This small-town crime movie has a dash of imagination in its plot but Willis’s flagrant inertia makes it one for the diehards
‘This is Georgia,” drawls a character near the start of this tiresome, oddly dull action thriller. “Everyone’s doing something they’re not supposed to be doing.” But the problem with Bruce Willis in the movie is that he’s not doing something that he is supposed to be doing: acting. He puts in a such a wooden performance playing a washed-up, burnt-out cop that I could have screamed in frustration.
American Siege is set 10 years after the mysterious disappearance in a backwater town of teenager Brigit Baker (played in flashback by Sarah May Sommers). Brigit’s boyfriend Roy (Rob Gough) has spent the past decade in prison; now he wants the truth. Armed to the teeth, he storms the house of a local pharmacist, accompanied by...

"I'm the Sheriff of this county." "Don't forget who put you there." Vertical Entertainment has released the official trailer for American Siege, another of these junk Bruce Willis action movies he has been making non-stop for the last few years. This is from the same director as Broil and Cosmic Sin and Apex - all films which I hope none of you have paid to see. Here's the recycled plot for American Siege: An ex-nypd officer-turned-sheriff of a small rural Georgia town has to contend with a gang of thieves who have taken a wealthy doctor hostage. Bruce Willis co-stars with Timothy V. Murphy, plus Rob Gough, Anna Hindman, Johann Urb, Cullen G. Chambers, and Trevor Gretzky. This looks excruciatingly bad... And the only reason we keep featuring these Willis trailers is just to gawk at how awful they are + laugh at this absurdity. Here's the official trailer (+ poster...

Update: It turns out that this was just an April Fools joke and the photo is not real.
Love them or hate them, Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil movies exist. Though I admittedly dug the first and fourth installments, as a fan of the games, I didn’t care for the live action film franchise by and large. The CGI flicks produced by Capcom, however, are the cat’s pajamas in my book.
As you may have heard, Netflix is supposed to take a stab at the beloved survival horror series in the very near future – and, thankfully, they’re said to be ignoring the movies. Call me crazy, but I’d hoped to see the original game faithfully adapted in serialized form, though it appears that’s not what’s coming together.
Thanks to Comic Book Movie, a photo has leaked from the set, and it shows Leon Kennedy...

Even if a TV series is to be headlined by a character you personally champion, it’s imperative that it maintain quality for the long haul if viewers are to be kept aboard. In the case of Arrow, its fifth season proved to be one of the show’s strongest outings, so I was quite pleased to see the sixth continued with that momentum.
What was especially interesting about this past year was that the whole team dynamic was taken to a new level – yet sight was never lost on the titular character, that being the Emerald Archer himself. Believe me, Oliver Queen was really taken to the limit this time around, as Ricardo Diaz proved to be quite the formidable foe.
So, if you’ve been following along and are willing to relive the journey – or you play the waiting game and do the binge-watch thing – know that Arrow:...

Now that 2018 is officially underway and we have the holidays behind us, it’s about time that we get back to the TV shows that we love. To be more specific, folks like me can’t wait to resume the current season of what DC has to offer and, fortunately, that’ll arrive next week with a slew of midseason premieres, culminating with the returning episode of Arrow.
So, after spoiling us with a fresh batch of images culled from the appropriately titled “Divided,” the network is willing to let loose yet another goodie in the form of an extended trailer. Being considerably meatier than any other promo video we’ve seen since the winter hiatus began, we get more hints as to how fractured Team Arrow truly is, with the originals – Oliver Queen, John Diggle and Felicity Smoak – going about their own way, and the rest – Wild Dog, Black...

Arrow‘s midseason finale saw Team Arrow at their lowest point, as half the crime-fighting group walked away from the Arrowcave due to a fallout with Oliver Queen. It turned out, though, that this was all part of a fiendish scheme from Cayden James, who’s formed a Legion of Doom-style villain team-up with the likes of Black Siren, Vigilante, Ricardo Diaz and Anatoly Knyazev.
When Arrow returns for its midseason premiere, titled “Divided,” next month, Green Arrow’s conflict with Cayden James’ criminal cabal will intensify. Now that the synopsis for the episode has been revealed, we know that Oliver will find out a “shocking truth” about the Helix hacker that will lead him to unite with an “unlikely ally.”

Resident Evil, the most successful videogame to film adaptation of all time, is coming to a close with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
Of course, the six Resident Evil films are “loosely” based on the video games, but how much do the two actually cross over? Some of the bigger details are the same; both are set in and around Racoon City and both the films and video games are facing the T-Virus-inflicted zombie apocalypse (which the Umbrella Corportation is responsible for). However, it’s the characters that both separate and unite the film and video game worlds. The films follow the story of Alice (Milla Jovovich) who sets out on a mission to find her identity and wipe out the T-Virus. As she journeys through...

Production on the greenlit Resident Evil 6 hit a snag last year when Paul W.S. Anderson (who has scripted all five previous Resident Evil entries and directed three of them) became caught up in post-production on his historical epic Pompeii. As such, cameras didn’t get rolling last fall, which had been the director’s plan, and the film is not expected to land this September. However, Anderson is still very invested in getting Resident Evil 6, which many have speculated will be the franchise’s final outing, off the ground.
Speaking at the Beijing International Film Festival, the director dropped some interesting tidbits about the project. Most notably, Li Bingbing will definitely be reprising her role as Ada Wong for the movie. Bingbing and series star Milla Jovovich are the only actors who have been confirmed for Resident Evil 6 thus far. However, due to the cliffhanger ending of Resident Evil: Retribution,...

In reviewing romantic comedies, one of the best descriptions of a movie is to call it as “cute.” It basically means that the movie is definitely not great, but one is trying really, really hard not to classify it as abysmal.
And with many people, the word “cute” is probably the best description for “Dorfman in Love.”
“Dorfman in Love” follows a young woman named Deb Dorfman (played by Sara Rue), who has a crush on a handsome international news reporter Jay (played by Johann Urb). Jay gets an assignment to cover events in Afghanistan and Deb volunteers to babysit his cat and house sit his loft in Downtown Los Angeles.
As a girl from San Fernando Valley, she must adjust to the hustling fast lifestyle of Downtown Los Angeles with bars, night clubs and life in studio apartments. She eventually befriends a neighbor named Cookie (played by Haaz Slieman), who loves the promiscuous lifestyle.

Title: Dorfman in Love Director: Bradley Leong Starring: Sara Rue, Elliott Gould, Jonathan Chase, Johann Urb, Haaz Sleiman, Keri Lynn Pratt, Sophie Monk, Hayley Marie Norman, Kelen Coleman, Scott Wilson Saddled with a terrible, clunky title and a programmatic narrative that represents a fairly unpersuasive blend of the familiar and contrived, Los Angeles-set indie romantic comedy “Dorfman in Love” connects most fitfully as a vehicle for the charms of star Sara Rue. Penned by Wendy Kout and directed by Bradley Leong, the big-hearted movie is a sort of “Bridget Jones’s Diary” by way of “(500) Days of Summer,” though without the apexes of cleverness and flair found in those films. It was previously mentioned that Paul W.S. Anderson had plans for a sixth Resident Evil movie, and it looks like Sony is now ready to move forward on it. According to Styd, Sony plans to release a new Resident Evil movie on September 1th, 2014. There are no official details on the new movie at this time, but things should start to come together quickly if they are interested in putting the movie into theaters 18 months from now.
This movie franchise revolves around Milla Jovovich as Alice, so we can’t imagine her not returning. Paul W.S. Anderson will likely be involved in the creative process once again, but there’s no word on if he’ll be directing this time around. The last two movies have been filmed in 3D, so that should be another given as well. Hopefully, Sony will be ready to release more details at Comic-Con this July,...

Resident Evil Retribution
Stars: Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Michelle Rodriguez, Bingbing Li, Boris Kodjoe, Johann Urb, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon | Written and Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson
Back for a fifth installment (who knew the series would last his long?), Resident Evil Retribution continues the story of Alice and her battle against the Umbrella Corporation.
Now I’ll admit, the Resident Evil franchise lost me after the second film so revisiting the series for the fifth film may not have been such a good idea… But the opening sequence got me up to speed pretty quickly with a re-cap of everything that had come before – including a seemingly out of place rehash of the original film, a rehash which would however foretell the return of the Red Queen!
This time round Alice is captured by the Umbrella Corporation after a huge battle at sea. She awakens in...

Friday's CSI: NY is a bit of a numbers game.
The episode's numerical title, "Nine Thirteen," takes on several meanings. First, it is the ninth season's 13th episode. (A man who seemingly leaps to his death is discovered to be mimicking a previous suicide at the same address during the 1920s.)

Resident Evil: Retribution brings us to the fifth entry in a series that ran out of steam a long time ago. Once again, despite there being no demand for yet another sequel, we are faced with one, and as you can probably expect, it’s filled with the same problems that writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson has refused to address for the last several years now. Sometimes consistency can be a good thing, but in this case, it’s only continuing to weigh this series down.
Picking up right where Resident Evil: Afterlife left off, we find Alice (Milla Jovovich) once again captured by the evil Umbrella Corporation. With the help of Ada Wong (Bingbing Li), Alice is freed from her confinement. However, there is still the task of escaping the installation, which is actually a testing area for biological weapons, featuring multiple environments such as New York City, Moscow,...

New Resident Evil 5,Retribution movie delivered great action, thrills & more. Screen Gems (Sony) released their new action flick "Resident Evil 5: Retribution" into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was very entertaining. Milla rocked the tight body suit like nobody's business, and served up even more awesome fighting action. It stars: Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Kevin Durand, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, and Li Bingbing. The new flick kicked off where the 4th installment left off. Alice (Milla Jovovich) and the gang are seen fighting on a boat. Alice's former ally Jill Valentine is being mind controlled by a red scarab attached to her throat, and she's leading the attack. Finally, Alice shoots down one of the planes which crashes, and knocks her unconscious into the water. After that, it kicks to a different scene, which appears to have Alice in a completely different,...

Recently, this new Resident Evil 5: Retribution movie clip/featurette (below), hit the net,and serves up a cool 6 minutes of main star Milla Jovovich, talking about the film, along with more footage from the film. In the new clip, they showed more awesome footage of Milla's character Alice in heavy action. Then they showed interview footage of Milla talking about the film, and she mentioned that she was finally glad to get out of that skin-tight suit she had to wear. However,it did look great on her. She definitely didn't like the suburban Alice that is featured at the beginning of the movie, because she prefers being the more fierce warrior Alice. I definitely agree with that statement. She went on to talk more about the film, and it showed more interesting clips. Check it out,...

Just as the series starts to get smart, it fumbles and gets clumsy, like a zombie.
With the exception of the films of George Romero, the zombie genre has never been my thing. I’m sure, the recent success of the television series The Walking Dead has plenty to do with its strong cast and dramatic stories (so I’m told), but when zombies are involved, my interest goes out the window. The same can be said for the theatrical adaptation of the Resident Evil video game series. Until the third film in this wildly successful franchise, I kinda hated these movies. I use the word “kinda” because when the mesmerizing Milla Jovovich is involved, I tend to stop dead in my tracks. Despite being the star of a popcorn action franchise, Jovovich is actually a pretty decent actress who along with husband and writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson have...
