It's not just the Orb we get to learn a little more about in this one, but also the psychology of Brisco himself; his motivation for chasing Bly isn't just to see the job done but there's also a little bit of following in his father's footsteps thrown into the mix. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Naturally, getting shot is a great way to put the Orb to use and shed some light (if only a little) on the mysticism. The thing's downright otherworldly. This is a relatively low-key episode - no big set pieces - but it's also character-driven and there's a great bonding scene between Brisco and Lord Bowler. And in the end, our hero's back on the horse for his next showdown with John Bly.
