ABC has a proven track record of developing cutting-edge (for Primetime anyway), ethnically diverse comedies like Modern Family, Black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat and Speechless. So, the network has set the bar high for American Housewife. Unfortunately, this sitcom about a zaftig housewife and the day-to-day challenges she faces as a stay-at-home mom is uninspired, and at times, downright offensive.

It was the second double-elimination in a row as former NFL star Michael Irvin and Iron Chef America host Mark Dacascos were eliminated Tuesday night on Dancing with the Stars. Irvin, who improved his dance scores each week, says the voters kept him and his partner Anna Demidova in the game for seven weeks. "We have great love out here," Irvin told People after the show. "The voters kept us in. We were scoring 13s and 14s. That makes you feel great!" Unfortunately, he scored the lowest among the seven couples Monday night and didn’t have a chance to compete in the dance-off, which featured Dacascos and pop star Aaron Carter. The judges raved about both performances, but in the end, the judges preferred Carter's jive to Dacascos's cha cha. "Would I trade the experience? Heck, no!" says Dacascos. "It was one of the best professional experiences I've had in my life!

Michael Irvin and Mark Dacascos have become the ninth and tenth celebrities to be voted off this season's Dancing With The Stars. The NFL star and Iron Chef America's Dacascos were booted off the ABC competition during last night's live show. Irvin and professional partner Anna Demidova were eliminated first after receiving the lowest overall combined total of judges' points and viewer votes. Speaking after the result was announced, he said: "Last night was a great night and to see the audience here standing up, it's a way of saying they appreciate the hard work and I think that means a great deal to a lot of people." NFL great Michael Irvin and "Iron Chef America" host Mark Dacascos became the next two celebs to get ousted on "Dancing with the Stars"! Michael and his pro partner Anna Demidova were the first duo booted on Tuesday night after receiving the lowest combined total of judges' scores and viewer votes. The former football star thanked his fans and Anna. Then, Mark and Lacey Schwimmer tried to cha cha their way past Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff's jive in an elimination dance-off. But the judges, despite giving both duos rave reviews, unanimously voted to keep Aaron and Karina around. "It’s certainly much harder than it looks on television," Mark said of the competition. "But the bond you create with the dancers, the other celebs, is pretty special." Also on the results show, rock legend Rod Stewart, singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat, and the Ballas Hough Band performed.

NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin is the one taking the exit from "Dancing with the Stars" this week. The number of votes from the audience did not help to crank up the score he received on Monday, November 3 performance. Ironically, his solo Foxtrot earned him 23 points out of 30, his best score during the entire season.
Together with his partner Anna Demidova, Irvin earned praises for his smooth Foxtrot. Len said it was brilliant while Carrie Ann branded it "gracious and fluid". Michael and Anna also participated on the group dance, the Paso Doble. With Aaron Carter, Mark Dacascos and Mya, Irvin added 24 to his total number.
"Last night was a great night and to see the audience here standing up... it's a way of saying they appreciate your hard work," Irvin said about the elimination. Demidova meanwhile said, "I want to say thank you to Michael for being a wonderful partner.

Former NFL star Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova kicked off the night's performances with the foxtrot. Head judge Len Goodman declared, "I am going to be honest. "This is a transformation," Carrie Ann Inaba told him and partner Kym Johnson. Bruno Tonioli proclaimed, "finally [you're] turning into Donny Darko!" She got the crowd on its feet, but the judges told Mya that she had to work on the emotional aspect of the dance. "You move so well," Carrie Ann said of her tango, "[but] it was distant without an inner dialogue." Head judge Len Goodman disagreed. "I never really know what I like until I see it and, I've got to say, I liked that," he said. Could Mark Dacascos...

It was a night of Spanish dancing as the celebs and their pro partners danced either the sassy paso doble or the fiery and sensuous Argentine tango. Two dancers were struck by the flu -- Mark Ballas recovered enough to take to the dance floor Monday night, but Derek Hough sat the night out, appearing on the program but with Maksim Chmerkovskiy taking his place in the competition. First up were Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo with the paso doble, which earned them a score of 22. Judge Len Goodman thought the pair could use more chemistry, while judge Carrie Ann Inaba critiqued, "I think you move really, really well. I just want you to remember to go out passed your body." Up next were singer Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff with their own Argentine tango, which scored a 24. Carrie Ann thought it was "excellent," while judge Bruno Tonioli enthused,...

"Dancing with the Stars" kicked it up a notch this week by introducing dances that have never been performed on the show; the Lambada, Bolero, Charleston and country two-step. Melissa Joan Hart and Mya were clearly leaders, while others failed to master the tricky steps.
Hart and professional partner Mark Ballas performed an energetic Charleston for the judging panel. The lively dance fit well with Melissa's bubbly personality -- and pleased the judges. Len Goodman...

Week 4 on Dancing With The Stars brought out four new routines—the bolero, two-step, lambada and Charleston—three perfect scores, two leaders and one elated former teenage witch. Melissa Joan Hart charmed the crowd with a jumpy Charleston that had audience member Gilles Marini and his plus-one, Brothers and Sisters costar Rachel Griffiths, on their feet. "I've gotten lots of perfect scores [in past seasons] but tonight is my proudest 10 I've ever gotten," Hart's dance partner Mark Ballas said after the show. "Going from [a score of] 19 to 28 in a week, it's unheard of!" Melissa's effort, however, couldn't knock last week's frontrunner, Mya, from the top of the leader board. With a hot lambada, a.k.a. "the forbidden dance," that had judge Bruno Tonioli fanning himself, Mya and Dmitry Chaplin also scored a 28. But they once again failed to please head judge Len Goodman. "I felt in the lambada I was going to get a little bit more,...

Singer Mya and her dancing partner Dmitry Chaplin were top scorers on the Monday, October 12 episode of "Dancing with the Stars". The duo scored a total of 28 points, thanks to their lambada, which earned them an 8 from judge Len Goodman and 10 each from judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
"My expectations are really high and I felt in the lambada I was going to get a bit more," Len expressed his disappointment toward their performance. Bruno, however, considered their dance to be an "erotic, exotic roller coaster."
Mya and Dmitry shared the top spot with fellow competitors on season 9 of the dancing competition, Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas. The partners also also managed to earn 28 points from judges. "Melissa, you brought the 1920's Hollywood flapper back to life," Bruno said on the reason why he gave them a perfect 10 for their Charleston. "You have the role 110 percent!"

After last week's elimination of Debi Mazar and Tom DeLay's withdrawal due to injury, only 11 teams remain on "Dancing with the Stars." This week, the celebs and their professional partners performed one of four dances that have not been previously seen on the show: the Country Two Step, the Bolero, the Charleston and the Lambada. Former Ufc champ Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya were up first with the Country Two Step. Head judge Len Goodman told him, "I thought the lift was very good. What I like about you is you bring entertainment to the show. There is a novelty factor about you because [we] don't expect you to be able to dance. Your quality of dancing isn't there. You need to improve." Bruno commented, "You bring carnage and mayhem in everything you do, but it still managed to look like a Two Step." Carrie Ann agreed, adding, "Of all the dances you have done,...

There will be four new dances on this week's Dancing with the Stars - the bolero, the Charleston, the Lambada, and the country two-step. And I think we can pretty much figure out which couple is going home based on these dances and how they've performed so far.
The Bolero, which will be sampled by Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo, and Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova, is a slow Cuban/Spanish dance with lots of passionate and romantic arm movements. The Charleston, to be danced by by Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas, Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson, and Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel, is a fun dance with lots of heel kicks.

Happy almost birthday, Mya. Friends threw our Dancing With the Stars pal an early surprise party for her 30th last night at L.A. hot spot Coco De Ville. (The actual big day is Oct. 10.) "We were just having dinner at Stk and we came over and it was, 'Happy Birthday!'" Mya said. "There were balloons everywhere and some old acquaintances that I hadn't been in touch with in a while." But, of course, there was a gaggle of new friends from Dwts… Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson, Anna Demidova, Chuck Lidell and Mya's Dancing partner, Dmitry Chaplin, were there, along with Lance Bass, Brittany Snow and celebrity DJ Tracy Young. The B-day bash wasn't the...

Following Tom DeLay's announcement that he'd be hanging up his dancing shoes due to injury, Debi Mazar was eliminated from the competition. Upon learning the news, Mazar told "Dancing with the Stars" hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris, "I definitely know a few more steps and I've had a great time, I've loved every moment of it." She also gave a shout-out to her partner, professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, saying, "I loved my time with Maks." Joining Debi and Maks in the bottom two were football great Michael Irvin and his partner Anna Demidova. The episode also included musical performances by Queen Latifah.

Thirteen couples heated up the ballroom (or tried to) on Monday night's Dancing with the Stars, performing sexy Latin dances, the samba and the rumba, in the ballroom. Mya and Dmitri Chaplin's rumba was the night's scorching highlight. "I had chills," said Carrie Ann Inaba, who gave the couple the first 10 of the season. Bruno Tonioli also gave them a 10, but Len Goodman, who was back on the panel and as hard to please as ever, gave them just seven points. "There was too much going on," he said. Natalie Coughlin kicked off a sexy rumba with a moody start that had the audience cheering for more. Her long legs and technical form pleased the all the judges, but Bruno said her performance was out of this world. "I knew you could fly, but that was stratospheric!" he said. At the start of the Joanna Krupa's fun-loving samba, her...

It was a night of sizzling sambas and romantic rhumbas when the celebs took to the dance floor for this week's "Dancing with the Stars" competition, but it was questionable whether or not Tom DeLay was going to be able to dance because his injury had developed into a full stress fracture. Paula Abdul was in the audience, seated next to Lance Bass. She told host Tom Bergeron: "It is a great season. The show tonight was amazing. Everything was great until you sat next to me and disturbed me." Then she gave a shout out to Len Goodman: "Mr. Goodman, you are Mr. Badman tonight." "Iron Chef"'s Chairman Mark Dacascos and his partner Lacey Schwimmer kicked off the night with the rhumba. Lead judge Len Goodman cautioned them that "grumpy was back," but then he went on to give a not-so-harsh review. "The rhumba for the celebrity man is hard,...

After all 16 couples performed on the premiere week of Dancing with the Stars, there's no clear indication if this season's going to be dominated by the guys or the girls. Leading the pack for ladies are new Dancing with the Stars season 9 golden couple Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough with 34 points, with yet another blonde person Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff trailing them by a mere 2 points. Mya should've been way up there, if it weren't for a disagreement in the scoring / choreography, but as things stand, she and Dmitry Chaplin round up the top 3 at 31 points, tied with surprise wonder Kelly Osbourne and Louis van Amstel.
On the other side of the spectrum, three couples have the lowest scores at 19, so judging from the scores alone, it's not a giveaway who'll get the boot on tomorrow's double elimination. The three 19-scoring couples are very adorable Macy Gray and Jonathan Roberts,...

Donny Osmond got some coaching from his sister Marie Osmond on the sidelines. He said, "Just before the relay salsa, we know sign language and she was signing to me. There were three things she said. 'You look great. Smile. I'm still a better dancer.'" Marie placed third in a previous season of the hit competition show. Let's hear it for the boys! Dancing with the Stars' eight male contestants took to the freshly buffed parquet floor Monday night to kick off the new season. First up, were pop star Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff, who appeared to be wearing the same fringe pants that she performed in at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night. Cheered on by Aaron's brother, Nick Carter and his fellow Backstreet Boys, the duo delivered a solid cha cha. Len Goodman said it was full of potential. Bruno Tonioli called it sharp and edgy. And they were awarded 22 points. It was a tough act to follow for ultimate fighter Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya, who performed a clunky and funky fox trot. Carrie Ann Inaba thought Chuck was smooth and Len suggested Chuck get in touch with his feminine side. Their debut earned 16 points. Iron Chef America host Mark Dacascos and...
