It’s not quite high-stakes poker and we certainly can’t envisage Christopher Nolan devising a scene where 007 battles it out with a super villain over a game of bingo, but that isn’t to say that the game isn’t suited to the silver screen – emphasis on the silver…

Like the movies, playing bingo is an enjoyable pastime for many and a trip to the bingo hall is a great way to have fun and catch up with friends. Playing bingo online is also a popular choice for at-home entertainment on sites like wink bingo.
The game is a part of British culture and has been around for decades. Bingo isn’t just a scene in bingo halls but also a popular aspect in movies, with many films featuring bingo scenes to add excitement and suspense to the plot.
Here are just some of the most memorable bingo scenes that have features in well-known movies:
The Simpsons (1992)
The animated American sitcom, The Simpsons, is one of the most successful and longest running animated programs in television history. It made way for other animated sitcoms in the American market like Family Guy.

We have the highlights of what's coming and going from HBO Now and HBO Go in March 2020.
March 2020 is an extremely HBO month for HBO.
What we mean by that is that the list of new releases for the month contain a lot of the hallmarks of the HBO brand that the network has built over the years. There is the third season of an expensive and popular sci-fi series with Westworld season 3 premiering on March 15. Then there's also the requisite new David Simon series when Philip Roth adaptation The Plot Against America premieres on March 16.
If that weren't enough, March 2020 sees the arrival of a big ticket superhero movie with X-Men: Dark Phoenix arriving on March 21. It's not a good big ticket superhero movie, but still! You may want to rewatch it all the same. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw is a sort of superhero movie itself.

Bad films are part of the movie-making process. For every Citizen Kane, there are dozens of Law Abiding Citizens; for every The Exorcist, hundreds of Exorcist II: The Heretics.
They're all meant to do badly, because they are bad. But sometimes, there's an aberration. Sometimes... they're successful. Very successful. Very, very successful.
Here, then, are 14 of our favourite least favourite films to ever make studio heads' eyes turn into little dollar signs (in order of awfulness).
14. Anger Management (2003)
Rotten Tomatoes ranking: 43%
Production budget: $75 million
Worldwide box office: $195 million
Anger Management spluttered back into like in 2012 as a TV vehicle for snake blood-drinking "winner" Charlie Sheen. It lasted two seasons: the first had 10 episodes, the second 90, all so the show could go into syndication. As soon as it hit its 100th episode, it was immediately canned.
13. Meet The Fockers (2004)

Bill & Ted, Addams Family Values, Wayne's World 2 - the 1990s wasn't short of good comedy sequels. It's just not enough people watched them.
In recent times, Hollywood has enjoyed going back into the 1990s to come up with belated sequels to previous hit movies. So, we finally got Dumb & Dumber 2, for instance, whilst a third Clerks, a second Mallrats, a new Sister Act and a Naked Gun reboot are being cooked up somewhere. Further belated sequels? Zoolander 2 finally arrives next year, and Anchorman 2 celebrates, quietly, its second birthday this Christmas.
It was only at the end of the 1990s that comedy sequels suddenly really took off. There were exceptions beforehand of course, but few things raise the eyebrows of Hollywood high brass than lots of cash. This, whilst the enormous box office takings of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me were in part down to an utterly inspired marketing campaign,...

What sets Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone's action heroes apart from one another?
There are spoilers within for Predator, Terminator 2, Cobra, the Rambo and Rocky films, and Big Momma's House 2 (just seeing if you're paying attention there).
Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. At a certain point, you cannot think of one without the other. Action icons of the 80s, they are as synonymous with 80spop culture as the side ponytail, hair metal and New Coke. For action fans they are yin and yang, the flip sides of the same sweaty bicep. While they bear some superficial similarities, their star personas are actually quite different.
Stallone - The Underdog
Though he boasts a bulky physique comparable to the former Mr Universe, the essence of Stallone’s appeal is that he is inherently an underdog — this is why he is perfect for Rocky Balboa, and miscast in Cobra and Judge Dredd.

On Sunday at 11.25am, Channel 5 is showing an unwanted sequel to an unwanted sequel to an unwanted film
"You've been mommafied!" – Big Momma
The first Big Momma's House movie, where Martin Lawrence dresses up as a flatulent fat old lady, is not a good film by any means. But at least it had Paul Giamatti and Terrence Howard in the supporting cast, doing their best to lift the material. Compared to Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, it's a masterpiece.
Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son has nothing going for it. It's not even as fun as Big Momma's House 2. It's an unwanted sequel to an unwanted sequel to an unwanted film. It stretches an already flimsy premise to depressing new lengths. It attempts to pass the baton to a new generation of film-makers, even though the baton is radioactive and caked in human excrement. This film doesn't deserve to be watched once,...

A quick admission here. I was so star struck meeting Chloe Grace Moretz that I flubbed the first part of this interview big time. But she was there for me. I know most big stars don't like getting called out for their good deeds but when I needed rescuing Hit Girl was there. Luckily I had done my research and seen Big Momma's House 2 as well as Carrie so our conversation took some interesting turns. Twitch: The character of Carrie has a fascinating history. You first played her in Big Momma's House 2 right? Chloe Grace Moretz: Man...you're good. No one else has picked up on that. Well it says right there on IMDb. Same character name and everything. I was suspicious because it has the same...

January's long been considered a dumping ground for weak film releases, as studios avoid the award season, figuring it hopeless, and don't want to focus on the film during more important box office periods like summer. This is where you get your Season of the Witch, your spit-out-by-a-computer RomComs like Bride Wars and dreadfully inane "family fare" like Kangaroo Jack or Are We There Yet? (Answer: No.) Really, who can forget the highly awaited Highlander 3: The Final Dimension (1995) and Big Momma's House 2 (2006)? And generally, when a once-anticipated high profile film gets held until January (see: The Lovely Bones), it's often not a good sign. But quite a few very good films have found themselves popping up in theaters in January, too, due to a...

In January, Box Office Mojo broke the news that 2011 was packing a record number of sequels, and, in the spirit of Hollywood, here's a sequel to that sequel story. This is how the industry's sequel strategy has fared so far: On the one hand, three sequels comprise the Top Three of 2011 so far: The Hangover Part II, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Fast Five. Each one has grossed over $200 million and no other 2011 movie up until this point is poised to reach that level. On the other hand, 2011 is a down year overall, so these sequels haven't resulted in a rising tide. More telling, out of the ten sequels released so far this year, only one has excelled, relative to its predecessor. The rest will fall short to varying degrees, many suffering from classic cases of sequelitis.Fast Five, which will run out of gas close to $210 million,...

Rafael (George Lopez), Blu (Jesse Eisenberg) and Jewel (Anne Hathaway) in Rio
Photo: 20th Century Fox Ice Age franchise helmer Carlos Saldanha has teamed with Big Momma's House 2 and Deck the Halls scripter Don Rhymer to essentially take Pixar's Finding Nemo and mash it up with Dreamworks' Madagascar and call it Rio. Fascinating enough, mathematically it all works out. You take Nemo, which was a ten, and Madagascar, which was a four, add those up for 14, divide by two and you get Rio, which is a seven. It really is all about the math.

Liam Neeson flexed his box office muscle this week, driving Unknown to a first place finish ahead of the over-hyped I Am Number Four. The bigger story, though, was Gnomeo and Juliet's incredible hold, as the movie was less than a half-million dollars away from grabbing the top spot. The week was technically up 20 percent over the same period last year, but the inclusion of President's Day this year skewed the comparison. Unknown opened to $30.4 million, or a bit behind Neeson's 2009 hit Taken ($33.1 million). While Taken declined just 23 percent in its second week, expect Unknown to drop much more precipitously, due in part to coming off a four-day holiday weekend and lacking Taken's surprise factor. Gnomeo and Juliet eased less than four percent to $29.9 million. From Monday to Thursday, Gnomeo was actually up 90 percent, which can be attributed partly to a bump from President's Day but also to abnormally strong non-holiday grosses.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's sci-fi comedy wins audiences' hearts, but Never Say Never fails to woo new Beliebers
The winner
In 2007, Universal released Hot Fuzz on 14 February, a date that had the added bonus of being both Valentine's Day and its star Simon Pegg's birthday. Four years later, it was a case of why change a winning formula, as the distributor picked the exact same release date for Paul, unfazed by the fact that on this occasion, 14 February fell on a Monday. This decision had the upside of giving Paul four whole days of previews, boosting its opening "weekend" box office (in fact a whole week) to £5.52m. Pegg tweeted that this figure represented the biggest opening of the year so far – true, but not the whole story. While Paul's numbers were inflated by £2.31m from those Monday-Thursday previews, a few weeks ago Disney's Tangled managed to...

'I Am Number Four' opens at a disappointing #3 over the holiday weekend.

Diane Kruger and Liam Neeson in "Unknown"
Photo: Warner Bros.
Liam Neeson has a solid future as an action hero if he wants it, but "I Am Number Four" may have stumbled in its attempt to build a new sci-fi young-adult franchise, according to box-office receipts.
"Unknown" took in an estimated $25.6 million over the four-day President's Day weekend, making the Alfred Hitchcock-inspired Neeson thriller #1. Family-friendly CG-animated film "Gnomeo & Juliet," in its second week of release, was just behind with $24.8 million, according to reports. "I Am Number Four" was a surprising third with a $22.6 million theatrical debut.
The success of "Unknown" follows on the heels of 2008's "Taken," the surprise smash with somewhat similar themes that proved a capable action vehicle for Neeson, the 58-year-old actor who was previously better known for dramatic fare.

Unknown trumps I Am Number Four, Big Mommas: Like Father Like Son, Justin Bieber and Gnomeo & Juliet at the Us box office. Liam Neeson, clearly, rules...
Unknown was sold as an unofficial sequel to Taken, and while the box office domination isn't a surprise this time, it's still impressive. Unknown banked $21.77 million in its opening weekend, versus a budget of only about $30 million. While reviews are mixed (especially when compared to Taken, which was great), it's still a success for all involved.
Unknown managed to hold off the strong challenge of I Am Number Four, which banked $19.5 million. Number Four started very strong on Friday, but as the weekend wore on Unknown surpassed it and the third place film this weekend, Gnomeo And Juliet ($19.4 million), nearly caught up to it. When the official numbers are released on Tuesday, Gnomeo just might have surpassed Number Four. In fact, I Am Number Four...

I Am Number Four went No. 2 this weekend as the top spot was taken by the less-hyped Unknown, and overall business was down 29 percent from last Presidents' Day weekend. Promoted as the follow-up to Taken, Unknown dredged up an estimated $21.8 million at 3,043 locations over the weekend. While that opening was less showy than Taken's $24.7 million start, it was stronger than Edge of Darkness, and it more than tripled the last thriller featuring Liam Neeson, The Next Three Days, and more than doubled the last Presidents' Day weekend Euro-thriller The International. With an estimated $19.5 million at 3,154 locations, "flashlight hands" saw his franchise hopes flicker out, despite a flood of advertising prior to release. Among comparable Presidents' Day weekend titles, I Am Number Four's first weekend was significantly worse than Jumper's $27.4 million as well as Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief's $31.2 million, and neither spawned sequels. This Presidents' Day weekend, three movies enter the nationwide fray: I Am Number Four beams into 3,154 locations (including 230 IMAX sites), Unknown wakes up at 3,043 locations, and Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son bounces into 2,821 locations. I Am Number Four is the first DreamWorks movie distributed by Walt Disney Pictures (through its Touchstone label, like Gnomeo and Juliet). Though based on a recently-published "young adult" novel, the movie looks like a pumped-up adaptation of the television series Roswell (both about alien refugees in high school being hunted down and featuring romance with a human girl). It also seems partially inspired by the Twilight series (substituing aliens for vampires), but it strays from that successful formula by making the supernatural boy the main character, instead of seeing the proceedings through the eyes of the relatable, normal girl. Because it's intended to be a franchise starter and because DreamWorks typically spends a lot on advertising,...

To our knowledge there has not been a clamoring for Big Momma 3 since Big Momma's House 2 exited theaters five years ago. Nevertheless, Hollywood has delivered it to us, without advance screening for critics.
"...kind of a drag when it resorts to frantic slapstick and tired action-comedy tropes, but modestly engaging during stretches that suggest the project would have worked better as an exuberant musical."
— Joe Leydon, Variety
"...won't likely disappoint fans of men-in-drag comedy but doesn't offer much that's original or funny."
— Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter
"...a sad excuse for a cross-dressing sequel."

"Thanks a bunch, Tyler Perry. Your antics in old-lady dress-up have inspired Martin Lawrence to literally drag his worst franchise out of the closet and back onto the big screen, cheaper and more lazily than ever."

Big Momma is back, the question is: Why? In the name of all that is decent and thoughtful and pleasant, why? Was there some nuance of humor and commentary on the human condition to be found in an idiotic actor dressing up in an old-lady fatsuit that had not already been fully explored in Big Momma’s House and Big Momma's House 2? Of course not, because those films bothered not with such matters in the first place. I generously presume that all involved here are self-aware enough to feel remorseful when cashing their paychecks, and surely had to have been cognizant of what utter dreck they were flailing around in, but that only raises more questions, such as: Have they no shame? Martin Lawrence’s (Death at a Funeral) FBI agent once again goes undercover as “Big Momma” -- other characters actually call her that, and no one appears...

Brandon T. Jackson has been booked to play in comedy film "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son" as the teenage stepson of Martin Lawrence's Malcolm Turner, replacing Jascha Washington who tackled the role in the first two films. But the Trent Pierce depicter does not only act but also rap the movie soundtrack.
In a new music video for its theme song "Imma Do It Big", Brandon spits his verses to the camera in a warehouse with several pals before appearing later as his alter ego from the movie. T-Pain and One Chance who lend their vocal to the song make a brief appearance. Random scenes from the "Big Momma's House 2" sequel are flashed as well.

After box office receipts were down nearly 29 percent in January, the big question is whether the month of February can reverse this startling downward trend. With an Adam Sandler romantic comedy, the big-screen debut of pop sensation Justin Bieber, a sci-fi action movie set in high school and the latest Farrelly Bros. comedy, it's unlikely that February will fare as poorly as January. With no major holdovers, though, it's going to be tough to reach February 2010's $754.7 million, much less February 2009's record-setting $769.3 million. Feb. 4 While February as a whole doesn't look too bad, the first weekend should continue January's negative trend. The movie with the most hype is easily Sanctum, which has executive producer James Cameron hitting the press circuit as aggressively as he did for Avatar's opening (he recently created a Twitter account for the sole purpose of promoting the movie). Besides the its 3D presentation and Cameron's association,...

Browsing through the ever-expanding black hole that is the Shadowlocked email address, I stumbled across a press email which I felt compelled to discuss. The email in question was regarding the upcoming sequel in the Big Momma franchise, named Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son. The film - which is due for release in the UK on either the 16th or 18th February 2011 - sees Martin Lawrence return as FBI agent Malcom Turner, joined this time by his son Trent (Brandon T. Jackson). The film works off the premise that Trent's life is in danger because he 'accidentally' witnessed a murder alongside his father. To help protect his son, Malcom decides to bring him undercover on his latest mission, a decision which sees the pair posing as Big Momma and her hefty co-ed Charmaine within the confines of an all-girls performing arts school. Between them, Big Momma and Charmaine must befriend the students,...

No, it was never all right for Martin Lawrence to dress up as a woman and frolic in a fat suit. And now he's got his on-screen son at it too. Watch the trailer if you don't believe me
Believe it or not, the Big Momma's House series rigidly follows the classic Hollywood trilogy structure. Big Momma's House was an origin story, revealing how Martin Lawrence first came to dress up like a fat old lady. Then in Big Momma's House 2, things began to fall apart for Lawrence, as evidenced in the scene where he lost his job as a nanny for being incompetent and quite creepy.
And now, just four years later, comes the thrilling denouement to this epic saga. Big Momma's House 3 – or Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son to use its official title – is here. Will it answer all the questions left open by the previous instalments?...

It's been four years since Big Momma's House 2 graced theaters, but after earning $138 million at the worldwide box office, a third trip to the make-up chair was in order for Martin Lawrence. In Big Momma's: Like Father, Like Son, Lawrence's character of FBI agent Malcolm Turner joins forces with his stepson Trent (Brandon T. Jackson) and goes undercover at an all-girls performing-arts school after Trent witnesses a murder. The latest trailer for the movie shows that, if you enjoyed the previous Big Momma's House movies, you won't be disappointed.

Martin Lawrence is back, baby! It's been a few years, but we finally are getting the closure we needed from the Big Momma's House franchise. This time around we find out that FBI agent Malcolm Turner has a stepson named Trent, who is forced to go undercover with him for a sting operation. They dress up in drag in order to track down a murderer at an all-girls school and obviously hilarity ensues. Man, I really gotta get into comedy writing. In the creative collaboration of a lifetime, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son pairs Martin Lawrence up with Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder, Lottery Ticket), and reteams him with director John Whitesell (Big Momma's House 2, Malibu's Most Wanted). Now, on a serious note, I know everyone's going to whine about how movies like this make them lose faith in humanity and all of that, but you have to...

There have been a lot of overweight people in the history of film who have been funny -- Fatty Arbuckle, Jackie Gleason, Oliver Hardy, Curly Howard, Porky Pig, Lou Costello, and the fat one in "The Little Rascals" to name a few -- but the idea that comedians are funny because they are overweight seems like a more recent development. It's likely the result of the full-blown fat epidemic in America, but the comedy of obesity is full-blown now. How did we get from John Belushi in Animal House and John Candy in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles to Kevin James in Paul Blart: Mall Cop? "The Biggest Loser" is the top-rated program on NBC; ABC Family just began airing a show called "Huge," about a fat-camp for teenagers. Fox, the classiest of all networks, even aired a dating reality show last season referred to as The Fatchelor. Who do we...

Today Universal released Get Him to the Greek, a sort-of sequel to 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall as it uses Aldous Snow who had a small role in the original. Beyond that, there is only a brief reference to Sarah Marshall, which has me thinking it's not really a sequel as much as it is a spin-off. The same could be said for a movie like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)... Same characters, but not really a sequel to Clerks, which ended up having its own sequel in 2006.
In a debate with a group of fellow Seattle critics trying to decide if Get Him to the Greek was a sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall or not, the topic turned to comedy sequels in general and I was asked to name a great comedy sequel. Should be easy... right?

As if "Big Momma's House 2" is not enough, now, get ready for "Big Momma: Like Father, Like Son," the third installment of the one-note franchise!

So why do we need another "Big Momma" film? Because the franchise made $310 million worldwide, that's why! People love seeing fake overweight folks, I guess.
The director of the second film, John Whitesell, is returning to helm the third film from a script by Matthew Fogel and Randi Mayem Singer.

20th Century Fox announced today that Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, the third movie in the Big Momma's House franchise, will hit theaters Feb. 18, 2011 (Presidents' Day weekend). Martin Lawrence will reprise his role as an FBI agent whose investigations lead him to go undercover, cross-dressing in a fat suit as the titular character. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third movie finds Big Momma going undercover at an all-girls performing-arts school. The original Big Momma's House opened to $25.7 million in 2000 and ultimately grossed an impressive $117.6 million (or nearly $170 million adjusted for ticket price inflation). Despite this success, it was over five years before the sequel, Big Momma's House 2, was released. While it opened to $27.7 million, it came up short of the original's final tally, closing with a still solid $70.2 million. All told, the series has grossed over $310 million worldwide. Big Momma is coming back, y'all, to complete the trilogy. And I for one am thrilled to death, and I'll tell you why: Because someone is going to motorboat that hag. And when they do, I know we've hit rock bottom. And then I can look forward to a future where nothing will ever be as bad as someone motorboating Big Momma's tit-tays! And you know with all the technological advancements we've made since Big Momma's House 2, that it's going to be a visceral, horrific, haunting (maybe even 3D!) experience.
