Daisy Ridley is set to make a splash as swimming champion Gertrude “Trudy” Ederle in the upcoming biographical drama movie Young Woman and the Sea. However, on Monday, she failed to leave much of an impression while making the rounds on the media circuit to promote her latest project.
Ridley, styled by Leith Clark, donned four ensembles in one day, but only one drew my attention. This surprised me because I’ve always admired her taste for elegant, timeless, and flattering ensembles. Although her clothing choices are stylish, I don’t think they fit her figure well.

Charlamagne Tha God was a guest on The View to promote his book Get Honest or Die Lying and starred in a tense moment with the morning co-hosts.
Sunny Hostin asked the radio personality why he has not openly endorsed Joe Biden in his presidential reelection as he did in 2020.
“Well, since this book is all about having real conversations, let’s get to it. Let’s get real,” Hostin told Charlamagne. “You have a massive platform, reaching millions of listeners. You and I have talked about this before. You endorsed Joe Biden back in 2020, but this time around, you said you’re not going to endorse anybody. Charlamagne, now is not the time, in my opinion, to sit this one out.”
Charlamagne said, “I didn’t say that,” clarifying and adding, “I’m definitely voting in November but what I like to focus on is issues, not individuals.”

The hosts of The View brought one of the more controversial figures in talk media into the fold of their “Hot Topics” discussions on Tuesday, welcoming Real Time host Bill Maher to the table to talk about his coverage of the 2024 presidential election cycle so far on his HBO late-night series. “You’re a comic, but you basically go up against Trump and Biden, both of them, and a lot of people are not happy about that,” Joy Behar said at the start, to which Maher clarified, “Well, not equally.” “Well, not equally,” Behar agreed, “Because you know that Trump is more of a danger.” “Of course!” Maher conceded. “I don’t think anybody was more out front on that danger than I was. I was talking about how he was never going to give up power long ago when everybody was laughing at me and said, ‘You smoke too much pot,...

On Monday morning, the cohosts of The View weighed in on the recently-released video of Sean Combs aka Diddy attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie in 2016, as well as his on-camera apology for his behavior after the footage surfaced on CNN. Following remarks by other cohosts, Alyssa Farah Griffin revealed her personal connection to the case: “I hope the book’s thrown at him. The apology was lacking… He didn’t even name Cassie. There was no message to young men. There was no saying he was going to donate his millions to a domestic violence shelter. And part of this conversation I’ve seen since this video emerged is this question of, ‘Why didn’t she leave?’ I want to speak to that,” Griffin said. “I once was a victim of domestic abuse in a prior relationship,” the former Trump White House staffer explained. “It happened once. The “Since You Been Gone” singer Kelly Clarkson has somehow become a talk show “The View’s” treasure that needs to be protected at all costs by the co-hosts of the show. During a recent interview on her eponymous show “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Kelly admitted to guest Whoopi Goldberg that the secret behind her weight loss was a weight loss drug which she withheld its name.
Although she didn’t share the name of the weight loss drug she used, she assured viewers that it’s not Ozempic. “Everybody thinks it’s Ozempic — it’s not — it’s something else, but it’s something that aids in helping break down the sugar. Obviously, my body doesn’t do it right,” said Kelly. After her revelation, the ” American Idol” season 1 winner came under fire for previously saying that she lost weight through walking.

Bill Maher admitted he was confused on the latest episode of Real Time about the controversy surrounding Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker‘s commencement speech at Benedictine College.
This week, the NFL player was criticized across social media over his graduation speech at the private Catholic school, which included comments condemning abortion, euthanasia, IVF, surrogacy and the LGBTQ community. He also made some remarks directed towards women in the crowd, suggesting they should embrace being a “homemaker.”
Maher initially emphasized “how much this guy is not like me,” noting Butker’s “religious, he loves marriage, he loves kids,” — all things the comedian has publicly expressed not having an interest in.
“Here’s a quote of his, ‘I’ve seen it firsthand how much happier someone can be when they disregard the outside noise and move closer and closer to God’s will,'” Maher said. “Yeah, not me. I...

The hosts of The View had some strong feelings about the latest “Bennifer” gossip. On Friday’s edition, one of the hot topics for discussion was the rumored marital discord between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. In Touch reported on Wednesday, May 15, that the Hollywood power couple is heading for divorce and that he had already moved out of their shared home. The same publication later revealed a photo of the two being subsequently spotted together on Thursday, May 16, to watch Affleck’s son Fin in a school play. However, a source for the publication insisted their relationship was still strained, and it was just a “united front.” Prior to that sighting, they had not been photographed together since March 30 in New York, and Lopez attended the Met Gala on May 6 solo. Reportedly, Affleck was busy filming The Accountant 2 at the time. The New York Daily News, meanwhile, denied...

For a long time, there’s been claims that this generation is so sensitive and you have to be careful about what you say or it might be taken out of context.
This especially rings through when you consider that a lot of celebrities have had to apologize, explain or even, in extreme cases, retract their statements because it was not received in good taste by the fans. For example, Taylor Swift’s ‘Anti-hero’ music video was criticized for being fatphobic, so much so, she cut the scene exciting all the backlash.
In the same way, Whoopi Goldberg thinks woke culture has not only affected ‘The View,’ but warped it from what it used to be. Here’s what she has to say.

Although there‘s been a shift in how TV viewership is counted, in 2024, Nielsen’s Live+Same Day tracking still remains the best indicator of the overall audience for daytime programming.
Unlike several primetime and streaming shows, daytime programs don’t typically see much growth in terms of delayed viewing beyond the initial sample we report each week. That said, daytime dramas, in particular, do perform well on streaming, although those viewing figures remain unavailable to the public/press.
During the week of May 6-10, 2024, “General Hospital” was below the two million viewer mark, averaging just 1.876 million viewers. This marked the fourth consecutive week where the show was below two million viewers and the 10th time overall this season it has been below that number. Kelly Clarkson looks and feels amazing. But with so much discussion around celebrities taking the diabetes drug Ozempic to aid in weight loss, it seems that any time someone makes a lifestyle change, people assume they’re taking the medication. In late April, Barbra Streisand made headlines when she commented on actor Melissa McCarthy’s Instagram photo asking if she lost weight with Ozempic — it’s become the norm to question it.
Pop icon Kelly Clarkson recently appeared on The View, where she made sure to let people know she is not one of the celebs on the weight loss drug.

The View has been around since 1997 and has held its ground ever since. Though hosts and moderators have changed based on ratings, the times, and general popularity, it is still very popular. Meghan McCain is giving her final thoughts on the talk show she co-hosted for four years, The View. Though she did not have the best experience, that does not necessarily mean she has left with a bad taste in her mouth. So, what did the mother of two have to say? Keep reading for more details.
Meghan McCain Gives Final Thoughts On The View
In 2017, Meghan McCain took her official seat as a co-host on The View. This a talk show where all voices and opinions are welcomed. As a more conservative person, Meghan let her side be known and never held back. However, that could also be detrimental to her position in the group. One thing that Meghan always acknowledged was how lucky she was to have gotten the job. More so, she understood how many people would have killed for that position. Whoopi Goldberg was the latest guest on “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” on Max and was asked about what it’s been like co-hosting ABC’s “The View” for the last 17 years. The Egot winner joined the daytime franchise in 2007. Asked by Wallace if she still likes hosting the program, Goldberg acknowledged that it was a better gig back in the day when people did not automatically weaponize everything she said.
“I liked it better before because there was not … people didn’t didn’t assume that you were starting out to be nasty or horrible or saying stuff,” Goldberg said. “You used to say something and somebody would say, ‘Well, actually, that’s not so.’ And you could make that adjustment. Or you could say, ‘Well, here’s what … this is why I thought about it this way.’ You can’t do that anymore. Nobody wants to hear what you were thinking.

Things got a bit steamy on The View recently when Sunny Hostin shared excerpts of her newest book, Summer on Highland Beach, with the ladies.
The ladies had all been laughing and joking just before Sunny asked Joy Behar to read some of the “sexy parts” of her newest book.
This book, coming out May 28, is the third of Sunny’s Sag Harbor series, and Sunny has been busy promoting it since Christmas.
In this hot political season, it is good for the ladies to take a break and talk about other issues, even if they are a bit hot and steamy.
Whoopi Goldberg started the segment asking about sexy books and shared an article from the New York Post that said reading erotica is more effective than watching it.
She asked Joy what she thought; it was the perfect segue for Sunny to ask her to read from her newest book.

Donald Trump‘s criminal trial in New York had a special guest in the audience: The View star Sunny Hostin. Hostin, who has a background as a prosecutor, attended the trial on Thursday and shared her findings with her cohosts on Friday morning — with some interesting views about the matter. After offering her thoughts on what it was like seeing him in person for the first time — “I didn’t realize he was that orange,” she said in all seriousness, adding that it was a “shocking” shade — she went on to critique his behavior. “Let me set the stage because I think people that haven’t been in the courtroom don’t understand the gravity of it… You’ve got this very large courtroom — it’s an older courtroom. You’ve got an ‘In God We Trust’ seal right next to the American flag… the New York State flag, a...

Joy Behar doesn’t usually get flustered easily, but she was left hot under the collar on Wednesday’s (May 8) episode of The View when her co-hosts told her to read some sexy excerpts from Sunny Hostin‘s new novel. Promoting her new book Summer on Highland Beach, Hostin asked Behar to read some of the more steamier passages from the novel. Taking the book from Hostin, Behar did her best Dr. Ruth impression and read the first excerpt. “Desire hit her hard and fast. She was burning up, sparked by fire, lit by joy — really? — he’d forgotten how delicious spearmint tasted on her lips,” she read. The long-time comedian and TV personality managed to get through the first passage relatively unscathed. But the heat turned up a notch when Alyssa Farah Griffin urged her to “read the naughtier one.” “Oh, it’s so bad. You really want me to read that?...

Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) would not commit to accepting the outcome of the 2024 presidential election in a new interview. The South Carolina senator is on former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential shortlist.
On Sunday, Meet the Press host Kristen Welker asked Scott, “You voted to certify the election results of 2020. It’s the opposite of what you said and did after 2020. Why would you want to be on a ticket with someone where there’s such a fundamental difference?”
“There is clear facts here,” Scott replied. “President Trump himself said he expects this election to be fair. He expects it to be honest. And he expects to win. That’s what the presidential candidate should expect. And I expect the exact same thing. And frankly, the American people agree with him. This is an issue that is not an issue. So I’m not going to make it an issue.

Kim Godwin hoped to build ABC News’ future by cutting out some of its past.
Tasked, ostensibly, with shaking up a culture of the Disney-backed news organization that pit anchors against one another and led to claims of intolerable behavior behind the scenes, Godwin was supposed to revamp a storied journalism hub without losing any of the impetus that spurred employees to make shows such as “World News Tonight” and “Good Morning America” the most-watched in their category.
But the ABC News president, who was still working Monday after sending out a letter Sunday announcing her retirement following a shaky three-year reign, lost the support of much of the news operation by installing an array of senior executives who proved difficult to work with, while ousting veterans who had the respect of their colleagues. Kim Godwin, the ABC News president who was the first Black woman to run a broadcast network news operation, is leaving the Disney unit amid increasing concern about the way she was managing the home of shows like “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight.”
Godwin told staffers in a memo Sunday that she planned to “retire from broadcast journalism.” Her command had come under increasing scrutiny since a restructuring of ABC News and Disney’s ABC stations had her reporting directly to Debra OConnell, a Disney business veteran who is seen as a valued operator at the company. OConnell will lead ABC News for the foreseeable future, she told employees Sunday evening.
A Disney spokesperson declined to make executives available for additional comment or to respond to a query about what changes Godwin’s exit might mean for the executive’s immediate direct reports or the management of individual ABC News programs.
