segment of the Egot. He then took home a Grammy for the same film in 2021 when he won Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media. That was number two.
However, he has yet to win an Emmy or a Tony. He has never worked on Broadway, but he has reaped three Emmy bids to date. In 2020, he was nominated for Character Voice-Over Performance for playing...

Olivia Colman is in line for another successful awards season as her guest performance in FX’s “The Bear” looks set to snag her another Emmy nomination. The FX on Hulu show follows Jeremy Allen White as a chef who leaves the world of fine dining behind in order to help run his family’s sandwich shop in Chicago.
The show is packed full of superb guest spots from major names, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Sarah Paulson, Will Poulter, and Bob Odenkirk. But it’s Colman who perhaps has the best guest spot. She plays British executive chef Terry, who works at Ever, the fine dining restaurant where Ebon Moss-Bachrach‘s Richie stages.
Colman features as Terry in episode seven of season two, titled “Forks,” and critics agree that she was a standout.

London and New York-based film sales agency The Mise En Scene Company (Msc) has diversified, securing world rights to scripted series “Driven.”
The show stars Rebecca Henderson, known for her roles in “Star Wars: The Acolyte” (Disney) and “Russian Doll” (Netflix), and Liza Colón-Zayas from “The Bear” (FX).
Produced by O Positive Films in New York and created by David Shane, represented by 3 Arts Entertainment, “Driven” centers on Theodora “Teddy” Fischer (Henderson), an Uber driver and struggling post-post-modern novelist. Teddy’s life hits rock bottom after getting fired from an animated children’s show for a controversial episode and dealing with her wife’s departure. When she contemplates suicide, a ride request from Yari Alvarez, an overly confident, deaf Puerto Rican yodeler, changes her path. The encounter leads them to Yari’s parents’ McMansion, where they face rejection from Yari’s no-nonsense mother, Reina (Colón-Zayas), and an awkward confrontation with her conflict-avoidant father,...

Jake Gyllenhaal had his mind blown when the actor had a revelation during an interview for Disney’s 2022 film Strange World. The actor starred in the film with Dennis Quaid who played the father of Gyllenhaal’s character. However, Gyllenhaal got the shock of his life when he realized that this was not the only time Dennis Quaid had played his father.
Jake Gyllenhaal’s Strange World || Disney
In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Jake Gyllenhaal came to the realization that he and Dennis Quaid had actually worked in a film before. The actors had recorded their lines separately for Strange World, which gave them little time to interact with each other during the production of the film. The press junket was where the actors spent most of their time together, and a prompt from the journalist interviewing them reminded Gyllenhaal that he had shared the screen with Dennis Quaid before.

Since premiering on May 31 (the exact cutoff date for 76th Emmys eligibility), HBO’s “The Great Lillian Hall” has become an undeniably strong contender in this year’s wide-open Best TV Movie race. In the past week alone, its Gold Derby program category odds jumped from 40/1 to 18/1 while lead and supporting cast members Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates both moved closer to predicted nominee status.
“The Great Lillian Hall” has found some of its greatest support among our team of in-house editors, more than half of whom are officially on board with it and Lange being nominated. Bates – who held 100/1 general odds until last Thursday and now sits at 62/1 – is on track to at least crack said subgroup’s movie/limited supporting actress lineup very soon.
Our editors’ consensus picks have indeed changed quite a bit in the last week, with the most noticeable developments involving newly predicted winners Richard Gadd and Claire Foy.

Hits from the weekend
Streaming movies and shows made up the majority of the top five titles this past weekend, based on traffic to their IMDb pages. That’s thanks to a trio of Netflix titles and the new Star Wars series, “The Acolyte.” In theaters, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s fourth installment in the Bad Boys franchise delivered Hollywood a much-needed box office win, while ‘The Watchers’—the mystery-horror film starring Dakota Fanning—drew enough interest to land in the top 10.
By the time ‘Hit Man’ dropped on Netflix, movie fans were probably well aware of who Glen Powell was, but the popularity of the comedic action film brought more IMDb users’ attention to co-star Adria Arjona and director Richard Linklater. If Arjona looked familiar to viewers, it’s likely from several supporting roles in other streaming hits like “Good Omens,” “Andor,” and ‘6 Underground’ with Ryan Reynolds.
It’s not often that directors crack the top five (or even top 10) names on IMDb, but viewers were clearly interested to know more about Richard Linklater, the versatile and irreverent director of indie films like ‘Slacker’ and ‘Dazed and Confused,’ who also found mainstream recognition with ‘School of Rock.’
Also big on Netflix were the French killer shark movie ‘Under Paris’ and the Benedict Cumberbatch miniseries “Eric,” which released all six episodes two weeks ago. Elsewhere in streaming, “The Acolyte” has had no trouble finding its audience on Disney+. According to Disney, the show drew 4.8 million viewers on its first day, making it the streamer’s biggest hit of 2024 to date. Amandla Stenberg and Dafne Keen were in the top five names on IMDb, and both will likely remain popular through the show’s first season, which ends on July 16.
What’s in store for the coming week?
Expect next weekend to be all about “The Boys,” the raunchy comic book adaptation from showrunner Eric Kripke. The first three episodes of Season 4 arrive Thursday (6/13) on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping weekly. Returning cast members Karl Urban, Antony Starr, and Erin Moriarty will likely climb IMDb’s STARmeter, but a few new supes on the scene could put some breakouts in the spotlight, such as Valorie Curry (playing Firecracker) or Susan Heyward (as Sister Sage).
In theaters, Disney and Pixar’s animated ‘Inside Out 2’ is a shoo-in to win next weekend’s box office, though it may not have the same interest on IMDb as the streaming releases. The original voice cast of emotions are returning, but it’s more likely one of the newcomers will spike in popularity, like Maya Hawke (“Stranger Things”) as Anxiety, Ayo Edibiri (“The Bear”) as Envy, or Paul Walter Houser (‘I, Tonya,’ ‘Richard Jewell’) as Embarrassment.

One year after “Everything Everywhere All at Once” became the third film to ever merit three acting Oscars, the recipients of those trophies all have their sights set on Emmy glory. As candidates in three separate 2024 races, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Ke Huy Quan are headed for an exciting reunion that could very well lead to one or more of them winning the TV academy’s favor in September.
Curtis, whose Oscar victory caught more predictors by surprise than those of her two cast mates, is now the strongest Emmy contender of the three according to our racetrack odds. Indeed, her guest stint as alcoholic mother Donna Berzatto on the FX comedy series “The Bear” is widely expected to bring her her first Emmy win, even in the face of formidable opponents from the same show (like Olivia Colman and Sarah Paulson) and returning champion Maya Rudolph (“Saturday Night Live...

X-men '97 Scores TCA Nomination For Outstanding New Program Alongside Shogun, Ripley & Baby Reindeer
The Television Critics Association announced their picks for the best shows of the 2023-2024 TV season on Monday, and in a pleasantly surprising development, Marvel Studios' recent Disney+ series, X-Men '97, picked up two significant nominations.
The animated revival scored nominations for Outstanding New Program and Outstanding Achievement in Family Programming.
Though X-Men '97 proved to be a big hit with fans and critics alike, it's rare that an animated series - and a superhero animated series at that - would receive any TCA recognition, especially outside of the Children's Programming category.
What are the mutant heroes' chances of picking up the win? Well, the show is up against some heavy hitters such as Shōgun, Baby Reindeer and Ripley, so, fittingly, they are the underdogs here.
Former showrunner Beau DeMayo shared the following post in response to the news.

Coming back to the small screens in a couple of weeks, The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White as a haute cuisine chef trying to transform a simple diner into a high-class restaurant, has repeatedly proved that it’s the main characters’ seemingly incompatible differences that create the show’s compelling dynamics, be that their frequent squabbles or sudden heartwarming moments together.
Having gone through a lot of hardships that mostly had something to do with her colleagues, the show’s most obstinate character eventually received her big moment thanks to those she was always fighting with, but for the actress herself that scene didn’t seem all that exciting.
In The Bear, Liza Colón-Zayas portrays Tina, a grumpy Latina cook that throughout the show is frequently seen barely tolerating that whole kitchen mess. As the time passes, Tina seems to have reconciled with her future in Carmy’s restaurant, and...

For the second year in a row, three shows have topped the Television Critics Association nominations. “Baby Reindeer,” “Ripley” and “Shōgun” lead Monday’s nominations for the 40th annual awards with five bids each.
All three shows are up for Program of the Year, a category dominated by FX and Netflix. The former fielded three nominees with “Shōgun” “The Bear” and “Reservation Dogs,” while the latter is repped by “Baby Reindeer” and “Ripley.” Max’s “Hacks” is the sole non-fx and non-Netflix nominee.
Last year, “Succession,” “The Last of Us” and “The Bear” scored five nominations apiece. “Succession” and “The Bear” wound up with two wins each, with the former taking Program of the Year, but “The Last of Us” went 0-5.
After expanding to eight slots per category in 2021, TCA has reverted to six slots. No reason was given.
More curious, however, is the unprecedented double-dipping by three shows.

The Television Critics Association announced the nominees for the 2024 TCA Awards and, surprisingly, they come with some controversy. “Baby Reindeer,” “Ripley” and “Shogun” led all programs with five nominations each. “The Bear” earned four nominations while “Fargo” took three. That being said, both “Baby Reindeer” and “Fargo” earned noms for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries or Specials which is utterly head-scratching.

The summer solstice is still a couple weeks away, but awards season is in full bloom — the Television Critics Association just announced the nominees for its 40th annual awards, a milestone for the organization.
If you've been paying attention to the zeitgeist, you won't be surprised by the frontrunners. Baby Reindeer, one of this year's most electrifying (and polarizing) new series tied with Shōgun and Netflix's Ripley for the most nominations with five. The Bear's second season, which earned raves from critics everywhere, earned four nominations, including one for Program of the Year.
The Bear/Shōgun/Baby Reindeer/Ripley supremacy pushed FX and Netflix to the front of the pack with 16 nominations each. But HBO/Max isn't too far behind with 13, including nominations for Outstanding Achievement in News and Information and Program of the Year (for Hacks).

Baby Reindeer, one of this year's most electrifying (and polarizing) new series tied with Shōgun and Netflix's Ripley for the most nominations with five. The Bear's second season, which earned raves from critics everywhere, earned four nominations, including one for Program of the Year.

Mel Brooks entered even more prestigious awards territory on Sunday, upgrading his Egot to a Pegot as he was recognized with the Career Achievement Award at the 84th annual Peabody Awards.
Brooks became only the fourth person to win a Peabody, Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, behind Barbra Streisand, Rita Moreno and Mike Nichols. Billy Crystal presented the comedy icon with the honor at the organization’s Los Angeles ceremony. (A Pegot can also refer to a Pulitzer instead of a Peabody, which just Richard Rodgers and Marvin Hamlisch have achieved.)
“Mel is a genius who believes that comedy should push boundaries, challenge societal taboos and yes, be a little vulgar when the mood calls for it — and with Mel, the mood often calls for it,” Crystal told the crowd at the Beverly Wilshire hotel. “Mel is one of the big reasons that I have a life in comedy. From documentaries about war in Ukraine and Gaza to the sweetness of “Bluey” to the earthiness of “Somebody Somewhere” and “Reservation Dogs” to the Mel Brooks canon, the 84th annual Peabody Awards ceremony on Sunday saluted an array of standout TV programs, movies, documentaries, podcasts, video games and more.
The respected awards, adminstered by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications, were held at the Beverly Wilshire hotel, marking the first time the Peabodys were handed out on the West Coast after decades in New York.
“Finally, Los Angeles gets an awards show,” host Kumail Nanjiani quipped at the start of the three hour-plus ceremony.
The high volume of conflict in the world and in the U.S. — from school shootings to hate crimes to the spike in political extremism — was reflected in the programs selected for this year’s honors and in the comments on stage from winners.

The Peabody Awards made its long-overdue Los Angeles debut at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Sunday.
Hosted by Kumail Nanjiani, the 84th annual awards ceremony recognized Mel Brooks, Quinta Brunson, Star Trek and more storytellers for its first time on the West Coast since it launched in 1940.
Brooks received the Career Achievement Award for breaking “ground through his use of comedy as a form of resistance” throughout his storied career, according to Peabody.
Brunson was honored with the Trailblazer Award for shining “a light on the challenges faced by public school teachers” through her ABC series Abbott Elementary, as well as opening “doors for the next generation of Black leaders in television.”
The Institutional Award went to Star Trek for the TV franchise’s “enduring dedication to storytelling that projects the best of humanity into the distant future” nearly 60 years after it first debuted.

While viewers curse streaming platforms for canceling shows too early and not giving them another chance, they are just as quick to drop the entire series based on the impressions of the pilot episode. Although understandable, sometimes this logic deprives people of watching some of the best shows.
Here are 8 TV shows that redditors of the r/television subreddit dropped after watching only the pilot, but then picked up and grew to love.
Schitt's Creek (2015-2020)
Like most sitcoms, the pilot was just the writers testing the waters. It set up a backstory, put the characters in their niches, and was released with the hope that the show would hit the right spots for all genre fans. Fortunately, the brilliant cast and the talent of Dan Levy and his father, Eugene Levy, were enough to get the show off the ground.

Returning Favorites The Bear has made quite a mark, with seasons full of intensity and impressive character arcs. In its latest season, fans can expect more solid storytelling around the construction of the titular restaurant. As one critic noted, I think the reason that The Bear has exceeded any and all expectations two years running now is that the core around which all of its characters orbit is as solid as any great sitcom. With ups, downs, suspense, and drama, The Bear continues to draw viewers in. Season 7’s standout Forks episode features an exceptional performance by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This...

When Peabody holds its 84th awards ceremony on June 9, it will finally be in Los Angeles — after four years of trying. The org had decided in 2020 to move its annual event from New York to the West Coast. And then the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and the ceremony went virtual for three years. Last year, it was ready to try again — until the Hollywood strikes forced another in-person cancellation.
Now, Peabody and its executive director, Jeffrey Jones, are ready to give it another shot. “I don’t know what’s going to stop us now,” says Jones, trying not to jinx it. But speaking to Variety just weeks before the event, he was optimistic that this year’s Peabody Awards, held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and hosted by Oscar- and Emmy-nominated comedian-actor-writer Kumail Nanjiani, would be worth the wait.
Jones has been eager to expand the awareness of Peabody (which...

Welcome to Emmy Experts Typing, a weekly column in which Gold Derby editors and Experts Joyce Eng and Christopher Rosen discuss the Emmy race — via Slack, of course. This week, we revisit comedy, which has some open slots in every category.
Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! We’re back to type about the Emmys comedy race, which means you can expect a whole lot of “Hacks” here at the start since we’re both certified members of its stan club. At least anecdotally, the show’s momentum continues to build after its incredible Season 3 finale — so much so that at least one half-baked hot take about how “Hacks” isn’t a “good comedy” was published this week. I’m here for all the “Hacks” attention, and I remain convinced it can win Hannah Einbinder her deserved Emmy plus perhaps bring another writing award to the shelves of Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky.

A column chronicling conversations and events on the awards circuit.
It is getting down to Emmy voters’ moment of truth as we are now less than a week away from the start of Emmy nomination voting on June 13, with all ballots due to be completed by 10 p.m. Pt on Monday, June 24. Nominations will be announced on July 17. In fact, the TV Academy just sent their first warning shot to voters, urging them to “Get Ready To Vote!”
The 76th Emmy Awards airs September 15 on ABC, exactly eight months since the strike-delayed previous Primetime Emmy show in January, and it seems just like yesterday doesn’t it? I can’t swear on it, but I believe this is the first year ever to have two Primetime Emmys in the same calendar year, and certainly the first to have two so close to each other. Of course the reason was the...

No one needs to tell Abby Elliott that she’s hit the jackpot in getting to portray Natalie Berzatto, better known as Sugar – the big sister of restaurant boss Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) – on the multiple Emmy-winning FX hit “The Bear.” “I mean, it’s a dream job and everyone is so fantastic,” Elliott says. “All of the actors are just incredible, and to be able to work alongside them and with them, it’s just the best…I feel so challenged creatively in this environment. This just feels like what I want to be doing. I really love being able to get to do this work.” She’s also grateful and a bit blown away by the impact the show is having on its audience, who can’t wait for the series to drop its third season June 27 on Hulu. “I get people coming up to me saying, ‘I...

Pixar has been one of the premiere names in animation ever since the first "Toy Story" released in 1995, changing the game forever. Disney's beloved animation company was also one of the true Hollywood box office titans, with pretty much everything Pixar touched turning to gold, though "The Good Dinosaur" serves as a rare exception to the rule. Unfortunately, the pandemic changed all of that, and Pixar has had a rough time recovering, with "Lightyear" bombing badly after several of the studio's originals went straight to Disney+. "Inside Out 2" aims to change the narrative next weekend and bring the studio back to its dominant place at the top of the box office charts.
Director Kelsey Mann's sequel is currently eyeing an opening weekend in the $75 to $94 million range, per Box Office Theory. Even on the low end, that would be an exceptional start for the film. Nine years ago,...

The summer movie kickoff has been a little bumpy, but the staff at IMDb have their sights set on several highly anticipated movies and shows coming out in June.
See IMDb’s June Picks
If you need something light and fun for the weekend, check out Glen Powell and Adria Arjona in ‘Hit Man’ on Netflix. Based on the true story of part-time undercover investigator Gary Johnson, director Richard Linklater's crime comedy finds Powell moonlighting as a fake hit man who starts to fall for a woman who enlists his services.
Those looking for thrills and chills can head to the theater, where Will Smith and Martin Lawrence go undercover in ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die,’ and Dakota Fanning finds herself trapped with a bunch of strangers under spooky circumstances in the directorial debut of M. Night Shyamalan's daughter, Ishana Night Shyamalan.
The rest of June will keep many fans busy with new episodes of three Emmy-winning series: Season 4 of “The Boys” (6/13) on Prime Video, Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” (6/16) on Max, and Season 3 of “The Bear” (6/27) on Hulu.
There’s not a ton on the menu for families, but ‘Inside Out 2’ is expected to be one of 2024’s box office bright spots. The Pixar sequel brings back Riley’s original emotions and adds Maya Hawke (“Stranger Things”) as Anxiety and Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear’) as Ennui.
Take a look at all the staff picks for the month in our guide, where you can watch trailers, read more about what’s coming, and add movies and shows to your Watchlist....

Every. Season. Counts.
The Bear's renewal for simultaneously filmed third and fourth seasons was sweet dad-rock music to the ears of critics and audiences alike.
After sweeping the Emmys and benefiting from word-of-mouth buzz around its Christmas-themed episode "Fishes," the show was practically guaranteed renewal to give us at least one more season with the volatile and tight-knit Berzattos.
An Interesting Experiment
Capitalizing on the moment by filming back-to-back seasons was a smart move for the series and might become a trend for other shows.
Logistically it makes sense to take advantage of utilizing a show's cast and crew for two seasons in one go, instead of having to align all of those schedules again in another eighteen months or so.
In the current landscape of surprise cancellations, it also makes creative sense for a show to film a multi-season arc without the worry of ending on a cliffhanger.

When it comes to the race to win an Emmy, there will be a collective buzz around the award’s 60+ categories until Sept. 15 when we find out who gets the gold.
Arguably one of the most highly competitive awards doesn’t happen at the main event but the weekend before at the Creative Arts ceremony. That’s when the winners in the four guest performer categories (which include guest actor and actress in both comedy and drama genres) are awarded for a one-time or re-curring role. (Think Jamie Lee Curtis’ two-episode performance on FX’s “The Bear” — a likely candidate.)
In looking back at early precursors, this award has quite a checkered past with numerous category name changes and head-scratching nominee groupings over the years. For example, in 1977, the bracket was called outstanding single appearance in a comedy or drama series. There was no separation by genre, so nominees included...

Despite dystopian fantasy novels filling up bookstores on every street corner around the world, only a rare few manage to never go out of stock. It may be as ancient as J.R.R. Thanks to the Hulu on Disney+ experience, viewers can now find top heroes from the DC Universe and the MCU on one streamer.
Disney+ is an incredibly versatile streaming platform, one that offers much more than the kids content that most audiences immediately associate the company with. Its programming lineup got another big upgrade this year when the streamer officially launched the Hulu on Disney+ one-app experience for customers who subscribe to both services. Thanks to a licensing deal between Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery, that arrangement means that Disney+ and Hulu subscribers can now watch films from the two biggest comic book-based franchises in U.S. media — DC and Marvel — on one streaming app.
Key Details Disney+ has been home to movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years but has never offered DC movies until now. Viewers can stream “The Batman” and “Joker” on Disney+ if they also have a Hulu subscription.

Emmy voting doesn’t start until June 13, but this is no quiet week. Gold Derby editors and Experts Christopher Rosen and Joyce Eng are here to discuss the increasing buzz for Hannah Einbinder as campaigning kicks into high gear.
While Einbinder remains in second place in the Best Comedy Supporting Actress odds, you’d have to be living under a rock to miss the endless praise for her performance in the “Hacks” Season 3 finale in the past week. It’s easy to feel she’s unstoppable in the afterglow of a great finale, but can she sustain this through the summer — and after “The Bear” drops its third season later this month? And while it’s not the same thing nor is it eligible, Einbinder also has a comedy special, “Hannah Einbinder: Everything Must Go,” premiering on Max the day voting starts, which definitely won’t hurt her visibility.

In Hear Me Out, Primetimer staffers and contributors passionately espouse their pet theories, spicy takes, and even the occasional galaxy-brain idea.
Emmy nomination season is here, and like clockwork, conversations about limited shows staying limited and whether the comedy frontrunners are actually funny have begun. Shōgun got ahead of potential category fraud accusations before the voting window opened, with FX announcing a renewal (albeit one without too many details), but last year’s winner The Bear continues to straddle the amusing-serious line. With a growing number of anthology series and genre-blurring titles, is it time for the Television Academy to have a significant category shakeup? And if so, what should the new metric be?...

With a growing number of anthology series and genre-blurring titles, is it time for the Television Academy to have a significant category shakeup? And if so, what should the new metric be?...

As told to Proma Khosla. The following has been edited and condensed for clarity.
John’s one of my favorite people in the world, and I think long before we were friends, I was such a fan of his, not only as a performer, but also as a writer.

TV's best and most passionate breakdowns are occasionally subtle and often legendary.
They're the culmination of the negative, the positive, or simply the need for upheaval in an otherwise flat character arc -- a self-destruction so piteous as to seem irredeemable.
Sometimes, this act affects others as well.
Naturally, the on-screen breakdown is the culmination of psychological stressors, whether self-induced or brought on by binge-watching The Brady Bunch Variety Hour.
It's often difficult to watch without empathy, especially in characters we've grown to love and even in some we love to hate.
After all, the most intense breakdowns are all too often close to home and personal to the viewers.
It's easier to empathize with Walter White's failure to find the money to pay Saul in Breaking Bad if you've ever misplaced a hundred-dollar bill in the couch cushions.
The closer a TV series parallels real life, the more we can empathize with the characters.

The 75th Primetime Emmys had Quinta Brunson in her feelings before she was even called to the stage to accept the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. “It was such a celebration of television,” the “Abbott Elementary” creator/star told IndieWire over Zoom. “I remember the beginning of the ceremony ran through a number of famous sitcoms, just things that have raised me and always inspired me to want to make a comedy myself, and make TV. Months before the highly anticipated third season of “Hacks” premiered, Gold Derby’s thousands of 2024 Emmy predictors collectively agreed that it poses the biggest threat to defending Best Comedy Series champion “The Bear.” As the Max series’ latest batch of episodes dropped throughout May, its standing in the main race steadily improved, with its well-received finale triggering noticeable boosts in multiple categories.
Over the past week, the share of top Best Comedy Series votes held by “The Bear” decreased by 1.2%, while that of “Hacks” grew by the same amount. Although the two programs remain separated by nearly 80 percentage points, it speaks volumes that “Hacks” is at least 1.5 points ahead of every other contender.
After simultaneously running second in their respective races for several weeks, lead and supporting “Hacks” actresses Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder are now closer than ever to toppling frontrunners Ayo Edebiri (“The Bear”) and Meryl Streep...
