“There’s life on other planets. Well… by life, I mean some extraterrestrial water-borne primordial virus from hell.” A spacecraft bringing back water from Mars seems like a cause for celebration at first, but then it crash-lands and unleashes a zombie infection. Now terminal cancer-stricken Josh Hershberg is trying to find a new life in a dead world in Writer/Director Mitch Cohen’s zombie short, Super Zero.
Super Zero takes the tried and true horror genre environment of a zombie apocalypse and throws some interesting new ideas into it, including an intriguing protagonist who was suicidal when the world was healthy, but found a new reason to live when the blood hit the fan, all the while having his own ticking death sentence swirling in his head. Also featured in the short are unique weapons straight out of a James Bond movie or a steampunk novel. We have the...

Many of the great horror movies are great precisely for the heroines whom audiences can identify with and root for. And it’s almost always better to have a heroine rise up to defeat pure evil much more so than a male hero. Even more, it’s the rare horror movie that successfully subverts the heroine’s role, such as Marion Crane being killed just when we realize we are even watching a horror movie at all.
The nameless prostitute (Rodleen Getsic) at the center of Adam Rehmeier‘s The Bunny Game subverts the heroine’s role in entirely different ways. First of all, she’s a prostitute, not the typical chaste leading lady we are to expect. When we first see her, she is being debased and dominated by an overly aggressive client in graphic detail, in a way not unlike one might...

So now it looks like our previous story about Trinity X acquiring UK rights to Adam Rehmeier's independent feature The Bunny Game might have become moot as the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has rejected the sexually violent film on DVD. What does that mean exactly? Read on for the details.
BBFC Guidelines state “A strict policy on sexual violence and rape is applied. Content which might eroticise or endorse sexual violence may require cuts at any classification level. This is more likely with video works than film because of the potential for replaying scenes out of context. Any association of sex with non-consensual restraint, pain or humiliation may be cut.” As the BBFC sees it, the principal focus of The Bunny Game is the unremitting sexual and physical abuse of a helpless woman, as well as the sadistic and sexual pleasure the man derives from this. The...

Adam Rehmeier's independent feature The Bunny Game has found a home in the UK with Trinity X acquiring UK rights for the nasty little film we've been talking about for over a year now.
Mark Sandell, co-director of Trinity Films, said today: "Although 'The Bunny Game' is acquired viewing and deals with disturbing issues, it fits the Trinity X brand perfectly in that it is distinctive and independent film-making at its best, with strong performances and a highly original filmic eye".
Directed by filmmaker Adam Rehmeier from a screenplay by Rodleen Getsic and Rehmeier, the film follows a prostitute (played by a gutsy Rodleen Getsic) looking for her next meal who hitches a ride with a trucker (Jeff Renfro) that leaves her praying for her next breath.

Cautionary tales. You would think that by now someone would listen to at least one of them. Especially ones concerning the horrors of meeting up with strange people and offering ... let's just say your bodily services.

Bloody Disgusting stumbled (more like tripped) over a teaser and trailer for a new black and white indie flick that has me mesmerized. Directed by indie filmmaker Adam Rehmeier from a screenplay by Rodleen Getsic and Rehmeier, The Bunny Game follows a prostitute looking for her next meal who hitches a ride with a trucker that leaves her praying for her next breath. The trailers are gritty, mean and show some teeth. I'm quite curious to see the final product as this could go in any direction. Watch for more as it's revealed. What do you guys think of the two different trailers? The imagery definitely struck a nerve with me. Jeff Renfro and Rodleen Getsic star.
