Updated with Daytime Creative Arts Emmy winners: General Hospital won outstanding drama while Kelly Clarkson won for best talk show host and best talk show at the 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, held Friday in Los Angeles.
Adding in Saturday’s Creative Arts portion of the Daytime Emmys, Gh won a leading seven Emmys this weekend. The Kelly Clarkson Show won six to lead all talk shows.

A posthumous Emmy was given to Sonya Eddy, the General Hospital actress who died last summer at the age of 55.

“General Hospital” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show” were the big winners at the 50th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, which were handed out on Friday night in Los Angeles. Veteran daytime-drama actress Susan Lucci, once famous for being nominated for a Daytime Emmy 19 times before she finally won, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
“General Hospital” was named Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, and also won awards for its directing and for actors Sonya Eddy (who received her award posthumously), Robert Gossett, Eden McCoy and former “Wonder Years” star Alley Mills.

General Hospital will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a primetime special, “General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling” on January 4.
The special will feature cast members from throughout the years as they pull back the curtain on six decades in Port Charles, including behind-the-scenes moments, bloopers and a special fan tribute.
Gh cast members Maurice Benard, Jane Elliot, Genie Francis, Finola Hughes, Kelly Monaco and Laura Wright will participate, as will Gh star Emma Samms, former sudser star Rick Springfield, and actress Amber Tamblyn, among other celebrity guests like DWTS‘ Val Chermkovskiy and ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith.

The Young and the Restless tallied 23 nominations as honors were announced this morning for the 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Restless’ impressive take helped CBS lead all networks with 50 overall nominations. PBS and ABC followed, with 44 and 38 nods, respectively.
General Hospital, which earned 19 nominations, joined Restless in the race for Outstanding Drama Series, and Sesame Street received 17 nods, including three for Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo who faces allegations of sexual misconduct.
Good Morning America and Today will bring their ratings rivalry to the Emmys, where they’ll be joined by CBS Sunday Morning in the Outstanding Morning Program category.
