Exclusive: U.S. financier Mizzel Media has backed its second movie: indie feature Rebel Girl, starring Oscar nominee Amy Madigan (Twice in a Lifetime), newcomer Sadie Jensen-Blank (#Horror) and Erik Jensen (The Walking Dead).
New York-based Mizzel, which earlier this year invested in The Girl From Köln, the next film from Holy Spider and The Tale outfit One Two Films, is overseen by producer and veteran manager Lillian Lasalle.
Rebel Girl, currently filming in Minnesota under a SAG Ia, is being helmed by co-writing-directing team Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen with a script co-written by Han Shan.
The film will chart the story of headstrong 14-year-old Maisie (Jensen Blank) and her artist dad Kurt (Jensen) who must leave the confines of their Brooklyn bubble to return to Kurt’s Minnesotan childhood home where Maisie upends old family patterns, falls in love, and forces her family to confront each other and themselves.

Hey, "Blue Bloods" fans. Unfortunately, it's one of those times again where we have to inform you that your favorite show is about to take a small hiatus. However, this one won't last for too long, especially since we're close to the end of season 9. So, here's the deal. We have been informed that the next, new episode 20 will not be airing next Friday night, April 19,2019. No, no, no. Instead, CBS has scheduled it to air on Friday night, April 26, 2019 in its same 9pm central standard time slot. So, be sure to mark that very important date down on your TV show calendars. We don't have an exact reason for why they're doing this. We just know that they are. We're guessing it probably has something to do with scheduling. CBS probably wants the season finale to land on a certain night in May 2019. So, they're skipping a week to make sure that happens.

"If you show weakness, people will walk all over you." Do you know the story of Kitty Genovese? A trailer has debuted for the film 37, inspired by the true story of the murder of Kitty Genovese in 1964. The title refers to the 37 people who were witnesses to her rape and murder, yet did nothing to stop it. The film is told entirely from the perspectives of her apathetic neighbors in Queens, who chose not to get involved for fear of unintended consequences. The ensemble cast stars Samira Wiley, Michael Potts, Maria Dizzia, Jamie Harrold, Thomas Kopache, Lucy Martin, Adrian Martinez, Sophia Lillis, Marquise Gary and Christina Brucato as Kitty Genovese. This trailer shows promise, even though it seems so depressing. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Puk Grasten's 37, straight from Vimeo (found via Tmb): 37 is a powerful drama and a fictional account of the night Kitty Genovese was murdered in 1964, Kew Gardens,...

It's Saturday, March 13, 2010, when Dread arrives to the snowy set of director Elise Robertson's horror feature Donner Pass. Penned by Scott Adams and executive produced by Mouncey Ferguson, who financed the film, the independent feature tells the story of an unlucky group of teens who, while on a ski trip in the mountains around Lake Tahoe, encounter George Donner, an entity with a taste for human flesh, and unfortunately for the group, it's for their own.
Setting foot into the remote mountain cabin that production has secured, and at present is being utilized as base-camp, I meet associate producer Duncan Ferguson, who fills us in on the status of Donner Pass, starring John (the voice of the Crypt Keeper) Kassir as 'Epstein', Adelaide (Power Rangers R.P.M.) Kane as 'Nicole', Desiree Hall as 'Kayley', and Antonio Trischitta as 'Brody', with the cast rounded out by up-and-comers Erik Stocklin...
