Brandie Monae
- Make-Up Department
Brandie Monae is not your standard Makeup Artist (MUA). Her gifted hands, encompasses an artistry other MUAs may not possess, ministry. This passion for makeup began while watching her grandmother and mother powder their noses during her childhood. Soon she began experimenting with looks on her and her little sister, choosing various shades of blush and eye shadows. After perfecting various looks, Brandie Monae's friends began to take notice and would often request her services for special events. With the desire to stay close to cosmetics, she worked as a Mary Kay consultant while pursuing her undergraduate degree at Texas Woman's University (Denton, TX).
Transitioning into the corporate world after graduating with a Bachelors degree in Public Health, Brandie Monae knew something was missing. Even after obtaining an MBA, she still knew she was not cultivating her gift. After working in corporate America for over ten years, and gaining valuable experiences, with lots of prodding, spiritually and mentally, Brandie Monae stepped out on faith and into her calling as a professional MUA, under the tutelage of celebrity MUA and founder of Glamour Rx, Brigette L.Washington, and birthed B.Monae Makeup Artistry!
Brandie Monae has been blessed to have her work featured on various red carpets, world-renowned conference stages, and in global publications. She has also had the opportunity to work for celebrity clients such as April Ryan, Bishop T.D. Jakes and gospel legend Dorinda Clark Cole, to name a few. Not forgetting her humble beginnings, Brandie Monae has graced cosmetic counters including Clinique, Christian Dior, Tom Ford and Becca Cosmetics, where she also served as Business Manager. It was at those counters Brandie Monae used her down time researching and sampling an array of products in an effort to provide her clients an experience, not just a sale. It was also at these counters where Brandie Monae realized providing makeup services to people was more than just about a pretty face, but more about the ministry of purpose.
