Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : So, what are we looking at? At least two gunmen, one sounds American. What else do we know? Let's put this video under the microscope, see what else we can find.
Special Agent Kristen Chazal : He looks tall. 6'3", 6'4? Skin says he's Caucasian.
Kelly Moran : The way he handles that AR points to military or police training.
Special Agent Trevor Hobbs : Hey, check this out. Look at his glove. That's just hanging latex. He's missing his pinky finger.
-
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : So, that school bus and 26 grade-school kids just went missing in Westchester County.
Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan : How does a school bus go missing?
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Unclear, but it never arrived at Taft Elementary, and all the cell phones on board went dark at 7:41. We sent a chopper to aid with the search, but so far, nothing.
Special Agent Stuart Scola : Well, those buses are tracked. What about the GPS transponder?
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Disabled, also at 7:41.
Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan : So, a mass kidnapping?
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Could be a kidnapping. Could be a domestic terror attack. It also could be an isolated event or a first salvo. Right now, we have to consider all possibilities.
-
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : A bus full of children. What does he want? Is he just reckless? What's his ultimate objective?
Jess LaCroix : Money.
Special Agent Emily Ryder : So he'll ask for ransom?
Jess LaCroix : Unless he can make more by trafficking the kids. Like I said, he's motivated by money.
-
Special Agent Kristen Chazal : I may have something.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Yeah?
Special Agent Kristen Chazal : A report from Givens' probation officer. He did an unannounced home visit, and in it, he stated that Givens was there with a woman.
Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan : This woman have a name?
Special Agent Kristen Chazal : Terri Prader.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Uh-huh.
Jess LaCroix : [seeing Terri's driver's license picture] That's her. That's Givens' girlfriend.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Based on?
Jess LaCroix : Based on the fact that it looks like his birth mother. He used to carry a picture of her in his wallet.
-
Jess LaCroix : Now, what about this bus? What, did it head south, east, west?
Special Agent Kristen Chazal : We've been scrubbing as much surveillance video as possible, but so far, no luck.
Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan : Yeah. It could be anywhere.
Jess LaCroix : And Givens' girlfriend?
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : What... what girlfriend?
Jess LaCroix : I don't know who she is or where she lives, but I know that he's got one.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : You-you-you... you do? How?
Jess LaCroix : Givens was an orphan. He's constantly seeking strong women to take care of him.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Oh, right. Be... okay.
Jess LaCroix : It's true.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Uh... all right, w-we need hard evidence here, Jess. The clock's ticking, we don't have time to play shrink.
Jess LaCroix : Well, we don't have any hard evidence. All we have is to play shrink.
-
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : All right, so, the prints on the gas pump were a match to this man, Sam Givens, and he is the gunman from our bus. Same height, spent time in the Army, and he is missing that pinky finger. Now, Givens just got out prison after serving ten years on a series of violent robberies, and the arresting agent was none other than our own Jess LaCroix from the Fugitive Task Force. Agent LaCroix has agreed to work with us on this case. He caught Givens once, we're hoping he can do it again. Ladies and gentlemen, Jess LaCroix, one of the best in the business.
Jess LaCroix : [shaking hands] It's good to see you again, Jubal.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : You, too. Thanks for coming. I know you guys are busy.
Jess LaCroix : 26 kids are missing. These are the ones we do for free.
-
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : All right, so the cell phones went offline here. It's a rural area, so there's no street cams.
Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan : Okay, I'll head to the scene, try and pick up a trail.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Exactly. Grab Maggie, and...
[realizing]
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Oh. Keep forgetting she's off undercover.
Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan : Yeah, me, too.
-
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : So, surveillance, masks, assault rifles. This was a well-planned operation.
Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille : Yeah, but why? Why abduct 26 kids? And we're monitoring the parents' phones and e-mails, but there's no claim of responsibility, no ransom demand.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : Well, a demand may still come in.
Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille : And what if it's not money he's after? You should have seen those parents. Just... despair.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine : I can't imagine.
