- Writer
Jeff Van Wie was born in Niskayuna, NY on March 30, 1965. He is the
youngest of five children and grew up in Suffern, NY. He attended
Suffern High School and was an honor student, thespian and record
setting track athlete. In 2006 when he was inducted into the Rockland
County Sports Hall of Fame, he was introduced as, "Rockland County's
most accomplished track performer on the national stage." During his
high school years he set five Rockland County and one New York State
record that all still stand today. Jeff earned a full scholarship to
the University of Notre Dame and in 1986 he earned All-American honors.
After graduation from Notre Dame, Jeff pursued a career with the
world's leading provider of information technology consulting and
outsourcing services. During his twenty-two years with Accenture, Jeff
was promoted to Partner in 2000 and was rated the top-performer
globally on a consistent basis. Jeff also had the desire and talent to
write stories. As a result, he trained himself in the art and science
of writing screenplays. His early works provided a strong foundation
for him to approach Nicholas Sparks with an idea for a script about the
human struggle. The end product was a beautiful story about a young man
who survives the dangers of his world to accomplish his dream. One
Square Mile was co-written by Nicholas and Jeff in 2008. Shortly after
completing One Square Mile, Hollywood recognized the writing duo and
approached Nicholas Sparks to write The Last Song for Miley Cyrus.
Nicholas and Jeff co-wrote the script and the film became a worldwide
success at the box office. Today Jeff continues to collaborate with
Nicholas Sparks on future projects. He lives in Chatham, NJ with his
wife and three daughters.
