The much-awaited return of the ghost detectives on the silver screen is finally available on Netflix, and the fans seem to love it. Based on the DC Comics characters of the same name by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner, the Netflix series is created by Steve Yockey and it follows the story of two ghost detectives who decide not to ascent to their afterlives to stay on Earth and investigate the crimes involving the supernatural. Dead Boy Detectives exists in the same universe as Netflix’s hit DC fantasy drama series The Sandman, and while it is different from The Sandman in its story and visuals, the Dead Boy Detectives seem to be connecting with the fans. So, if you loved the charm and supernatural shenanigans in Dead Boy Detectives here are some similar shows you should check out next.

Based on the Idw comic book by Beau Smith, the Syfy series Wynonna Earp was “a fast-paced, contemporary thriller” that followed Wyatt Earp’s great-granddaughter as “she battles demons and other supernatural beings. Wynonna is a witty and wild modern day gunslinger, using her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice.” The show did well, running for four seasons and 49 episodes from 2016 to 2021. Three years later, it’s set to get a 90 minute follow-up special called Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, which will be released through the Tubi streaming service.
Vanity Fair broke the news of the follow-up special, which has been written by the show’s creator and executive producer, Emily Andras. They were also able to confirm that Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna herself), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dom Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp), and Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) are all reprising their roles, and “other familiar...

The Silencing Movie Review: A Gripping Resurgence & Unraveling Mysteries In The Heart Of Echo Falls!
The Silencing Movie Review Rating:
Star Cast: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Annabelle Wallis, Zahn McClarnon, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Zahn McClarnon, Melanie Scrofano
Director: Robin Pront
Producer: Cybill Lui Eppich
Writer: Micah Ranum
The Silencing Movie Review Out! (Picture Credit: IMDb)
What’s Good: Pront skillfully blends familiar tropes into a satisfying mystery horror-thriller. The film captures the wilderness through Manuel Dacosse’s cinematography, enhanced by Brooke and Will Blair’s ominous score. Coster-Waldau’s portrayal adds depth, creating a foreboding atmosphere.
What’s Bad: While the film touches on social issues, particularly in northern Minnesota, it may come off as somewhat tokenistic. Despite this, the compelling tone and eerie presence of a masked figure in mist-shrouded forests contribute to the film’s overall appeal.
Loo Break: A suitable “Loo break” in the middle of this intense narrative could be after Rayburn rescues Molly from the sanctuary and keeps her safe overnight in an unused spike trap.

This post contains spoilers for "Hegemony," the season 2 finale of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds."
Although it takes place in a vast, exotic galaxy full of high-tech starships, strange aliens, holodecks, and food replicators, "Star Trek" has often functioned best when it's straining against a budget. Not that plain green monochrome skies looked good, or that styrofoam rocks added texture and dimension to the drama, but the franchise's writers tended to find more interesting stories when limited to six starship sets and a handful of dedicated actors. When the show did want to visit an alien world, the studio typically bundled the cast and crew onto vans and drove to a natural preserve just outside of Los Angeles to shoot. Kirk (William Shatner) famously fought the Gorn captain at Vasquez Rocks. The planet from "The Paradise Syndrome" was merely the Franklin Canyon Reservoir. The locations are well-known to SoCal residents.

Set phasers to spoilers: This article discusses events from the season 2 finale of "Strange New Worlds."
If it seems like every generation of "Star Trek" must always contend with their own unique existential threat, that's because they do. For James T. Kirk in "The Original Series," real-world Cold War anxieties manifested themselves through the fearsome Klingon Empire and their numerous skirmishes with Starfleet as the two galactic powers constantly stood on the brink of all-out war. For Jean-Luc Picard in "The Next Generation," the horrifying Borg Collective instantly became the franchise's most iconic villain -- not only as a physical threat, but one that channeled technological fears of the 21st Century by stripping away our very identities through their assimilation tactics. And for Benjamin Sisko in "Deep Space Nine," no greater threat than the Dominion would eventually land on Federation borders, bringing a darker and more paranoia-driven flavor to "Trek...

Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot developments for the Season 2 finale of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” currently streaming on Paramount+.
The second season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” took a large number of big swings: Spock (Ethan Peck) becoming human for a time; an alternate universe James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) romancing La’an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong) in 21st century Toronto; the crossover episode with the animated series “Star Trek: Lower Decks”; and the musical episode featuring a Klingon boy band group.
The Season 2 finale, “Hegemony,” attempts to top them all. The terrifying reptilian aliens from Season 1, the Gorn, return with a vengeance, decimating a brand new human colony that the Gorn believe falls within their territory. That would be trying enough for Capt. Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and the crew of the Enterprise to deal with, but the Gorn also happened to attack the colony while Pike’s girlfriend,...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 finale “Hegemony.”] The good news: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has already been renewed for a third season. The frustrating news: No matter what the wait is for it, it’s going to seem like too long after the Season 2 finale cliffhanger. Along the way, they meet a certain Montgomery Scott (Martin Quinn), Spock (Ethan Peck) and Chapel save each other, Batel is infected, and La’an (Christina Chong), M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun), Ortegas (Melissa Navia), and Sam (Dan Jeannotte), along with others, are taken by the Gorn … and that’s how the finale ends. The season 2 finale of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," called "Hegemony," in attempting to leave the season on a high note, falls back into comforting, familiar territory.
For a series that has largely -- especially during this season -- taken numerous big narrative swings, it's almost disappointing to see it rely on traditional "high stakes" action storytelling for its finale. Why just last week, "Stange New Worlds" was a musical. A few weeks prior, animated characters from "Star Trek: Lower Decks" were sucked into live-action. There was a fun time travel plot, a harrowing tale of war trauma, an old-fashioned farce, and an episode where prejudice was put on trial. The varying tonal textures and classical "Star Trek" stories have kept "Strange New Worlds" one of the best Trek shows in decades.
But for "Hegemony," the showrunners regressed into slick special effects, action, death, and fights against an alien menace.

This Star Trek: Strange New Worlds review contains spoilers.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Episode 10
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 is honestly an astounding achievement. It not only pulled off a musical episode and a live-action crossover with a cartoon, its traditional installments were virtually nothing but straight bangers, rattling off war stories, showstopper courtroom trials, and heartrending journeys through time that rank up there with the best the Star Trek franchise has ever offered. We are so lucky to have this show, and it has generally exceeded every expectation I could have ever set for it.
So when I call the season 2 finale “Hegemony” a generally fine conclusion to this run of episodes, I mean it in the most expansive sense of the word. A “fine” Strange New Worlds episode is still pretty outstanding television, and as a season-ender, “Hegemony” is certainly an action-packed adventure, one that...

This post contains major spoilers for the season 2 finale of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds."
As I watched the season 2 finale of "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," titled "Hegemony," it took until the closing five minutes for me to ask: "How are they going to resolve this?" The Enterprise is locked in combat with a fleet of Gorn ships. Those reptilian predators have abducted key members of the crew. Captain Batel (Melanie Scrofano) is on borrowed time before a Gorn chestburster kills her while Captain Pike (Anson Mount) can't decide whether to push on and save his people or obey Starfleet and retreat.
Half a minute before the credits rolled, the answer hit me — the resolution isn't coming, at least not yet. Sure enough, the episode ends with a title card "To Be Continued..." Those are words once synonymous with TV, but streaming has put them out of fashion.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Episode 4 “Among the Lotus Eaters.”] The trouble the Enterprise runs into in the latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds means seeing different sides of some of its crew. Just as Pike (Anson Mount) worries his and Batel’s (Melanie Scrofano) relationship is hurting her career (after she doesn’t get a promotion) and suggests they take a step back, he must return to the site of a previous mission during which he lost three members of his crew. Joining him are La’an (Christina Chong) and Dr. M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) — though the captain doesn’t need the latter for healing, rather as someone who can handle himself against warriors. “It was fun,” Olusanmokun tells TV Insider of exploring that side of his character. “It was something he didn’t want to go back to, but he was called upon and so...

We’ve been bingeing Star Trek: Deep Space Nine in my house lately. In addition to the underrated spinoff’s individual merits, it’s striking to be reminded of the differences between the era where every successful show made 20-plus episodes a year, and this current one, where 10 episodes per season is the most given to almost everybody, including modern-day Trek shows like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Even after all the years since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" premiered in 1997 — even with the recent controversy surrounding creator Joss Whedon — even as dated as some of the content and jokes are, the show endures as the forebearer to so many TV and film heroines. Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano), and Bo (Anna Silk) from "Lost Girl" all owe quite a bit to Buffy Summers.
Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) herself was influenced by a comic book character — Kitty Pryde of X-Men fame. Whedon called her "a huge proto-Buffy" in a 2005 interview with Time and "the mother of Buffy" in a Wired article from 2012. If any other Buffy fans want to take a moment to pour one out for Joyce Summers (Kristine Sutherland) — Buffy's actual mother — who died unceremoniously in the powerful episode "The Body," please do. I still have to skip that one during my rewatches of the series.

Pitter-patter, let's get at 'er, because the Canadian comedy series "Letterkenny" is back for its 11th season. What started out as a YouTube web series called "Letterkenny Problems" has since grown into one of the funniest and most popular shows on TV, following the residents of Letterkenny, a fictional rural town in Ontario based on show creator Jared Keeso's hometown.
The residents of the small community fall under three major groups: the Hicks, the Skids, and the Hockey Players, but all three are ready for a brew, a brawl, or a beaut at any given opportunity. Whether it's chorin', sharing a Puppers with your best bud, or trading fisticuffs, the residents of "Letterkenny" do it faster, tougher, and with snappier wit than anyone else on the planet. With the return of the show just around the corner, here's everything you big shoots need to know to prepare, and more.

For four seasons, fans watched Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, and Kat Barrell in the Syfy series Wynonna Earp — and it wasn’t nearly enough. So, when TV Insider spoke with Barrell about her latest Hallmark movie, A Tale of Two Christmases, we couldn’t help bringing up seeing the four together again. After all, Barrell, Scrofano, and Rozon have all starred in Hallmark movies, so what about seeing everyone together in one of those? “I love all those guys so much. It’s such a fun thing to think about putting us all in a completely different world than Wynonna,” Barrell shared. And if she could dream cast that movie? “I’m all for more queer storytelling. I would love to put Dom in a non-binary role on Hallmark. I think that would be absolutely incredible. I would love to tell a queer Christmas love story. I think...

Emma (Emily Hampshire) and Josh’s (Jonas Chernick) first kiss was at a summer camp as teenagers and, minus a few break-ups here and there, they’ve been together ever since. They’re best friends, awesome parents, and, because of their two daughters being their focus for every waking second of every single day, mutually apathetic to the concept of sex. So, now that it’s the girls’ time to start going to that same camp, Emma and Josh have no clue what to do with their independence. And maybe they should read into the fact that suggesting sex (with the door open and as loud as they want) came after “go to a matinee.” They should read even harder upon discovering they’ve all but forgotten how to do it.

Melanie Scrofano, Emily Hampshire and Jonas Chernick in The End Of Sex
A comedy about a couple who face a crisis when their kids go away to winter camp and they realise that a planned week of sexual passion just isn’t working out, The End Of Sex is the latest project for director Sean Garrity and writer Jonas Chernick, who also plays the role of hapless hero Josh. It screened as part of the Toronto International Film Festival and Jonas kindly managed to find the time for a chat just beforehand. We had last spoken in February, when his film Ashgrove screened at the Glasgow Film Festival, about a month after shooting on The End Of Sex wrapped. I congratulate him on the speed with which this film has made it to a major festival.
“Yeah. It all happened pretty quick,” he says. “I am very excited about it.

The following contains spoilers for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Episode 10
The season 1 finale of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a love letter to the series that started it all, an at times shot-for-shot and line-by-line remake of the Star Trek: The Original Series episode “Balance of Terror,” which originally introduced the Romulans to the franchise. The hour gives us a glimpse at a potential alternate future in which Pike is not disfigured or paralyzed and retains command of the Enterprise, but it’s one that comes at a terrible cost.
The idea that Pike would finally try to change the future not to save himself but to save one of the cadets that die in the accident that disfigures him is so completely, perfectly on-brand for the man we’ve gotten to know over the past 10 episodes. We’ve seen him arguing repeatedly...

Melanie Scrofano officially joins the Hallmark family with the February 26 film Welcome to Mama’s, and we know her character is going to get a happily ever after on there. But what was a surprise for the star was the exit her Wynonna Earp character got when the series ended its four-year run on Syfy in April 2021. Just as Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) was leaving town, Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley), just after marrying Nicole (Katherine Barrell), convinced her sister Wynonna to go after him. And Wynonna did just that, stopping him at the town line (and shooting out the tire on his car) before the two rode off into the sunset on her motorcycle (and presumably reunited with their daughter). “I don’t think I would’ve ever pictured a happy ending,” Scrofano admits to TV Insider while promoting her Hallmark movie. “But I think we were in a place in the...

Fans of cutting-edge science-fiction hybrid shows just can't seem to catch a break. On the heels of delays for the fourth season, it was announced back in February of 2021 that "Wynonna Earp," the supernatural Western series about legendary lawman Wyatt Earp's great-great-granddaughter, would be shutting its doors for good following the end of that season.
Based on the Idw comic book miniseries from Beau Smith, "Wynonna Earp" (whose titular character is played by Melanie Scrofano) quickly developed a rabid and vocal fanbase known as "Earpers" composed largely of women and members of the Lgbtqia+ community. Well, that was fun!
It didn't take very long for Wynonna and Doc to reunite at all, did it?
SurrealEstate Season 1 Episode 3 was all-around better than SurrealEstate Season 1 Episode 2.
Despite the reunion and being much better than the previous outing, we still had to contend with Susan, and her lack of growth is concerning.
Her plot is wafer-thin.
I was under the impression that she was getting on better with her coworkers and understanding the lay of the land after taking everyone for granted and plowing forward without thinking.
It was clear from the onset that William Larson, a horror writer (Hello!), wanted a haunted house as inspiration.
He was a returning client who they'd successfully helped before, but instead of allowing Zooey to help when she offered it, Susan sashayed past her as if she knew it all.
She didn't listen to Zooey and misread the client's needs twice.

If you're looking for a new supernatural series to sink your teeth into, Syfy's got one for you.
Tim Rozon stars as Luke Roman, a specialized real estate agent on SurrealEstate.
The series will also reunite him with his on-screen Schitt's Creek girlfriend, Sarah Levy, which is sure to get some attention from those loyal fans.
As if that wasn't enough, Wynonna Earp fans will also get a treat as the series progresses with Rozon's costar, Melanie Scrofano drops by for a limited engagement.
So, what's it all about?
Getting your house ready for sale is hard enough.
Trying to do it when you have uninvited guests makes it even harder. It's downright impossible when those guests range from undead to demonic.
Enter Roman Real Estate Agency. Specializing in freeing spirits and ensuring homes sell well above market value, they're one of a kind.

Emotions ran high in the possible series finale of Wynonna Earp.
Wynonna Earp Season 4 Episode 12 sees something we Earpers have waited years for -- Waverly and Nicole's wedding.
That's right, Wayhaught shippers, the wedding finally happened, and the tears could not have flowed heavier.
The flashback at the beginning of the episode implied that not everything was going to be perfect. That happened to be correct. The way they added in one last mystery, one last Earp case, was excellent.
Waverly's (first) wedding dress was gorgeous but haunted. Two separate teams were working on the case, which offered such exciting parallels. Waverly and Nicole worked on the dress's historical impact, while Doc and Wynonna try to break the curse.
Doc: Where did you buy your wedding gown? Jeremy and I are looking to procure matching cummerbunds.
Waverly: Aw! I got it at this adorably quaint little boutique down on Hogback Road.

Spoiler Alert: This post includes details about the series finale of Syfy’s Wynonna Earp.
It all came full circle for the Earp sisters in the series finale of Syfy’s Wynonna Earp. The supernatural series from creator, executive producer and writer Emily Andras, went out with a bang as Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano), Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and the rest of the gang gathered for one last family gathering at the homestead.
The final episode “Old Souls,” written by Andras, finally brought Waverly and Nicole Haught’s (Katherine Barrell) long-awaited wedding to center stage. As the soon-to-be newlyweds (a.k.a. WayHaught) prepared the Earp homestead for an intimate ceremony, Wynonna tries on her sister’s wedding dress for cheap thrills. The fun comes to an end when she realizes the wedding gown is impossible to remove, even when a non-Vampire Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) attempts to cut it off her body.
