Lucifer returns with the back half of its penultimate season on Friday, May 28 — and here to start getting you amped up for those eight new episodes (as well as the Netflix’s drama’s final season) is Og cast member Db Woodside.
Season 5A left off with Amenadiel and Lucifer (played by Woodside and Tom Ellis) throwing down against Michael and a jaded Maze (also Ellis, and Lesley-Ann Brandt) after time mysteriously “stopped” at the cop shop — and just as Chloe (Lauren German) was nudging Luci to say those three not-so-little words! Eddie Brock is back in the driving seat of the Venom symbiote just in time for an oversized 150th issue, which boasts an exciting main story and a couple of bonus features that are sure to thrill fans.
The plot is a fascinating one that dives deep into the relationship between Eddie Brock and the symbiote. Over the course of his run so far, Mike Costa’s gone to great effort to flesh out the symbiote as a character in its own right, which sets up a fascinating arc, one that proclaims itself as a ‘love story.’ He presents the relationship between Eddie and the symbiote as an abusive relationship, one in which the Venom symbiote attempts to force Brock to be who it wants him to be. What’s more, it’s immediately apparent that the...

It could certainly be argued that Venom is poised to be a bigger deal than he’s ever been before. Think about it: Not only is Eddie Brock once again one with the symbiote, but his first big screen solo outing will finally hit theaters in 2018. In addition to that awesomeness, his eponymous comic book will soon revert to its classic numbering – the first of many Marvel titles to do so in the coming months – with its milestone 150th issue.
As is to be expected from an oversized issue such as this, more than one tale will be found within its pages. First, let’s take a look at the synopsis of the main attraction:

It’s time to party like it’s 1999, because Eddie Brock is back in the driving seat of Venom.
The symbiote’s status quo has been as fluid as its own form over the last few years. Mac Gargan was Venom for a time – even becoming a member of the Dark Avengers, and more recently, Flash Thompson became a fan-favorite as Agent Venom, even joining the Guardians of the Galaxy for a while. Returned to Earth, the symbiote has now found a new host – former Ranger Lee Price. Venom #6, though, is the moment when all that changes.
It’s the issue where the Venom symbiote finally goes home.
Mike Costa’s script is smart and savvy, and – in a delightful twist – neither Lee Price nor Eddie Brock is the main character of this issue. Rather, the symbiote is.

Well, Venom certainly has been the talk of the town in recent weeks, hasn’t he? Aside from a movie starring the cult favorite anti-hero being closer to becoming a reality than ever before, True Believers can sleep easier knowing that Eddie Brock will make his triumphant return to the comic books in a matter of weeks.
It’s well known that several others have bonded with the symbiote in recent years and each probably accrued a generous fan base, but it stands to reason that the majority will always yearn for the first to take up a specific mantle to come back at some point. And that’s what makes the next few months of Venom comics so special.
While we bide our time waiting for the big moment, Marvel has put out a small preview...

Not long ago, we learned that Eddie Brock, the original Venom, would be returning this spring just in time to see the comic book series that also bears that name reach the milestone of its 150th issue. But just because he was slated to be involved, we all knew that didn’t necessarily mean he would once again don his iconic black and white costume in anything other than promo and cover art.
Well, I guess today is the day we can stop playing the “will he or won’t he?” game because it appears that Brock will indeed bond with the symbiote once more, at least for this particular issue. Check out the description from Marvel and see for yourself:
