Exclusive: Sky Studios is looking to “turbocharge” its ambitions in the U.S. and has handed expanded roles to Jupiter execs Stephen Land and Patrick Reardon to help it do so.
Land, Founder and CEO of Snapped producer Jupiter Entertainment, and President Patrick Reardon, who joined the company from Roc Nation in 2019, will now oversee all of Sky’s fully-owned U.S. production businesses, including LA-based Catalina Content and Tennessee-based The Hive.

A real-life fugitive has been captured by authorities thanks to a tip from a viewer of Investigation Discovery’s “In Pursuit With John Walsh,” the network said Wednesday.
William Stanson, who was featured in the Jan. 29 episode of the shows, was extradited to the U.S. on Wednesday after a phone tip from a viewer of the show made authorities aware of his location in Mexico. Stanson now faces charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and failure to appear in addition to first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Oxygen announced the expansion of its true crime programming Monday, including 10 new shows and the United States premiere of “Serial Killer With Piers Morgan.”
“Serial Killer With Piers Morgan” will explore the minds of three of America’s “most depraved” serial killers through on-camera interviews with Morgan. Morgan will executive produce with John Ferriter, Will Daws and Stuart Cabb. The show is produced by Plum Pictures and Ferret Productions.

The Weinstein Company, publisher American Media and Jupiter Entertainment have banded together for a content creation and distribution company that will target television, film and digital mediums. The programming venture will be lead by TWC’s TV head Patrick Reardon, Jupiter CEO Stephen Land and American Media’s Chief Content Officer Dylan Howard. “There is an enormous, untapped opportunity at Ami to develop unique and engaging programming,” TWC Co-Chairman Harvey Weinstein said in a statement. Leading Euro pay TV operator Sky has acquired a 60% stake in U.S. production company Jupiter Entertainment. Founded in 1996 by Stephen Land, Jupiter Entertainment specialises in non-scripted programmes. A&E Network is getting into some reality TV steer wrestling and saddle-bronc riding. The network said today it has ordered a series from The Weinstein Company about female rodeo competitors. The series, which has the working title Rodeo Girls, was described last year at Mipcom as “Ice Road Truckers meets Housewives.” A&E has put in an eight-episode order. “We are thrilled to be working with The Weinstein Company on Rodeo Girls. The women of the competitive barrel racing world are formidable athletes living sensational lives and we are excited for our viewers to go along for the wild ride,” said David McKillop, Evp Programming at A&E Network and Bio Channel, in a statement Friday. Greetings, Zoners. It’s hard to believe that our fun here is drawing to a close, but the Rapture waits for no one. It’s time for me to wrap up my tenure as a Completist, then pack for the Rapture. (We can take stuff with us, right? Because I’m totally taking my Flatpoint High t-shirt and my Colbert Report “C” hat.) I’ve had an amazing time here, both as a Zoner and a Completist, and while I’m sad it’s ending, I’ll be leaving with some fantastic memories.
