Big screen shark attack sequel Meg 2: The Trench will be swimming into theaters on August 4, 2023, and today the film has received its official rating from the MPA.
Like the previous film, Meg 2: The Trench has been rated “PG-13” for…
“Action/violence, some bloody images, language and brief suggestive material.”
Last week’s bloody official trailer suggested that Meg 2 could potentially be going a bit harder on the violence than the disappointing 2018 movie, but there was realistically no way Warner Bros. was going to risk potentially cutting into the sequel’s box office profits with an “R” rating.
The good news? As the trailer suggests, there are a lot of gruesome ways a massive shark can eat people – and other monsters, including a T-Rex this time around! – while still sticking to that PG-13 rating. After all, the three Megalodon sharks in the upcoming movie are so large that they’re literally swallowing humans whole,...

Here’s hoping the most hilarious moments aren’t in the over-the-top, action-packed trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Meg 2: The Trench. The stunts have a Fast and Furious feel – they are implausible yet impressive – and the plot surpasses the first film, The Meg (2018), in terms of megalodon encounters. In the original movie, Jason Statham battled a colossal sea creature, but in the sequel, there are not one, not two, but three Megs for Statham and crew to take on.
Statham’s joined in this wild adventure by Wu Jing, Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, and Cliff Curtis.
The original The Meg was directed by Jon Turteltaub, but it’s Ben Wheatley who takes over the reins for the sequel. The Meg‘s Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, and Dean Georgaris wrote the screenplay, based on Steve Alten’s novel The Trench. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Belle Avery serve as producers,...

Steven Spielberg has said the final scene in Schindler’s List, where holocaust survivors visit the grave of Oskar Schindler, was a late addition to the pic and was his way of making sure audiences knew the film’s story was based on real-life facts.
“Holocaust denial was on the rise again — that was the entire reason I made the movie in 1993,” he told The Sunday Times during a recent interview. “That ending was a way to verify that everything in the movie was true.”
Spielberg continued to say that before Schindler’s List, he had never made a film that “so directly confronted a message” that he believed the world needed to hear.
“It had a vital message that is more important today than it even was in 1993 because antisemitism is so much worse today than it was when I made the film,” he added.

There are very good intentions at the core of America: Imagine a World Without Her, Dinesh D’Souza and John Sullivan‘s follow-up to their smash hit 2016: Obama’s America. In focusing much of their attack on Howard Zinn, the filmmakers look to rewrite history again, this time in a more positive manner. That isn’t to say the documentary is out to defend slavery or imperialism or any of the other shameful things spotlighted in “The People’s History of the United States,” but it does concentrate on how the nation has continually gotten on the right path and put its wrongdoings behind. Narrating and appearing on screen as the film’s main driving force, D’Souza implies that America is great because we did have that Civil War and eventually abolished slavery. Basically, he believes we should be celebrating the fact that we no longer treat people like property, not...

Dinesh D’Souza is pitching his upcoming film, America, to churches nationwide. In America, the conservative author and filmmaker answers critics on the left who challenge the country’s record regarding equality, war, immigration, capitalism and more. While largely political in nature, the movie also touches on Christianity, and that’s the message D’Souza is hoping to spread to churches.
