Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Netflix has taken an odd approach to promoting Elite Season 7.
We've had random teasers on social media that haven't given much of the plot away,
Now, three days before its premiere date, we have a full-length promo that teases what's on the horizon.
Off the bat, I'm not interested in going back to Las Encinas.
Bringing Omar Ayuso back made me think that a change of scenery was on the menu.
Unfortunately, that isn't the case.
We see that Omar is still trying to piece together his thoughts about Samuel's death at the end of Elite Season 5.
New cast members for Elite Season 7 include Mirela Balic, Gleb Abrosimov, Nadia Al Saidi, Fernando Líndez, Alejandro Albarracín, Iván Mendes, and Maribel Verdú.
They join Elite Season 6 cast members Valentina Zenere, Andre Lamoglia, Carmen Arrufat, Alex Pastrana, Alvaro de Juana,...

This Black History Month, we wanted to learn about the personal histories of women we admire - so we asked changemakers to tell us about a Black woman in their life who has been crucial in shaping who they are today.

Tia Mowry and her twin sister Tamera became famous on their hit show Sister, Sister in the early 90s. They played identical twin sisters separated at birth and placed for adoption. Neither of their adoptive parents knew their daughter had a twin sister. A chance encounter at the mall brought them together, bringing their single mother and father together. Their household was nothing short of unconventional, and that’s all right. A year after their hit show ended in 1999, Tia Mowry’s husband was cast alongside her in a Halloween Horror movie. They’d never met, but that was that for them.

In a first trailer for “The Game” Season 2, shared exclusively with TheWrap, players on and off the field are tested by the pro football league’s unionization efforts, which leads to confrontation, betrayals and, of course, power plays. The sophomore season of the Paramount+ revival series will premiere with two episodes on Dec. 15.
“The Game” stars Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Adriyan Rae, Vaughn Hebron, Analisa Velez and Toby Sandeman. Tamera Mowry-Housley would love to give “Sister, Sister” fans the revival they’ve been calling for, but it has to be the right idea.
During an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show”, the actress shared that she and her twin sister, Tia Mowry, have been approached with pitches to reprise their roles, but nothing has been right for them.
“Here’s the thing, Tia and I are both just booked, which is a great problem to have,” the actress began when asked whether something was in the works. “The other thing is, we have to make sure the idea is amazing because ‘Sister, Sister’ is iconic! I don’t want it to be lame.”
When Hudson stated that any revival with the sisters involved wouldn’t be lame, Tamera revealed that the duo has already heard some ideas and “it was not it — it wasn’t right.”
But there’s still hope!

Two pivotal pop culture debuts changed this mixed-race millennial. The first was in 1990, when a fresh-faced Mariah Carey sang "Vision of Love" on "MTV Unplugged." And the second came in a newspaper ad about a brand-new show featuring twins separated at birth: "Sister, Sister."
Once "twin-damonium" hit ABC, I was stirring in my Blossom hat, flannel button-down, and baggy jeans. Tamera and Tia Mowry were bubbly brown girls with a hit TV show filled with hijinks and heart - and they had curls like me! Since then, I've felt a bond with the two, as their careers took them from "Sister, Sister" to "Twitches," Tia Mowry-Hardrict to "The Game," and Tamera Mowry-Housley to an Emmy-winning turn on "The Real."
And it's with that same familiarity that I devoured Mowry-Housley's new memoir, "You Should Sit Down For This: A Memoir About Life, Wine, and Cookies." In a way only she can,...

In a sprawling takeover of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, heavy-hitting executives, producers, writers, talent and glitterati convened to celebrate the annual event and magazine feature.
Cover stars Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay, activist icon Malala Yousafzai, and actor Elizabeth Olsen were all in attendance to speak on behalf of causes important to each of them — as well as lighting a path forward to equity in a time of unrest for women and other marginalized communities in the U.S..
