Misty Marshall
- Actress
Misty Marshall was born on a stage...well, almost! Being the child of
two performers, she spent much of her childhood in front of an
audience. She was in her first play by the age of four, and quickly
developed a love for the theater. She became involved in countless
plays, working both onstage and backstage. As a teenager Misty attended
New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Theatre Program and continued to
perform at various playhouses around New Orleans including Le Petit,
CAST, and Southern Repertory Theater. She also spent two years
interning at CBS WWL channel 4 as a movie reviewer and celebrity
interviewer, attending press junkets in New Orleans and Los Angeles.
After graduating, Misty was accepted on scholarship to the American
Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. She studied drama and music
there until landing a job with a touring musical production show. Soon
after, her love for entertainment took a different route and Misty
began circus training. She picked up skills like trapeze, stilts,
contortion, and fire dancing. She went on to develop her fire show and
performed for conventions, films, music videos, and television. This
work eventually led her to move to Los Angeles. It was there that she
trained with Salome Jens Actors Studio. Misty eventually returned to
N.O. to study Screenwriting at Tulane Univ and UNO. During this time,
she auditioned for American Idol and made it all the way to being a
Hollywood Week Semi-Finalist! After leaving the show, she became the
FOX 8 WVUE weekly AI reporter. She also performed at live venues with
her band, such as Hard Rock Cafe, House of Blues, and Tipitinas. When
Hurricane Katrina hit, Misty relocated to New York to continue singing
and acting. She worked on several CD and movie projects and was invited
to join the Screen Actors Guild. Her latest project landed her as lead
in the film "Haunted High," playing on SyFy. Misty is an actress,
singer, writer, puppeteer, contortionist, aerialist, emcee, director,
and teacher. She loves the craft of acting and performing and continues
to devote her life honing those skills.
