Dazn Group has announced a pair of co-ceos, Shay Segev and James Rushton.
Rushton had been Dazn’s acting CEO since June 2020. Prior to that, he was the company’s chief revenue officer.
Segev comes over from sports betting and gaming company Entain, which also has a tech-centric focus.
“This is an important moment for Dazn Group as we deepen our leadership team and ready the organization for its next phase of growth,” John Skipper, Dazn Group executive chairman, said in a statement on Monday. “James has displayed tremendous leadership, navigating incredible challenges and achieving terrific results which have made us a stronger and more focused company.
“In Shay, we’re adding depth and fresh expertise to the team. He is recognized as one of the leading figures in online gaming and brings vast technology and operations experience to the role as well as an impressive track record in digital transformation.

The purge at ESPN continues, as longtime show host Dan Le Batard will leave the network in January.
The announcement of his departure said Le Batard “will be leaving ESPN early next year to pursue a new opportunity.” His ESPN radio show, The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, will end Jan. 4. His hosting of the TV show Highly Questionable will finish the same day, but the show will remain on ESPN with what’s described as a “contributing team.”
“It was mutually agreed that it was best for both sides to move on to new opportunities and we worked together closely to make that possible,” said Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president and executive editor. “We thank Dan for his many years and contributions to ESPN and wish him all the best going forward.”

ESPN said it would cancel its flagship morning radio program, “Golic & WIngo,” while bringing Mike Greenberg, half of the team that helped the Disney sports-media giant carve a bigger business in the audio world, back to the medium as part of a reworking of its national lineup.
Greenberg, who spent 17 years with co-host Mike Golic on the morning radio program “Mike & Mike,” will keep his duties on the ESPN mid-morning TV program, “Get Up,” which he has helped anchor since the Spring of 2018. But he will also lead a new two-hour radio show that airs between noon and 2 p.m. weekdays. His former partner, Mike Golic will leave mornings along with Trey Wingo. The pair has hosted their program since November of 2017.
“Our new lineup will provide sports fans informative and engaging content throughout the week from hosts who all have radio experience,” said Norby Williamson, ESPN’s executive vice president and executive editor,...

ESPN’s newest game starts hours, even days, before any team steps onto the field of play.
The Disney-owned sports-media giant heads this weekend into a massive round of live broadcasts across its flagship cable outlet, ESPN2, Espnu, the broadband service ESPN+ and ABC that will showcase everything from the NBA Playoffs to Ufc and Top Rank Boxing matches to a Mexico-based Major League Baseball game. But the kickoff for events like these is starting earlier than ever for producers and analysts.
“It’s not just that we want to be in your life at 8 p.m. before the game comes on at 8:15,” says Connor Schell, executive vice president of content at ESPN, in a recent interview at the network’s New York offices. Through use of digital media, he says, producers are working to start conversations about sports events days and even weeks before they take place...

The folks at Just Not Sports had real men read real tweets made about female sports reporters Sarah Spain and Julie Dicaro to their faces, and the guys couldn’t believe how nasty fans can get. “One of the players should beat you to death with their hockey stick,” one message said. Another referred to the women as “whores,” and then the messages started to get really mean, often referring to the ladies by the C-word. One commenter even said he “hopes your dog gets hit by a car.” Also Read: Why CNN's Clarissa Ward May Be the Biggest Badass in Cable News One classy.
