- Went to Penfield High School and Penn State University with Rick Lyon who originated the roles of Trekkie Monster, Nicky, the blue Bad Idea Bear, and other characters as well as designing and creating the puppets for the Tony-Award winning musical "Avenue Q" after 15 seasons of puppeteering on "Sesame Street".
- Grew up down the street from original Monkees drummer Peter Torkelson with whom he later performed on "It's Rock'n'Roll" along with Peter Noone and Chubby Checker as a member of the a capella doo-wop group The Dream.
- Opened for and performed with ASCAP & NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award-winner Tom Paxton and "Dueling Banjos" recording artist Eric Weissberg at the Westport Arts Center.
- Studied violin starting at five years old as one of Shinichi Suzuki's original "Project Super" students at the Eastman School of Music.
- Performed with legendary folk singer-songwriter and ASCAP Lifetime Achievement Award-winner Dave Van Ronk at Wintertide in Martha's Vineyard.
