The subject of drug use isn’t a novelty in cinema, having been dealt with as far back as The Man with the Golden Arm in 1955, but Addicted to Her Love distinguishes itself with a harsh, unrelenting realism. Director Elliot Lester makes good use of his talented young cast to tell the bleak story of what happens when directionless youth fights ennui with narcotics. Originally titled Love is the Drug (which is actually a better title for this film) it explores the phenomenon of undisciplined, unsupervised, upper-class youth with too much time and money on their hands, similar to 2002’s Better Luck Tomorrow did, but combines it with the stark reality of drug addiction, like a suburban version of Panic in Needle Park.

So far on these Famous Monsters Convention updates, we’ve discussed a party celebrating Famous Monsters of Filmland’s grand return, a seminar for aspiring filmmakers, several panels featuring celebrity guests as well as a ton of movie screenings. If you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, then feel free to do so here. It will make your mother very happy (while you’re at it, give her a call why don’t you? She’s worried.)
Before I proceed, do me a favor and pretend that the next paragraph is being read to you by the late Don Lafontaine, will you? Thanks.
In a future where oil is scarce and America has been plunged into total chaos, a young man named Wes Keller (played by Jonathon Trent) tries to survive alone in a barren wasteland. Downstream is the first original film from the newly-reanimated Famous Monsters of Filmland and...

Big News: Billy Drago
Gather ‘round for some breaking Famous Monsters Convention news, everyone! Billy Drago will be making an ultra-rare convention appearance at FM Con. Stop by the Digital Film Expo where Drago will be signing autographs and answering any filmmaking questions you may have.
Moviegoers may recognize Drago for his uncanny ability to play a villain, something which he has perfected to almost an art, as can be seen in such films as 2006’s The Hills Have Eyes remake and 1987’s The Untouchables, in which Drago gave an unforgettable performance as the menacing henchman Frank Nitti. As Nitti, Drago played Al Capone’s right-hand man, terrorizing Treasury Department agent Eliot Ness and leaving a trail of corpses and chaos in his wake until he is finally killed by Ness.
With his wife Silvana Gallardo, Drago also co-created a series of videos called The Acting Class, which helps aspiring actors develop their skills.

The first feature film from Famous Monsters of Filmland is Downstream, written and directed by Philip Kim (with co-directors Simone Bartesaghi and Neil Kinsella), and it's having a sneak preview followed by a Q&A in Hollywood, CA on February 24th.
Downstream is one of the first handful of projects to be shot on the Red One camera for a modest budget, and the synopsis is as follows:
Wes Keller (Jonathon Trent) is a young man born to a world where oil has collapsed, the food supply has been wiped out, and cancer rates for women have skyrocketed, depleting the female population. In a barbaric environment where bio-fuel, batteries, bullets, and people are currency and marauders roam free, Wes tries to escape to a mythical world run on cold fusion -- "Plutopia", a place that may only exist in the mind.
The Bill Is Due. Downstream is a view of the not so distant future.

Sometimes what is horrifying is not what happens to people, but what can happen to all of us in the future. Downstream is an an independent production that completed in 2008 and now an official movie poster is available along with the synopsis, which does not portray tomorrow as something to look forward to. In Downstream's future: "the food supply has been wiped out, and cancer rates for women have skyrocketed, depleting the female population." If that is not horrifying enough visit Quiet Earth to see the latest trailer that shows a world rampant in violence where central Wes Keller can only dream of hope and a better tomorrow.
A synopsis for Downstream here:
"Wes Keller is a young man living in a world where oil has collapsed, the food supply has been wiped out, and cancer rates for women have skyrocketed, depleting the female population. In a barbaric environment where bio fuel,...

Was I the only one who was weirded out by Annie's "lolita" lip biting and the "sultry" look she was giving t Jasper right before she took off her shirt and they did the deed? If that's her "sexy" face, she needs to start practicing in front of a mirror.
Anyways….we now have (a few) photos for the upcoming November 17th new episode of 90210, where Kelly and Silver have to deal with the fall-out of their mother's failing health and the surf squad continues to plot to take down Jen. Also, guess who's coming to dinner? Annie's crazy drug dealer boyfriend. Mom and Dad will be so pleased.
A Death In The Zip Code — Although she is conflicted about whether or not she can forgive her mother for all the pain she has caused, Kelly (Jennie Garth) continues to support Silver (Jessica Stroup) as she deals with Jackie’s...

The crap hit the fan for two “Niners” last night, while everyone else finally used some semblance of a brain. Well, except Annie, that is.
Ivy, The Surfer Girl
After hitting the waves, Liam gets in a fender bender with a surfer girl, who blames him for stopping while she was backing out of her parking spot. Liam is livid and the girl is appalled at Liam’s chauvinistic attitude. Each party demands an apology from the other one, but neither is willing to make that transaction. The two clearly leave on bad terms, especially since the girl’s surfer board was damaged in the accident. Liam later shows up to surf team practice and is wowed by a surfer who is killing the waves. The surf team coach introduces the surfer as the latest member of the team… and a girl.
Yep. Meet Ivy Sullivan (guest star Gillian Zinser), Liam’s fender bender enemy.

Who remembers the Halloween episode from the original Beverly Hills, 90210 in the second season, when Donna dressed up as a mermaid and couldn't move, Brenda and Dylan went as Bonnie and Clyde and Kelly went as a slutty witch and got attacked by a creep? I don't know why, but I loved that episode. It had mermaids And important information about date rape. I don't know if the new 90210 Halloween episode will be as awesome, but we've got a synopsis and promo photos for you.
Jennie Garth And Ann Gillespie Guest Star In The Halloween- Themed Episode — It’s Halloween at the Beverly Hills Beach Club and Adrianna (Jessica Lowndes) channels Marilyn Monroe to help her deal with the end of her relationship with Navid (Michael Steger). Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Kelly (Jennie Garth) continue to have differing opinions about caring for Jackie (Ann Gillespie).

Last night’s lesson of the week for the students (and faculty) of West Beverly High was second chances and how they can be quite advantageous, but some of the students didn’t utilize the lesson and threw serendipity out the window, while others grasped the concept even if it could deem ill-fated for their cause.

The second season premiere of 90210 has earned widespread fan and critical approval for one main reason:
It focused entirely on the show's new, fresh, exciting characters. No offense to Donna or Brenda, but any time spent on their storylines last year felt foreign to any of the main plot point.
That said, we're excited about the CW's upcoming shout-out to Beverly Hills, 90210, as Naomi will start her college search on this season's fifth episode. Can you guess where it will take her? That's right: California University!
Once thee, Naomi will try to seduce the dean’s son, played by Jonathan Trent. Pictured below, Trent appeared as Kyle for three episodes of The Oc and as Fassbiner in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Is Jonathan Trent attractive enough to guest star on the show? Sound off about him, and anything else, in our 90210 forum!

Got a scoop request? An anonymous tip you're dying to share? Just want to say hi? You can send any/all of the above to ausielloscoop@ew.com Question: Can you do me a huge favor and give me some Gossip Girl scoop pertaining to Blair-Serena? I'm dying to know if my favorite frenemies will be loving or hating each other this season. —Sally Ausiello: They'll start out loving each other, but by November, the hate is on! What triggers the war? Let's just say Blair doesn't follow the bros before hos belief system (or, in this case, hos before bros). Question: Can you please tell me if there are any good Owen and Cristina scenes in Grey's Anatomy season premiere? I know they won't have sex in the episode, but will the tragedy bring them closer? —Iris Ausiello: They have a really moving handholding scene. Does that count? Question:...

Simone Bartesaghi and Neil Kinsella direct a furious, apocalyptic and darkly satirical action film, written by Philip Kim, and starring Jonathon Trent and Elizabeth Roberts. The film, set somewhere in a nightmare America where both oil and water are in incredibly short supply, is a pretty low-budget affair, but don’t let that put you off, there’s some dynamite ideas going on here.
Downstream begins with a montage of society collapsing; oil and clean water are running out, virtually all women are succumbing to a mysterious new form of cancer which may stem from Gm crops, and the cities are no-go zones, as the populations spread out to the countryside for safety. It’s a clear nod to the opening of the great Soylent Green, with the images flickering faster and faster,...
