Spoiler Alert! This story contains plot points from Monday’s episode of NCIS.
NCIS on Monday paid its final respects to star David McCallum, who died September 25 at the age of 90.
A fan favorite, McCallum was the last remaining original cast member on NCIS, in which he played an eccentric but highly efficient investigator Donald “Ducky” Mallard for two decades.
As heavily teased in the promos, the episode dubbed “The Stories We Leave Behind” opened with Jimmy Palmer arriving at Ducky’s house to find his mentor — dressed in his monogrammed jammies — dead in his bed, with his sweet corgi looking forlorn in the foyer.

NCIS isn’t going anywhere. More than 450 episodes into its run, the CBS drama about naval criminal investigators hasn’t lost any steam – or the support of the network. The show, which had its 21st season premiere on Feb. 12, isn’t “slowing down anytime soon,” a CBS executive recently promised.
‘NCIS’ is still going strong after 20 seasons (L-r): Brian Dietzen as Jimmy Palmer, Katrina Law as NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight, Wilmer Valderrama as Nick Torres, Diona Reasonover as Forensic Scientist Kasie Hines, and Gary Cole as FBI Special Agent Alden Parker in ‘NCIS’ Season 21 Episode 2 | Michael Yarish/CBS ©2023 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. For any show to last 20 seasons is an impressive feat, especially in today’s competitive TV environment. But NCIS has managed to pull it off. The Jag spinoff, which premiered in September 2003 is now one of the longest-running scripted primetime shows in TV history.

As previously reported, CBS announced that Bob Hearts Abishola will be coming to an end with its upcoming fifth season, set to premiere on Monday, February 12 at 8:30/7:30c. The Season 4 finale of Bob Hearts Abishola teased drastic changes to the show’s formula setting the stage for Abishola (Folake Olowofoyeku) and Bob (Billy Gardell) to head to Baltimore, leaving their friends (and much of the cast) back in Detroit. In the final Season 4 episode, “Uncharted Waters of Mediocrity,” Abishola anxiously awaited her acceptance letter to the Baltimore medical school Johns Hopkins. Doubt set in as she spiraled into depression upon realizing she hadn’t received it. Meanwhile, Bob battled his subconscious, portrayed as his father, realizing he didn’t want to leave Detroit. Criminal Minds as most fans knew it reached its conclusion on February 19, 2020. It ended its run with 10 episodes, which had been one of the least number of episodes the show aired since its inception. Ironically, the popular police procedural would end after Covid-19 became a massive threat to the world.
