To inaugurate their new console, the Switch, Nintendo released The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The game revitalized and reinvented the entire Legend of Zelda franchise and even the open-world genre. Countless games, including Genshin Impact and Elden Ring, have since channeled the same open-world design energy, but fans didn’t know how Nintendo would follow up their milestone achievement of a game. Would the company continue what Breath of the Wild started or return to the classic Legend of Zelda design for their next Zelda title? More importantly, would Tears of the Kingdom live up to this franchise’s incredibly high standards?
For the most part, Tears of the Kingdom expands on what came before in Breath of the Wild. The game is an open-world adventure that lets players explore Hyrule at their leisure, but this time, players can use new abilities that expand Link’s arsenal...

Square Enix’s Forspoken is certainly one of the biggest new releases of 2023 so far, but its road to release has been a bit rocky. Not only did many previews (including our own) point out some of the game’s notable early issues, but full reviews of the game have been embargoed until the day before its release, and many outlets have reported that they did not receive an early review code. As we are one of those outlets, we’re instead bringing you a roundup of some of the notable Forspoken reviews so far.
At the moment, it seems safe to say that reviews of Forspoken are mixed and trending towards slightly negative. You won’t have to look hard to find praise for the game, though much of that praise is tempered by the reality of some of Forspoken‘s shortcomings. Other outlets were much more concerned with those shortcomings.

Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably the most highly-anticipated game of 2020, and after several delays and other controversies, it’s finally here. Fans will be able to get their hands on CD Projekt Red’s new RPG on Dec. 10 (unless you pre-ordered from Best Buy). Ahead of the global launch, here’s what critics are saying about the game so far:
Andrew Reiner, Game Informer:
“Cyberpunk 2077 is a work of awe-inspiring ambition, dazzling with its massive scale and creative vision. The world of Night City is a metropolis of futuristic art, stealing your eye with stunning neon-lit architecture and streets filled with citizens made of flesh and metal. Night City is an open world that immediately pulls you in and keeps you engaged with its dark narrative, meaningful player choice, and overwhelming amount of side content.”
Score: 9/10
Kallie Plagge, Gamespot:
“It also bears a mention: Cyberpunk 2077 is phenomenally buggy. I played a...

Star Wars: Squadrons is Electronic Arts’ latest attempt at bringing the galaxy far, far away to video games. This time, it’s the publisher’s Motive Studios which is putting players inside the cockpits of some of the most popular starfighters in the saga.
The game is set after Return of the Jedi at a time when what’s left of the Empire is desperately clawing at whatever systems and planets it still controls. Fortunately for the galaxy, the New Republic is fighting back with its fleet of ace pilots. Squadrons specifically focuses on the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron and the Empire’s Titan Squadron, as they battle it out in intense dogfights for galactic supremacy.
While the game isn’t out until tomorrow, reviews for Star Wars: Squadrons are starting to pour in, giving fans a better idea of what awaits them when they jump into the cockpit of their favorite fighter.
