Adam Cooper has made his feature directorial debut with the thriller Sleeping Dogs, working from a screenplay he wrote with his writing partner Bill Collage. Starring Russell Crowe (The Pope’s Exorcist) and Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy), the film is set to reach theatres on March 22nd – and with that date swiftly approaching a trailer for Sleeping Dogs has arrived online! You can watch it in the embed above.
Cooper and Collage’s previous collaborations include New York Minute, Accepted, Tower Heist, The Transporter Refueled, Exodus: Gods and Kings, Allegiant, and Assassin’s Creed. The script they wrote for Sleeping Dogs is based on the novel The Book of Mirrors by E. O. Chirovici. The film has the following synopsis: In the wake of a cutting-edge Alzheimer’s treatment, former homicide detective Roy Freeman is tasked with re-examining a brutal murder case from his past – the grisly murder of a college professor.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are an institution. From their debut on Full House, where both twins shared the role of Michelle Tanner (starting when they were only infants), the two sisters grew up never out of the public eye. While popular on the show, they parlayed their success to become a brand, launching a series of successful direct-to-video movies, followed by big-screen outings such as It Takes Two and New York Minute. But, what’s extra impressive about the twins is that, despite growing up under a microscope, the two seem to have always had an excellent sense for business, to the point that both are almost retired at this point, at the run old age of only thirty-six.
Neither Mary-Kate nor Ashley Olsen ever generated much controversy, with even tabloid coverage of the two rarely going beyond teenage hijinx. Their sister, Elizabeth Olsen, is famous for playing Scarlett Witch in the MCU movies,...

Since portraying Michelle Tanner on Full House for eight seasons, the Olsen twins have been American sweethearts. When the ABC sitcom ended in 1995, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen took their talents to the big screen in It Takes Two. However, fans might be shocked to learn that the mansion where the movie was filmed sat vacant for years and was recently destroyed.

Though many fans consider It Takes Two Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s best film, the sisters appeared in several TV movies while on Full House. They include To Grandmother’s House We Go (1992), Double, Double, Toil and Trouble (1993), and How the West Was Fun (1994). But the siblings’ first full-length feature film was 1995’s It Takes Two.

“Ozark” fans, rejoice. The Jason Bateman and Julia Garner-starring drama series is returning to Netflix in April with a second part to its fourth season — and it’s just one of many other hotly anticipated titles coming to the streamer this month.
April will also see the long-awaited sophomore installment to “Russian Doll,” the mind-bending “Groundhog Day”-esque dramedy series starring Natasha Lyonne as a hard-partying New York City woman stuck in a brain-melting circuitous loop from hell.
For fans of capital-m mess, there’s the Spanish-language “Elite,” which traces the scandalous (and often murderous) exploits of the posh attendees of high school Las Encinas. Or, if you prefer your glamorous mess via reality series, “Selling Sunset” — about the lux real estate market in Los Angeles — is premiering its fifth season April 22.

A list of new streaming releases on Netflix, what a concept!
Netflix’s list of new releases for April 2022 is highlighted by the return of one of the great sci-fi comedies ever. Natasha Lyonne is set to return as the temporally displaced Nadia on Russian Doll season 2 on April 20. The first season of the show premiered in 2019 and appeared to tell a rather complete story about one Brooklyn woman’s experiences of dying over and over again. But Lyonne and fellow producers Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler still have some story to tell. Netflix is undoubtedly very happy to let them continue to tell it.

Our lips refuse to stay sealed about these cameos. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who turn 35 on June 13, last appeared on-screen together in 2004's New York Minute, but that hasn't stopped their loyal fanbase from being obsessed with their vast vault of TV movies, which we lovingly refer to as the Olsen Cinematic Universe. Like its Marvel counterpart, the Ocu was a breeding ground for up-and-coming talent, a pit stop on their way to Hollywood. Just look at Megan Fox, who made her acting debut in 2001's Holiday in the Sun. Michael Cera also made his first on-screen appearance in one of Mary-Kate and Ashley's movies, showing off his comedic timing at an early age. Plus, Eric...

"Boys may come and go, but we'll always have each other, and that's not just in the movies." This was the final line said in Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's final straight-to-video film, 2003's The Challenge, after they were confronted by their boyfriends of movie past. For their loyal fans, it was thrilling to see the meta moment as the twins interacted with their fictional selves' love interests, including the one who gave Mary-Kate her first on-camera kiss. A year later, they shared the screen in New York Minute, with Jared Padalecki and Riley Smith serving as their final final fictional beaus. While the 34-year-old twins retired from acting and now run...

In the spring of 2019, while Jared Padalecki was finishing shooting what would become the penultimate season of “Supernatural,” he began to sketch out an idea for his next project. After starring in the WB Network/CW drama alongside Jensen Ackles since 2005, Padalecki’s first thought was of continuing their partnership beyond that one show.
“I was tired of being on camera for 20 years straight,” he says. “I wanted to produce a show called ‘Walker’ starring Jensen Ackles.”
“Walker” would be a reimagining of the enduring CBS series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” which ran for nine seasons between 1993 and 2001 and starred martial artist and actor Chuck Norris in the ass-kicking titular role. But unlike the new versions of vintage series that the CW has launched before, from “90210” to “Melrose Place,” “Walker” will not continue the world or any of the characters of the original show. Instead, the series follows the modern...

There are only two months left to go in this truly hellish year and relatively new streaming service HBO Max is trying to make the best of them. While most other streamers recover from Halloween and get prepared for Christmas, HBO Max is using November 2020 to fill out its servers.
Things are pretty light not the new original series front this month with only Industry (Nov. 9) and His Dark Materials season 2 (Nov. 16) making a splash. But the streamer has a couple of notable original films to complement them. That’s not even to mention two intriguing projects that don’t have dates yet: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special and The Mystery of Db Cooper.

We might be stuck indoors this Halloween weekend, but thankfully, the various major streaming services are on hand to keep us occupied with a monumental mountain of new content heading our way over the next few days. As it’s both the end of the month and the beginning of November, the likes of Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu and Prime Video are adding a mix of seasonal movies and TV shows today and tomorrow, and a whole load of freshly licensed titles on Sunday.
First of all, Netflix is dropping five new originals this Friday, October 30th, including a couple of horrors, like The Day of the Lord and His House. Disney Plus, meanwhile, debuts The Mandalorian‘s season 2 premiere today, along with a new episode of The Right Stuff and Nicolas Cage movie The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. November is the last month of the year for sensible viewing, before our TV screens become full-time broadcasters of golden retrievers saving Christmas and Will Ferrell wearing tights. Take the opportunity then, to get some good stuff in before the festivities.
In terms of good stuff, Netflix is offering the second series of the brilliantly wry and surprisingly touching The End of the F***ing World for any UK viewers who didn’t catch it on Channel 4. There’s also the excellent animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (we loved it. 5 stars.) as well as Boots Riley’s inventive, funny, political satire Sorry to Bother You (we also loved it. 4.5 stars.) On top of that, you can take a nostalgic trip to Capeside with all six seasons of Dawson’s Creek or watch emotionally repressed royals deal with the advent of the 1980s in season four of The Crown.

HBO Max has a major job on its hands to justify its approximately $15 a month subscription fee, especially given the strong competition out there from established names like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Disney Plus faced a similar challenge last year in arriving onto an already-saturated streaming marketplace, but at least had the advantage of major series like The Mandalorian to promote. While HBO Max will eventually be home to the Snyder cut of Justice League, and has some originals for its first week of availability, the big draw right now is its enormous back-catalogue of movies.
Given the various corporate elements that are going into HBO Max, including the Warner Bros. library, owners AT&T will be hoping that the combination of brand recognition for HBO programming, and a deep bench of movies, will convince people to add a new subscription to their list. Welcome to the HBO Max era! WarnerMedia’s streaming giant arrived on May 27 and is absolutely bursting with Warner movies, TV shows, and other titles. But time waits for no man or streaming service and each new month HBO Max will be expected to bring new content to the table. Things get started in June 2020 with the first batch of HBO Max new releases.
To be clear, the majority of the original series coming to HBO Max actually belongs to HBO. Shows like I May Destroy You (June 7), Perry Mason (June 21), and I’ll Be Gone in the Dark (June 28) all belong to HBO…which now just happens to be a part of HBO Max. Confusing stuff, we know, but rest assured that if you have HBO Max you’ll get these shows…and if you only have HBO, you can go ahead and just get HBO Max for the same price anyway.

Netflix's early 2000s movie collection has brought back to my attention one of the most iconic and influential movies from my childhood: New York Minute. I mean, how could I forget about the last movie the fashionable twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made together? I watched it consistently at sleepovers, and it's probably what sparked my dream to someday live in New York City.
I couldn't remember the last time I watched it, but when I scrolled past it on Netflix, I knew I needed to take a trip down memory lane. It's been 16 years since it was released, so please enjoy my thoughts and observations as I rewatch New York Minute:
This dream sequence is more intricate and intense than any dream I've ever had. Oh, how much I wanted to be as put-together as Jane Ryan when I was younger. Now I realize that I am definitely more of a messy,...

New year, and a host of new Netflix additions to match.
While subscribers are currently mourning the loss of Friends – after going dark today, January 1st, the beloved sitcom won’t be available until HBO Max arrives in May – Netflix has today rolled out a bevy of fresh TV shows and movies to keep us entertained, including some truly unmissable horror properties.
From Event Horizon to Cloverfield, The Amityville Horror to the Tremors franchise, Netflix’s horror category has officially been restocked. There’s plenty to choose from, too, including the 2002 rendition of The Ring, which only makes us long for a competent retelling of the Japanese horror legend to right the wrongs of Rings (2017). At least we have the upcoming Grudge reboot to look forward to on Friday (or January 24th if you happen to be located in the United Kingdom).

Although filmed entirely in New York and in completely Us production, Ximan Li’s debut feature “In a New York Minute” qualifies for being considered as an Asian film based on its milieu: the Chinese diaspora in the Us. Think of last year’s global hit “Crazy Rich Asians”, but without the “crazy” and “rich” parts and “In a New York Minute” offers its patient viewers a glimpse into the world rarely seen in both Hollywood mainstream and indie movies. However, the film is also quite an American one and its world premiere took place at Newport Beach Film Festival. Some further festival exposure should ensue before the film hits the video-market, but chances for wide theatre distribution are quite slim.

While Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were walking the red carpet a the 2019 Met Gala on Monday night, 15 years ago, they were celebrating the premiere of New York Minute. Though the 32-year-old fraternal twins are now fashion moguls, rarely stepping out at major events, they were once the most famous teenagers in the world after turning their early success on Full House into a billion-dollar empire. Thanks to the success of their straight-to-dvd movies, TV shows, and clothing line, the sisters have ranked on Forbes' list of America's Wealthiest Celebrities since they were 16 and have an...

When an offbeat daydreamer is sent by the God of Rap to save the world from an epidemic of trap music, he travels to its Atlanta source in search of a hip-hop savior: OutKast, the pioneering Southern rap duo that all but vanished from the music scene a decade ago.

Just in time for the Halloween movie-going season, Netflix is bringing out the big guns, offering up Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” as one of its marquee titles new to the service next month. Consider it a peace offering of sorts, as the rest of the month isn’t exactly bursting with other horror picks, beyond Mickey Liddell’s “The Haunting of Molly Hartley,” Jeff Wadlow’s “Truth or Dare,” and the decidedly creepy Dirty Harry feature “The Dead Pool.”

Throughout the '90s, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were America's most popular set of twins. But over the past decade, fans have started to wonder what happened to them. The twins have increasingly become more reclusive, only coming out of hiding for the occasional walk down the red carpet or to support their fashion brand, The Row. One of those times was this past month when the famous sisters showed up to the 2018 Met Gala. Immediately, fans had a lot of questions. For one, people wanted to know why their faces looked different, and two, they were curious on why the former child stars had been so private lately. 2018 Met Gala (Getty Images) Ever since the twins retired from acting when they were 18, their world has been a bit of a mystery — which is why we decided to poke through their private bubble and answer the questions that have followed...

Given the chance, few filmmakers would turn down the dream of one day directing a Star Wars movie, and fewer still would refuse that offer twice.
And yet, The Force Awakens helmer J.J. Abrams found himself in that exact position earlier this month. With Colin Trevorrow off Star Wars: Episode IX entirely, it didn’t take long before Lucasfilm came calling. The vocation? An opportunity to journey back to that galaxy far, far away and essentially close the circle in this current Star Wars trilogy. Abrams accepted, and the rest is history.
But as The Hollywood Reporter reveals, Paramount and CEO Jim Gianopulos were none too pleased with the decision. Since his work on Mission: Impossible 3, J.J. Abrams had struck a deal with Paramount that resulted in such lucrative blockbusters as Super 8 and a pair of rebooted Star Trek movies. Said to worth $10 million a year when accounting for overheads and development,...

Most detectives you see in films, particularly those that are from New York City, are hard as nails and have supposedly seen it all. They don’t take a lot of anything from anyone and will throw down with a suspect in a New York minute if they feel the need. It might not be a fair or even realistic representation of law enforcement in New York, but it definitely makes for an interesting cinematic experience. When you watch the tough, heavily-armed NYC detective go after the bad guys you can’t help but cheer as they perform their duty and look

Last Week’S Review: Adam and Hannah Play Out A Fantasy As Jessa’s Nightmare Comes True
Love Her or Hate Her
This entire season has been about Hannah finding a new level of maturity knowing that a baby is on the way, but up until this episode she’s always assumed she’d have the baby and live with it in New York. With Elijah, probably, in their tiny two-bedroom apartment. But with the months closing in and no real financial options presenting themselves, Hannah had to wrestle with whether or not to accept a position “teaching the Internet” at a swanky school upstate (and work for guest star Ann Dowd!) or to stay where she was with no real options. It was obvious what she was going to do from the second she was offered the job, but it made for an interesting 24-hour period of coincidences and farewells.

There were some tense moments on Colony Season 2 Episode 10, but for the most part, it was easy to determine their outcome.
Even so, we're dealing with situations that are building to what is sure to be a mind-blowing finale, and I'm getting antsy for renewal news.
By the end of "The Garden of Beasts" I could only imagine Maddie wondering if she chose the right side of her family for security, as well as the "where did we go wrong" thoughts running through Will and Katie's minds in regard to Bram.

How is it we've gotten this far into the superhero movie craze without actor Matt Damon joining in on the fun? The closest Damon has gotten is taking up the role of Jason Bourne in the Bourne series, which, let's be honest, isn't incredibly far from a superhero in how badass he is. But given the actor's age, what is the probability that we'll see him actually don the capes and tights of a DC or Marvel superhero this late in the game?
At the premiere of Jason Bourne, the latest in the Bourne franchise, he spoke to that question:
“I’d consider anything with the right director, but I can’t imagine there are any superheroes left, I think they’re all taken at this moment. If [Ben Affleck] was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute. I’d love to work with Ben."
