François Chau was born on 26 October 1959 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is an actor, known for Rescue Dawn (2006), Lost (2004) and The Tick (2016).- Haing S. Ngor was a native of Cambodia. Before the war, he was a physician & medical officer in the Cambodian army. He became a captive of the Khmer Rouge. He was imprisoned & tortured. In order to escape execution, he denied being a doctor or having an education. He moved to the U.S. as a refugee in 1980. Though he had no formal acting experience, he was chosen to portray photographer Dith Pran in The Killing Fields (1984) & won an Academy Award. He went on to a modestly distinguished acting career while continuing to work w/ human rights organizations in Cambodia on improving the conditions in resettlement camps as well as attempting to bring the perpetrators of the Cambodian massacre to justice. OnFebruary 25, 1996, he was found shot to death in the garage of his apartment building in L.A. Relatives & friends speculated that the killing was revenge for his opposition to the Khmer Rouge.

Rithy Panh was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 18th april 1964. He is today one of the most acclaimed documentary filmmakers and the most famous Cambodian filmmaker worldwide. After 1975 his family died through the genocidal Khmer Rouge government (1975-1979) while he could escape in 1979 to Thailand. Panh arrived a year later in Paris, France as an orphan and stayed. Rithy Panh later studied at 'La Fémis', the French National Cinema School. In 1989, Site 2 (1989), his first documentary about Cambodian refugees, won several international awards. Since then Panh created a unique body of work consisting of documentaries and feature films that mostly deal with the modern Cambodia and the traumatic legacy of the Khmer Rouge regime. His most famous documentary is probabaly S21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine (2003) about the infamous torture prison of the Khmer Rouge. Later his avant-garde documentary The Missing Picture (2013) became the first Cambodian film nominated for an Academy Award as 'Best Foreign Language Film'. Rithy Panh, along with director Ieu Pannakar, has developed 'Bophana: Audio Visual Resource Center - Cambodia', with an aim towards preserving the country's film, photographic and audio history. Rithy Panh received an honorary doctorate in 2011 by the University of Paris-VIII and published in 2012 his acclaimed autobiography "L'Élimination". Hong Khaou was born on 22 October 1975 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He is a director and writer, known for Lilting (2014), Monsoon (2019) and Spring (2011).- Pol Pot was a Cambodian revolutionary, dictator, and politician who ruled Cambodia as Prime Minister of Democratic Kampuchea between 1976 and 1979. Ideologically a Marxist-Leninist and a Khmer nationalist, he was a leading member of Cambodia's communist movement, the Khmer Rouge, from 1963 until 1997 and served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kampuchea from 1963 to 1981. Norodom Sihanouk born October 31, 1922 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was a director, writer and composer, Prince Norodom Sihanouk was appointed the King of Cambodia in 1941, when he was merely nineteen years. He remained the ruler of the nation for fourteen years, from 1941 to 1955 and again from 1993 to 2004, interspersed with brief but frequent spells as Prime Minister. Sihanouk was enthusiastic about the trends and glamour of the western world. He introduced "The Twist" in Cambodia in 1960 and became a record producer of Cambodian pop and rock'n roll music. These new cultural expressions upset some groups. Sihanouk banished this opposition to his pop concept from the capital Phnom Penh. Part of the resistance eventually created the movement Khmer Rouge. In 1965 Norodom Sihanouk expanded his modern idea of Cambodia to include film. He wrote, directed, produced and appeared in documentaries and feature films for five years. He resumed filming in North Korea in 1988. Sihanouk's last film, "Le Cid Khmer", was released in Cambodia 2005. Over the years, Prince/King/Prime Minister Norodom Sihanouk resided in, apart from Cambodia, in the People's Republic of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. He died of a heart attack on October 15, 2012, in Beijing, China.- Kon Samoeun was born in Cambodia sometime in 1947. It is believed his acting career started in 1964 and he later became one of the most popular Cambodian actor's of the late 1960's and 1970's. He ranked higher than all Cambodian actors of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He starred in more than half of the films released per year from the years 1967-1975 giving him a total of more than 120 films in less than ten years. His career was cut short when the Khmer Rouge took power in Cambodia in 1975. It is believed that he died in 1976 under circumstances that remain unclear.

Sinn Sisamouth was an influential and highly prolific Cambodian singer-songwriter from the 1950s to the 1970s. Widely considered the "King of Khmer music," Sinn Sisamouth, along with Ros Serey Sothea, Pen Ran, Mao Sareth, and other Khmer artists, was part of a thriving pop music scene in Phnom Penh that blended elements of Khmer traditional music with the sounds of rhythm and blues and rock and roll to develop a Cambodian rock sound. Sokpoly Voeun AKA "POLY" (born 11 July 1990) is a Cambodian director, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker, horror and action thriller.
His birth name is "Kim Poly". He has two fathers; his stepfather's name "Bona Samrith", his mother's name "Channa Touch" and his biological father's name "Polin Kim", who left him in 1991 after he was one year old. A year later, his mother married his stepfather in 1992.
In 2008, while deciding to graduate from primary school due to the family crisis, POLY became interested in the art of photography and decided to buy his first camera without knowing the exact shooting techniques. Two or three years later, because there was no goal and no guide, POLY decided to give up his dream and look for a job as a normal person. However, because he loves the art of photography and film. POLY also returns to researching the art of filmmaking through the internet and various workshops, as well as activities with a team of filmmakers in the film industry. POLY also got a lot of experience from it. However, there is still no recognition because POLY is not a student from a film school or has a degree from any film institution. Five years later, POLY was given the opportunity to release his first photography and video artworks, but the artworks were not recognized and used. Many years later, POLY struggled to find supporters and collaborations to produce several short films on its own and without any funding. Some of his films were successfully produced, such as "My Tasks 2023", but the main parts were cut off due to lack of funds, some were already produced but were canceled (Lullabox 2022) and some were not getting any support or off got produced "One Day I'll Fly 2023".
Until 2024, POLY has successfully recruited film students, filmmaking lovers and their friends who are metal music artists to participate in the production of "Metal Strings 2024" without budgets and special gear.- Additional Crew
