At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore,” he said. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Here’s everything we know about Beverly Hills Cop 4!

Actor Nathan Fillion has been the lead in several hit shows, with one of his most popular projects being Firefly. The show has been canceled for years, and yet Fillion is still recognized by the series to this day. However, he also starred in the hit series Castle, attracting a new legion of fans. But which one does he think brought him the most popularity?

It’s easy to see why Fillion would be recognized for Castle. The show was a hit on the network series ABC during its original run. But surprisingly, Firefly might’ve rivaled Fillion’s Castle fame even at the peak of the show’s run. Firefly only lasted for one season from 2002 to 2003. Whereas Castle had a long eight-season run.

Not only Netflix, but also networks like ABC are notorious for canceling shows right after the first season. And since networks and streaming services don't always reveal the details of why a new show was canceled, viewers are left to deal with the fact.
At the same time, most of the projects that go under the knife are, frankly, not so very impressive. At the same time, there are also popular series that get positive reviews from viewers, but are still axed after the first season. And one of such cases is the fantasy drama Forever.
Forever Was an Unexpected Success
When Forever prepared to hit the small screen in 2014, many viewers considered the concept of the series a failure. The main character is immortal, and eternal life has been his curse for two and a half centuries.
All this time, he lost loved ones and tried to find the reason for his long life.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Could Be the Worst Yet for a Simple Reason - Main Image
Demon Slayer is one of the hottest properties in anime, with years of chart-topping series and money-spinning movies. However, now onto its fourth season (or fifth year), the Hashira Training Arc already feels like the weakest installment yet.
Demon Slayer has been something of a trailblazer for the extended season premiere.
Ever since its hugely successful Mugen Train movie release, it has tried to repeat the trick with compilation films encompassing the end of one season with an early look at the extended premiere of the next.
Last year’s To the Swordsmith Village was a solid if unremarkable watch. Due to their nature as premiere episodes, these compilation films don’t deliver the same satisfying conclusion as Mugen Train did.

Steven Spielberg gave Firefly star Nathan Fillion one of his first big breaks by casting him in Saving Private Ryan. But he soon became frustrated with himself after he couldn’t do this pivotal scene in the movie.
Nathan Fillion couldn’t do the 1 thing he was brought on to do in ‘Saving Private Ryan’ Nathan Fillion | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Fillion caught a lucky break when he was cast in Spielberg’s critically acclaimed WW2 film. He was hired after moving to Los Angeles, where he wasn’t getting acting work for a long time. The scene Fillion was brought on for was a small one requiring him to cry. Normally, this would’ve been an easy scene to do for The Rookie star, as the actor was already experienced with crying on cue.

The Rookie – Photo Credit: Disney/Raymond Liu Nathan Fillion Nathan Fillion now has two long-running TV series under his belt — Castle, which ran for eight seasons, and The Rookie, which is still going strong in its sixth season. Fans of both shows will probably recognize a few similarities between the shows that extend beyond their star: Both shows have a strong mix of drama and comedy, and both have generally featured stories that wrap up neatly in each hour-long episode. Alexi Hawley was a writer and producer on Castle, and he created The Rookie; Fillion has been an executive producer on both shows. If the two of them were to work together again after The Rookie winds up his run, they told us they would most likely follow the formula that’s worked so well for them already. Demon Slayer recently premiered the first episode of the Hashira Training arc, and it has justified fans’ expectations as always. The first episode was released on May 12, 2024, and looking at the work Ufotable has done on the first episode, the season might just break all of its previous records and take Demon Slayer to the next level.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
The first episode was a blend of emotional, comedic, and suspenseful elements that proved to be the perfect start to one of the most anticipated anime series of 2024. The hour-long episode focused on a bunch of things, like Nezuko’s newfound ability to walk into the sun, the demon slayer mark, and the Hashiras figuring out what should be the next step.
However, fans were mesmerized by just the first few minutes of the episode when they got to see Sanemi Shinazugawa and Obanai Iguro in action.

Actor Nathan Fillion had just completed his run as Castle when he was cast in The Rookie. But he admitted he sometimes found it hard to leave his Castle character behind when doing the hit ABC series.
Nathan Fillion’s ‘Castle’ habits died hard Nathan Fillion | Nicole Wilder/Getty Images
It might’ve taken a while for Fillion to truly shake off Richard Castle for The Rookie. In the ABC series, Fillion found himself in somewhat familiar territory. Like Castle, The Rookie saw Fillion’s character, John Nolan, solving crimes. So it might’ve been easy to channel Rick Castle from time to time, even after the show’s end.
But personality-wise, Castle and Nolan couldn’t have been any more different. Rick Castle was a mystery writer who tagged along with police officers, many times unwelcomed, for his own amusement at first. The character also didn’t always take...

On the night of January 24, 2023, in Mississippi, six members of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office kicked in the front door of a house without a warrant.
For an hour and a half, these Mississippi officers — members of the self-named Goon Squad — tortured two Black men, Eddie Parker and Michael Jenkins. These officers used stun guns on the men repeatedly while yelling racial slurs. They beat them with their fists and batons, and abused them with a sex toy. And then one of the cops shoved his gun in Mr.

Actor Nathan Fillion didn’t take long to find work in The Rookie after Castle‘s 2016 cancellation. Looking back on the way the series ended, Fillion might’ve been just as disappointed in it as some of the show’s fans.

Castle had an ending that wasn’t received well by some fans of the show. This might’ve been the trajectory that some figured the show would be headed in. Even Castle itself teased this outcome throughout the series.

The upcoming film The Life of Chuck is the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – but it is not a horror movie. Flanagan has let it be known that this isn’t horror, and cast member David Dastmalchian has said the same in a new interview with Gizmodo, describing the film and elements in it as beautiful and heartbreaking.
Dastmalchian, who was also in the recent King adaptation The Boogeyman, said (with thanks to Coming Soon for the transcription), “It’s beautiful. You think, ‘Oh, Mike Flanagan, Stephen King, this thing’s going to just be the most horrifying, terrifying, thing you’ve ever seen.’ [But] it is so beautifully rendered, heartfelt, the drama, the performances. The cast in this is deep.

Man's Castle.“When you’re dead, you get a hunk of earth. When you’re alive, all you’ve got is that hunk of blue.” This is how Bill (Spencer Tracy), the restless hero of Frank Borzage’s Man’s Castle (1933), explains his insistence on sleeping under the open sky. Borzage’s films always cast their eyes heavenward with exalted sincerity; they offer no sop to modern irony or cynicism. No one should watch them who is not prepared to be enraptured. The essence of Borzage’s romanticism resides in the enchanted spaces his lovers create together: sometimes a semi-permanent home, like the Parisian garret in 7th Heaven (1927), at other times a fleeting idyll of shared fantasy, like the abandoned plantation mansion where the outcast couple in Moonrise (1948) waltz amid the shadows and cobwebs. These magical playhouses are spaces of care and refuge as much as dreamy eroticism; in Man’s Castle,...

Actor Nathan Fillion’s star power grew thanks to starring in shows like Castle and The Rookie. But before those two hit shows, he considered his sci-fi cult hit Firefly as the show that kick-started his career.

Fillion initially didn’t know he’d be able to make a living from acting. In an interview with Closer, he confided that he saw acting as more of a side gig when he went to school. But getting an actual acting job that paid decently changed Fillion’s trajectory.
“I was going to finish off schooling and four months before graduation I got a job on a soap and moved to New York City. I did three years there, moved to Los Angeles on the advice of Bob Woods, who played my uncle on the show.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is heading into its second season with its third showrunner at the helm.
Showrunner Albert Kim, who replaced creators Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko, is also exiting the Netflix live-action series. Co-executive producer Christine Boylan and exec producer Jabbar Raisani — both of whom were hired by Kim — will take over as the drama’s third showrunners for the previously announced second and third seasons.
Sources say Kim’s intention was to lay the foundation for season one of Avatar: The Last Airbender after stepping in for the beloved franchise’s creators. Given the long turnaround time in crafting the series — Netflix ordered it in 2018, the creators left in late 2020 and the show didn’t debut until February 2024 — sources say Kim was ready to move on to new opportunities.
Kim, whose résumé include Sleepy Hollow and Leverage, will remain credited as an exec producer on Avatar: The Last Airbender...

Paul Rudd has become an integral part of the MCU as Ant-Man. His debut MCU film in 2015 provided an entertaining and fresh look at an unexplored side of the MCU, including the quantum realm, along with the character’s size control powers. The character also became a significant factor in the fight against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.
Paul Rudd as Scott Lang in 2015’s Ant-Man
Before Paul Rudd was cast, many other actors were rumored for the part, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Nathan Fillion. The latter was rumored years back, even before the first Avengers film. However, Fillion would never have chosen Ant-Man if he had been given the choice to play a Marvel superhero.

Actor Nathan Fillion recently found himself cast in movies like The Suicide Squad and Superman: Legacy. But back before these roles, many were eager to see Fillion in superhero movies in some form. However, there was one role fans linked him to that Fillion just couldn’t see himself playing.
Why it took so long for Nathan Fillion to do a Marvel movie Nathan Filliom | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
It seemed it was only a matter of time before Fillion did a superhero feature. He already had good professional relationships with two filmmakers connected with Marvel movies. He worked alongside Avengers director Joss Whedon in the cult classic show Firefly. He was also good friends with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, who he did Slither and Super with.
At the time, Fillion shared that he didn’t do a Marvel movie because he was tied up with another franchise.

Whether you love or hate them, remakes have been around for a long time, and they’re not slowing down anytime soon. An update on The Crow is set to arrive this summer, with Hollywood’s version of Speak No Evil not far behind, just as two upcoming examples.
While not all remakes can hold a candle to the original, there’s been no shortage of fantastic movies that reworked genre favorites in thrilling new ways. Some of which even managed to eclipse the original classics, like 1986’s The Fly or 1982’s The Thing.
This week’s streaming picks are dedicated to horror remakes that set themselves apart from the source material, either through expanded storytelling or heightened, visceral horror.

Actors Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic were once reportedly at odds with each other on the set of Castle. Neither have corroborated the reports. But if there’s one thing the two actors didn’t see eye-to-eye on, it was the relationship between the characters.

Back in the earlier years of Castle, the series was known to play up the romantic tension between Fillion’s and Katic’s characters. The two led completely different lives before crossing paths. Fillion’s Richard Castle was a crime novelist, whereas Katic’s Kate Beckett was a real-life officer. When Castle started investigating crimes alongside Kate, he sometimes proved to be a valuable asset to the police. This led to Castle gradually earning both the character’s respect and attention over time.

Actor Nathan Fillion has become a reliable leading man when it comes to shows like The Rookie. He was already attached to the hit series Castle, and continued his success with the police procedural. The Rookie creator himself once explained why he felt Fillion might’ve stood out from other leading men in the entertainment industry.

Hawley already had Fillion in mind before he even had his first script for The Rookie. The producer only had a premise for the show, which he thought Fillion might’ve had trouble putting faith in. The actor also just finished up doing another long-running series in Castle. At the time, Fillion might not have been ready to do yet another network series full time. Fillion has been a part of some of television’s most critically praised shows. Before The Rookie, he was known for playing millionaire author Richard Castle in the titular series Castle. Many of Fillion’s former Castle co-stars have made small appearances on The Rookie, from Jon Huertas to Tamala Jones.
Jones, who played a medical examiner on the hit series, portrayed a wife to a former rap star on The Rookie. She was more than excited to team up with her former Castle co-star. But she was surprised at Fillion’s newfound maturity on set.

Actor Nathan Fillion has played The Rookie‘s John Nolan almost as long as he’s played mystery writer Richard Castle. Although he held both roles in high regard, there was a reason why he’d hang out with John Nolan over the latter.

The Rookie has graduated from primetime newbie to veteran TV show as it reaches its 100th episode, a milestone star and executive producer Nathan Fillion says tells you, “Whatever you’re doing, you’re doing something right.” Since debuting in 2018, the ABC police procedural has sustained faithful viewership amid both internal and industrywide obstacles, including the pandemic and most recently, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Fillion, who portrays John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD, credits the drama’s longevity to creator and showrunner Alexi Hawley, with whom he also worked on ABC’s Castle from 2009-16. “I think what keeps people coming back is the time they spend with these characters,” says Fillion, who teases the possibility of new romantic plotlines during season six. “Anytime you throw two different characters in a squad car together, you know you’re going to get different dynamics, and people are tuning in to that.

We're sad to report the passing of Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell at the too-young age of 49. His death was confirmed in an X/Twitter post (made via the account previously belonging to Mitchell himself) which eulogized him. Mitchell is survived by his family, including his parents, his siblings, and his wife, fellow actor Susan Pratt, and their children Lilah and Kallum (a GoFundMe has been set up for Mitchell's family by friends).
Mitchell built up a wide TV resume during the 2000s and 2010s. He didn't have many starring roles, granted, but he was in the main cast of the cult classic post-apocalyptic series "Jericho." Mitchell kept racking up guest roles on every major procedural series under the sun: "NCIS," "Grey's Anatomy," "Criminal Minds," "Castle" -- the list goes on.

She attended the bash with her partner Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker.
Fox has millions of followers on her Instagram handle, which is a treat for admirers. Last year, around this time, Fox and Mgk’s relationship hit a snag as there were reports about the singer cheating on the actress. The couple even went to couples therapy before calling it quits permanently, and it worked out pretty well for them. She deleted her Insta posts and took off her engagement ring, and the entire drama kept the social media busy for days.

In Wolfgang Petersen's 1997 thriller "Air Force One," Harrison Ford plays President James Marshall, the rare commander-in-chief who is just as capable at punching a-holes in the jaw as he is at policy. Although the Cold War was over by 1997 — the Russian coup d'état happened in 1991 — Russians were still a handy movie "bad guy" in American cinema for a few extra years. As such, the bad guy in "Air Force One" was a bitter Russian jerkwad named Egor Korshunov (Gary Oldman) who felt the collapse of the Soviet Union could still be undone. President Marshall didn't take kindly to Korshunov's attempts to hijack Air Force Once, and the President kills multiple Russian goons over the course of the movie.
The film ends with Korshunov and Marshall grappling near an open cargo bay door, engaging in an action movie's usual round of merry fisticuffs. Before dispatching with Korshunov, Marshall angrily yells "Get off my plane!

John Francis Daley is one of the most exciting comedic voices working today. Together, he and his writing/directing partner Jonathan Goldstein have given us such fantastic movies as "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves," and "Game Night," as well as the screenplay for "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Their scripts strike the right balance between fantastical and relatability, and the duo has an eye for turning even the smallest moment into a visual spectacle.
But before that, and even shortly before they made their feature writing debut with "Horrible Bosses," the two collaborated on the script of an episode of the hit Fox series "Bones." Daley was no stranger to "Bones," as he played the recurring role of psychologist Lance Sweets starting in season 3.
For season 6, Daley got the chance to write an episode about the corpse of a myth-busting TV show host found in West Virginia, amidst rumors of a chupacabra attack.

Halloween Ends may have killed iconic slasher Michael Myers off on the big screen, but there’s really no stopping a successful horror franchise. Last October, Malek Akkad’s Trancas International Films secured a deal with Miramax Television to develop and co-produce a Halloween TV series… and one person who would be interested in working on the show is Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers director Dwight H. Little, who has racked up a lot of TV experience since his days of working on Halloween 4. There’s also another Halloween project Little would like to work on and has even pitched: a direct sequel to Halloween 4 that would see the return of Danielle Harris and Ellie Cornell as Jamie and her foster sister Rachel!
The subject of Halloween came up while Little was speaking with our friends at Bloody Disgusting to promote his memoir Still Rolling: Inside the Hollywood...

Mubi’s retrospective Takeshi Kitano: Destroy All Yakuza—featuring Violent Cop, Boiling Point, and Outrage Coda—is now showing in the United States, Canada, and select countries.Kubi.The presidential suite of the Grand Hotel Yerevan sits at the end of an amber-lit, carpeted corridor. The door comes fitted with its own CCTV camera, the concierge proudly gloats as an elevator slingshots us several floors above the ground, “so guests can feel safer.” Not that the current occupant has much to worry about. Guarding the suite on this exceptionally hot July afternoon is a small platoon of suit-clad Japanese men, looking equally stern and jet-lagged. The lucky few who get to pad in and out of the room do so in reverential silence, and even those outside speak in hushed voices, lest he should be disturbed. "He" is somewhere in the suite right now, and his name is Takeshi Kitano.

Exclusive: A Florida-based filmmaker who has garnered a massive following on social media for calling out crooks, conmen and racists could become the inspiration behind a new TV project, if actor-producer Greg Grunberg has his way.
Michael McWhorter, better known to his more than 6 million followers on TikTok as TizzyEnt, made a name for himself in 2021 by exposing a woman who was selling fake Covid vaccine cards during the pandemic. Since then, his daily posts seeking justice for victims of verbal and physical harassment, as well as straight-up criminal acts, have become catnip to his myriad followers, including Grunberg.
McWhorter has become so ubiquitous in his quest as a social crusader that people frequently tag him in video posts whenever a person is victimized. Even if he stopped actively looking for cases of wrongdoing, McWhorter says he has enough tips in his inbox to keep his social media feeds packed with content for months.

Nelson’s long career includes roles in a popular soap opera, an iconic 1990s TV show, and a brief appearance in one of the most popular sitcoms in TV history.
