Maarten Buning (born 25 November 1983) is a Dutch - Trinidadian composer, record producer and multi-instrumentalist, best known for his scores to motion pictures. During his studies at the Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands, Buning worked on a number of American film productions such as Rampage, Capital Punishment, Rampage: president Down, Assault on Wallstreet, Far Cry, Darfur, In the name of the King: two worlds, In the name of the King 3: The Last Mission.
After graduating, he started working mainly on feature films and television drama, mostly known for scoring Prisoners of the Sun (2013), starring John Rhys Davies and David Charvet, directed by Roger Christian. In 2016 Buning started a music production company, Koch Buning, under which he scored the short multi-award winning LGBT drama 'Anders' (English title Something about Alex) and received an award at the Independent Days International Filmfest. Buning released his first independent concept album 'Achterkant van Nederland' in 2018 under pseudonym Maximé, performed in Dutch.
