Lawyers for Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, are calling out Fox News Channel and Fox News Digital for an alleged “conspiracy and subsequent actions to defame [Hunter] and paint him in a false light.”
The news conglomerate’s actions in question involve “the unlicensed commercial exploitation of [Hunter Biden’s] image, name, and likeness, and the unlawful publication of hacked intimate images of him,” according to NBC News, which obtained a copy of the April 23 letter sent by Biden’s legal team.

Disdain for Larry David Geraldo Rivera made headlines following his candid post on X, formerly Twitter, expressing his dissatisfaction with Larry David and his portrayal in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. Rivera stated, I’m not a fan, because Larry truly is the self-righteous, snobby, self-loathing, narcissistic ass he portrays. This comment has sparked conversations about the interplay between an actor’s real persona and their on-screen character. The Petty Feud Over Politics It appears politics play a central role in this distaste. Rivera’s disdain for David became apparent during an outdoor gathering at Alan Dershowitz’s birthday in Martha’s Vineyard where Larry David conspicuously

Will Ronna McDaniel land another TV gig? There is already interest in the former Republican National Committee chair brewing from a couple of cable news outlets.
Sources at both Newsmax and NewsNation tell The Hollywood Reporter that they would be interested in pursuing a deal with McDaniel, should she ultimately finalize a separation agreement with NBC News.
McDaniel has been seeking a lawyer to negotiate an exit from NBC, which announced her hire as an NBC News contributor last Friday and reversed course just a few days later after facing backlash from MSNBC stars like Rachel Maddow and the Morning Joe team, not to mention an on-air rebuke from Chuck Todd on Meet the Press just minutes after McDaniel’s debut appearance.
McDaniel is likely to receive a hefty payout from NBC, given her two-year, $300,000 per year deal, though sometimes negotiations result in a lower payout in exchange for a shorter noncompete.

“Cheech and I were on the Paramount lot after we’d done the movie, and we’re kind of trying to figure out what we were going to do next— how we were going to get another movie going,” remembers Tommy Chong of the weeks following the 1978 release of Up in Smoke, the first film from him and comedy partner Cheech Marin. “And Warren Beatty, pulls up in his convertible. He took off his sunglasses and looked at us and he goes, ‘You guys have no idea what you’ve done.’ And we looked at each other like thinking, ‘Oh, what did we do?’ What we did was we pulled a movie out of thin air.”
Up in Smoke, which was made independently by principals with no filmmaking experience, grossed over $100 million at the box office, simultaneously launching and proving the commercial value of the genre, all in one go.

The suspense this Super Tuesday may be in watching how all of the networks try to make the night suspenseful.
Some 16 states and one territory will vote: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia. A Democratic caucus also is being held in American Samoa, and Iowa Democrats also will reveal their results.
But with Joe Biden and Donald Trump on their way to a rematch in the 2024 presidential election, coverage Tuesday will focus on margins of victory, when each candidate will clinch their nomination and what’s next from now until Election Day. There also will be attention to down-ballot races, including California’s Senate primary to fill the seat long held by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-ca).

Jon Rosen, a longtime WME agent and executive who has represented some of TV’s best known news anchors and celebrity chefs, is leaving the Endeavor-owned agency to launch his own management firm, according to three people familiar with the matter.
Rosen, who represents NBC News’ Stephanie Ruhle, Willie Geist and Hallie Jackson as well as CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, is set to manage many of his current clients, according to one of these people, and they are expected to retain WME as an agency. A WME spokesperson did not respond immediately to a query seeking comment and Rosen could not be reached immediately for comment via a call Wednesday.
His exit comes as WME parent Endeavor has come under new scrutiny on Wall Street. The company, which recently helped create the combat-sports company Tko, suggested in October that it might consider going private.

Update: This was the last debate of 2023 and, with polling showing Donald Trump still holds a commanding lead, it doesn’t appear that he has paid any price for bypassing these events.
He’s dismissed the debates as irrelevant, but save for a few mentions from Chris Christie and Ron DeSantis, none of his rivals have really gone full throttle in attacking him for skipping the events. Trump was the topic of discussion at points on Wednesday night, but those moments were largely overshadowed by the candidates attacking each other.
When moderators asked about the former president’s statement that he would be a dictator on day one of a second term, Christie attacked Trump, but Vivek Ramaswamy seemed to want to out-Trump Trump. Rather than attacking the former president, Ramaswamy labeled Nikki Haley a “fascist” for saying that she wanted verification of social media accounts.

Nicole Newnham’s The Disappearance of Shere Hite is so packed with ideas, timelines, and input from various participants that a documentary twice as long would have been justified. Such is the significance of Shere Hite’s life and writings in the 1970s and ’80s on the subject of sex, particularly women’s bodies and how they typically achieve orgasm.
Hite’s 1976 book The Hite Report has become an all-time bestseller, in large part due to the controversy it sparked following its publication. While the film’s title initially suggests a mystery, Newnham’s remarkable use of archival footage, especially of Hite being ceaselessly berated on talk shows, composes such a clear and coherent portrait of her eventual exile from American culture that the film becomes a furious indictment of an openly repressive society.
While Newnham takes a mostly linear approach to explaining the trajectory of Hite’s research and fame,...

The only thing more extra than a surprise birthday party might be a surprise birthday party live on cable TV – and that’s what Chris Cuomo got to celebrate his 53rd.
“Cuomo” was setting up to take viewer phone calls on Wednesday night when producer Alexandra “Dusty” Cohen stopped the host cold:
“You’ve got to listen to me – this is important. It’s your birthday, and we’re not taking calls. You’re just gonna listen to me and be quiet,” she said, basically asking the impossible of the talkative NewsNation anchor. “We put something together for you because we love you. I love you. A lot of people love you. … Be quiet and take a look.”
The first face onscreen belonged to Bill O’Reilly, Cuomo’s longtime friend – and one of the former CNN anchor’s many close media pals with whom he doesn’t share political views.

Greg Gutfeld got two stinging personal insults for the price of one joke, taking swipes at former “The Five” co-host and rumored Fox nemesis Geraldo Rivera and the striking Hollywood writers in the same breath of his “Gutfeld!” monologue.
Monday night’s show opened with a culture-wars wag at Cinnabon, where employees at a Los Angeles store are reportedly striking for the right to wear pride pins and other LGBTQ messaging at work. Gutfeld used the strike theme to get his digs into an aside:
“Did you think I was talking about the writers’ strike?” he said. “Do you people even care?”
A soft jeer indicated that the Fox News studio audience does not, in fact, care about Hollywood writers and actors seeking new compensation structures with studios in a historic and painful double work stoppage. And with the audience on his side, Gutfeld began firing shots:

Geraldo Rivera says it’s time to make “special prosecutor” a job title of the past in a sweeping legal and political movement that can only be described as “The Geraldo Reform.”
Rivera was on his old pal Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation show on Thursday night, with host and guest commiserating over the super-boom of federal and congressional political investigations.
“I think that one thing you can do right now – here is The Geraldo Reform,” Rivera said. “No more special prosecutors! There’s never been a special prosecutor that did not become ultimately self-serving.”
The first special prosecutor was appointed in 1875 by Ulysses Grant — and that didn’t end well, with the president and former Civil War general firing him – but the tradition of hiring “independent” counsel to investigate shenanigans has prevailed across administrations. Rivera suggested that the broadening infrastructure of employees for modern investigative teams will naturally look for ways to justify their existence.

Greg Gutfeld is no stranger to swimming himself into hot water, and he didn’t shy away from some noxious takes about the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA double strike against the AMPTP on Friday night’s “Gutfeld!”

Update, Friday: Geraldo Rivera continued his criticisms of former colleagues at Fox News and at the network itself in an appearance later on Thursday on Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation show.

Greg Gutfeld kind of, sort of, passive-aggressively addressed rumors that he is the mystery man with whom Geraldo Rivera clashed on Fox News’ “The Five,” making a glancing joke at the top of his show about the ousted veteran journalist and commentator’s appearance on “The View.”
Rivera gave his first TV interview Thursday since exiting Fox News, stopping by “The View” to reveal that he had “a very toxic relationship” with one of his male cohosts on “The Five.” Though Rivera didn’t name names, speculation was rampant that it was Gutfeld, with whom he regularly crossed swords.

Journalist and political commentator Geraldo Rivera has opened up about his recent exit from Fox News, sharing that his “ideology” no longer fits in with the network. Appearing on The View on Thursday, July 13, Rivera shared more details of his exit from the news network, including what led to him ultimately stepping away. “I got a call from two of the female executives, and they said, ‘You’re off The Five, but there are plenty of other things you can do,’” he explained. “I had a year and a half left on my contract. And I said, ‘Well, stuff it, if you fired me from the No.

Geraldo Rivera is opening up about his recent departure from Fox News and how a “toxic relationship” with another host on The Five played a role in his firing.
Last month, it was announced that Rivera would be leaving the afternoon panel show. But the following week, he took to Twitter to reveal that he actually quit his job at Fox News after being “fired” from The Five.
During Thursday’s appearance on The View, Rivera didn’t identify who he “had a toxic relationship” with, but when asked if he felt that it was unfair that personal issues with a colleague on the show led to his exit, he responded, “Sure.”
“I also thought it was very unfair that I was not judged objectively in our disputes, but rather that he was always favored,” he explained. “I was the one…suspended three times. My appearances, I had two, three appearances scheduled weekly,...

Congressman Matt Gaetz tried his hand at a brand of comedy that doesn’t go over well with most audiences in 2023 but is apparently fine on Fox News, pointing out Chris Christie’s weight to the delight of the in-studio audience.
Gaetz, the U.S. representative for Florida who was previously under investigation by the Department of Justice for sex trafficking and obstruction of justice, shot back at criticism Christie leveled at the House Judiciary Committee for which Gaetz is a part of as he appeared on “Hannity.”
“I’m more likely to take Chris Christie’s exercise plan than his fundraising strategy,” Gaetz quipped to the delight of a laughing studio audience.

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham joined “Jesse Watters Primetime” to torch President Joe Biden, with the notion he is not respected among foreign leaders.
On Tuesday, Biden skipped the Heads of State and Government Dinner at the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. When pressed for the reason behind his absence, an official cited Biden’s heavy workload saying he “has four full days of official business and is preparing for a big speech tomorrow in addition to another day at the summit.”
This did not go over well with Ingraham, who argued that world leaders believe Biden to be a “figurehead president.”
“We should not really be surprised that all these world leaders look past Biden,” Ingraham said.
“He is not running the country,” she continued. “He is not running anything.”

Geraldo Rivera made his first TV interview appearance since exiting Fox News on Thursday, stopping by “The View” to discuss what went down. In doing so, he revealed that he had “a very toxic relationship” with one of his male cohosts on “The Five.”
Rivera deliberately didn’t name names, though, of course, there are only two other male hosts of the Fox News talk show: Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld. Back in June, the day after Rivera announced his exit, host Alyssa Farah Griffin speculated that those tensions might be with Gutfeld, because Gutfeld would often “come after [Rivera] really personally.”
Host Sara Haines asked if that toxicity specifically came because “things got personal,” and Rivera admitted yes.
“Sure, sure. And also, I thought that it was very unfair that I was not judged objectively in our disputes, but rather he was always favored,” Rivera said, giving up the gender of the unnamed cohost.

Geraldo Rivera signed off at Fox News for good last week, and during his final appearance on the network, he praised the effects that affirmative action had on his career days after the Supreme Court struck down the college admissions policy.
Appearing during a festive sendoff on “Fox and Friends” Friday, in which his colleagues at the conservative news network donned fake mustaches with balloons in the background, Rivera noted that he was a “product of affirmative action” when one of his co-hosts asked him to reflect on how his career in broadcast news has touched the Hispanic community.
“I thank you for the for the opportunity, because affirmative action has just been voted down by the Supreme Court of the United States and a very controversial decision that will impact many people of color,” Rivera said. “I was a product of affirmative action over a half a century ago.

Geraldo Rivera’s 22-year run at Fox News appears to be coming to an end.
On Thursday afternoon, Rivera posted a video to his Twitter account filmed on a boat off the coast of Jones Beach in Long Island. In the video he told viewers, “I’ve been fired from The Five, and as a result of that I quit Fox.”
He added that he would elaborate on that decision on Fox & Friends on Friday morning.

“It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity,” Rivera wrote at the time. “Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”

Fox News went into full conspiracy theory mode Friday after two whistleblowers told Congress that IRS investigators recommended more serious charges for Hunter Biden than the tax evasion counts for which he eventually agreed to in a plea deal.

With his relationship with Fox News apparently souring, Geraldo Rivera is thinking about retirement, and said he will announce his next career move in a week on Twitter and “The Five,” the show he will exit next week.
Rivera posted on Twitter Friday that he had spoken to Brian Kilmeade on his Wabc radio show and said, “I am unsure about my next career move & will announce next Friday here on Twitter & Live on @TheFive whether I stay with Fox or do something else, with your support.”
The correspondent for the conservative news network, who was recruited by founder Roger Ailes in 2001, said June 30 will be his last appearance on the talk show.
While the post generated a few inevitable references to his ill-fated 1986 live excavation of Al Capone’s vault, most of the comments were positive.
Some followers suggested that the social media platform may be all the veteran journalist needs.

Following a Wednesday morning tweet revealing he was leaving The Five, Geraldo Rivera has issued a subsequent statement revealing he has quit the Fox News political commentary series rather than being booted. The veteran TV personality said appearing on the series was no longer “worth it to me.” The Five is a late-afternoon panelist program on Fox News that features conservative panelists Jeanine Pirro, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, and Greg Gutfeld and rotating “liberal” panelists Rivera, Jessica Tarlov, and Harold Ford Jr. The latter three have served as rotating hosts since Juan Williams left the series in 2021. The series, which has been running since 2011, boasts some of cable news’ highest ratings. “Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th,” Rivera tweeted Wednesday morning. “It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being...

After a year and a half of sitting in with The Five, Fox News Correspondent Geraldo Rivera is officially leaving the program.
The co-host broke the news himself on Twitter Wednesday writing, “I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday, June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy.”

Loquacious Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera will soon have less to talk about.
The veteran will leave his slot as one of the “liberal” panelists on “The Five,” he announced via Twitter on Wednesday, ceding ground, presumably, to Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford, Jr., the two other personalities who regularly occupy the seat on the show. “The Five” is Fox News Channel’s most-watched program, and executives are known to take a distinct interest in how the panelists mesh on screen.
“Morning, it’s official, I’m off @TheFive,” Rivera posted. “My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”
A spokesperson for Fox News could not be reached for immediate comment on Rivera’s status at the network.

Geraldo Rivera is set to leave The Five, Fox News’ afternoon panel show.
He revealed the news on social media, stating his last scheduled appearances would be on the June 29 and 30 shows. “It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity,” Rivera wrote in part. “Being odd man out isn’t always easy. For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”
Also Wednesday, during an interview with The Associated Press, Rivera explained friction in front and behind the cameras on The Five led to his decision to quit the series. “There has been a growing tension that goes beyond editorial differences and personal annoyances and gripes. It’s not worth it to me,” he said.
The Five features a rotating cast of co-hosts from across Fox’s lineup, including Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld and Jeanine Pirro, in freewheeling conversation about the issues of the day.

Geraldo Rivera is leaving “The Five,” the Fox News ratings juggernaut that features a rotation of regular hosts – including one “left-leaning” seat, which the veteran investigative journalist frequently occupied.
“Morning, it’s official, I’m off ‘The Five,'” Rivera said Wednesday, without elaborating on a reason. “My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity.”
Rivera also acknowledged the many, many times he clashed – which was the point of him being there, let’s be fair – with his more conservative Fox News co-hosts.
“Being add man out isn’t always easy,” he said. “For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”

Fox News host Jesse Watters is getting dragged online for claiming he could tell that a group of people he saw digging through bins looking for recyclables on his way to work was an “illegal immigration family.”
On the latest episode of Fox News’ roundtable talk series “The Five,” which features Watters, Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Jeanine Pirro and rotating hosts Jessica Tarlov, Geraldo Rivera and Harold Ford Jr., the group shared their thoughts on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s reported migrant busing plan. According to reports, destinations include Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and Chicago — all run Black mayors, as NYC Mayor Eric Adams pointed out.
“The mayor here is complaining about a couple thousand, with more resources than any other city in the entire country? That’s ridiculous,” Watters said. “Now, I saw on the way into work an illegal immigration family digging through the trash looking for recyclables.
