Fox Entertainment has renewed its blockbuster Animation Domination slate of “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy” and “Bob’s Burgers” for an additional two seasons, president of scripted programming Michael Thorn announced.
The early renewals of the trio, hailing from Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television Animation, means that the long-running series will continue through the 2024-25 broadcast cycle. The stalwart Fox shows guarantee Seasons 14 and 15 for “Bob’s Burgers,” Seasons 22 and 23 for “Family Guy” and Seasons 35 and 36 for “The Simpsons,” which has now surpassed its own record for the longest-running scripted series in television history.

Anecdotally, when Mike Judge's animated sitcom "King of the Hill" debuted in 1997, many said it couldn't possibly last. Judge's previous animated project "Beavis and Butt-Head," many felt, was able to achieve a certain degree of cultural traction thanks to its ability to tap into a specific brand of MTV-inflected Gen-x self-mockery. In comparison, all "King of the Hill" had going for it was a gentle and affectionate ribbing of Texans. Those anecdotal naysayers were proven wrong, however, as "King of the Hill" became a smashing success, lasting for 15 seasons, and finally ending its run in September of 2009 ... and then again in 2010 when four additional new episodes aired after the finale.
"King of the Hill" followed the very, very Texan adventures of the Hill family who lived in the fictional city of Arlen. The family patriarch Hank (Judge) was uptight and square and sold propane accessories for a living.

“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” knows its recipe and sticks to it. For 12 seasons, show creator Loren Bouchard, who here co-helms with longtime producer and supervising director Bernard Derriman, has served up the cartoon sitcom antics of the daffy, working-class Belcher family who live in an unnamed town with the vibe of Pittsburgh-by-the-Sea. Hijinks hinge on their countertop diner and a few fixations that the family obsesses over like beloved worry dolls: father Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) frets about their finances, pubescent daughter Tina (Dan Mintz) drools over boys, middle child Gene (Eugene Mirman) hypes his band, The Itty Bitty Ditty Committee, and 9-year-old Louise (Kristen Schaal) cherishes her pink bunny hat. Meanwhile, mom Linda (John Roberts) cheerleads with lunatic optimism.

Linda and Mr. Fischoeder are teaming up to sing an ode to bananas in a new sneak peek at Sunday’s episode of “Bob’s Burgers,” and who doesn’t love a good duet?
With lyrics like “I like bananas in muffins and scones / I like bananas when I’m making a phone,” the song appears not to be the Hoosier Hot Shots novelty song “I Like Bananas (Because They Have No Bones),” but a completely different song about a different set of reasons to be fond of the yellow fruit.
The clip comes from Sunday’s episode “Copa-Bob-bana,” in which Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) agrees to be the temporary chef at the Fischoeders’ new nightclub. Meanwhile, the kids get a hold of a stock tank and decide to throw a pool party in the restaurant basement.

The animation domination will not be ending at Fox in the near future.
The network has renewed Bob's Burgers for the 12th and 13th broadcast seasons of the Emmy Award-winning animated series, and renewed Family Guy for its 19th and 20th broadcast seasons, carrying both series through 2023.

By taking the genre to new heights and driving pop culture in meaningful ways, they’ve laid the foundation for making Animation Domination one of the most powerful program blocks in all of television,” said Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, for Fox Entertainment.

Exclusive: Fox has locked in two of the tentpoles of its Sunday animation block for two more years. The network has renewed flagship Family Guy for Seasons 19 and 20 and the Emmy-winning Bob’s Burgers for a 12th and 13th season. The two long-running series, along with animated stalwart The Simpsons, come from 20th Television.
The Simpsons was picked up for an unprecedented 31st and 32nd seasons in early 2019 as former Fox sibling 20th TV was about to move to Disney as part of a $71.3 billion asset acquisition. I hear talks are underway on a major Simpsons renewal too.

Not only is Fox’s new poster for “Bob’s Burgers” entertaining, but it’s also educational.
The one-sheet, which Fox will pass out to fans this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, features the Belcher clan – Bob, Linda, and children Tina, Gene, and Louise – as they share a tale of “What Happens Inside You When You Eat a Burger.”
All stuff you probably learned in middle school biology. But “Bob’s Burgers” lays it all out for you in an easy-to-understand body map – from the esophagus and stomach, to the intestines and anus. And yes, you also get to learn about the “bottom burger.” Who’s hungry?

Last night, as part of the Paley Center's PaleyFest NY, Vulture's Jesse David Fox moderated a delightful panel for the delightful Bob's Burgers. The panel featured Loren Bouchard (Bob's Burgers' creator), Jim Dauterive (executive producer), H. Jon Benjamin (the voice of Bob), John Roberts (the voice of Linda), Kristen Schaal (the voice of Louise), and Larry Murphy (the voice of Teddy). The gang discussed how to properly dress as their characters for Halloween, what makes Linda and Bob the greatest couple on TV, where the characters will be in the future, if we'll meet Bob's parents, and much more. Mostly, it's an hour of the cast making fun of each other, which, as ways to spend an hour go, is pretty alright!

When there's a "Bob's Burgers" table read, it's an open secret. They aren’t advertised to the industry or the public, but a bright yellow sign ("Bob's Burgers Table Read") at the entrance to Bento Box's Burbank offices is visible from the street.Created by Loren Bouchard, best known for co-creating “Home Movies” on Adult Swim, “Bob’s Burgers” is equal parts heartfelt and cheeky, a show that tests the limits of an ordinary premise with a cast of exceedingly eccentric characters. However, “Bob’s Burgers” has a secret sauce. So how do they do it? Here is our unofficial five-step recipe for “Bob’s Burgers,” that we came up with after hanging out at a table read and chatting behind the scenes:Step 1: Bring together producers and writers that have worked together in the past. It doesn’t hurt if the show that they worked on happened to be massively successful.

Fox sure likes its burgers. The network has renewed Bob’s Burgers for a fifth season with a 22-episode order ahead of the animated comedy’s fourth-season premiere Sunday. While not a big and noisy show like Family Guy or The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers has hung in there, developing a loyal following and enjoying the support of Fox brass. Their patience was rewarded, with Bob’s Burgers becoming one of only two broadcast comedies last season to post year-over-year gains (2.3/6 in adults 18-49, up 10%). Additionally, it is among the Top 10 comedies in male demos and has landed two consecutive best animated program Emmy nominations. “Bob’s Burgers is one of those rare finds that just continues to outdo itself, creatively,” said Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. “The show has become a key member of our Sunday Animation Domination family, and we’re looking forward to attracting new fans with another season.

Though the even officially kicks off on Thursday, Friday is when Comic-Con normally shifts into high gear. The 2013 installment of the annual convention is no different, with several big ticket panels filling up the day.
Though the news was leaked early by series creator George R. R. Martin, "Game of Thrones" is on the scheduled as returning to the San Diego Comic-Con. It'll be joined by other TV standouts like "The Walking Dead," "Marvel's Agents of Shield," "Bones," "The Following," "Falling Skies," and a pilot screening and panel for "Almost Human."
As for movies, Sony and Screen Gems will have a two-hour panel that will include "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "Robocop," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" and "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones." "Veronica Mars," "Kick-Ass 2" and "Riddick" will also have a presence.

Excitement blends with anticipatory exhaustion as the first TV panels announcement for Comic-Con 2013 has appeared. This year, 20th Century Fox Television gets the nod for First Post, with newbie How I Met Your Mother saying Hi and Bye, and no joy for Glee fans as it didn’t make the 2013 cut. Here’s the press release:
Twentieth Century Fox Television will once again dominate the San Diego Comic-Con convention, with stars and creators of eleven of its highly-coveted, fan favorite shows at the world famous gathering next month. In addition to exclusive sneak peeks of its programs and panel discussions with the stars and creators of its shows, the studio will rotate an incredible line-up of talent through the newly expanded two-story Fox booth on the convention center floor, for star-studded autograph signings and exciting booth activities including distribution of exclusive 2013 Fox Fanfare Poster Tubes, collectible mini-posters, premium giveaways, DVD sales,...

For the first time ever, "How I Met Your Mother" will be at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2013. The CBS sitcom is one of 11 shows produced by 20th Century Fox Television that will feature at the big event. Other programs expected to have panels include "Bones," "The Simpsons," "Sons of Anarchy" and the new series, "Sleepy Hollow."
Most of the shows included on the list are Sdcc veterans, but "Himym" is a big exception to that. As a sitcom, it's not exactly standard fare for the big festival of all things nerdy. But the convention has increasingly become about promotion -- and "How I Met Your Mother" can use that going into its 9th and final season. The full "Himym" cast -- Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan -- are scheduled to attend, along with executive producers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Pamela Fryman.

Exclusive: Adult Swim has closed a deal with Twentieth Television for exclusive off-network cable rights to 20th Century Fox TV’s animated comedy series Bob’s Burgers, now in its third season on Fox and renewed for a fourth. The deal includes Seasons 1-3 of Bob’s Burgers, which will begin airing on Adult Swim this summer. I hear the license fee is just shy of $500,000 an episode, in line with what TBS and Adult Swim paid for Twentieth TV’s animated comedy The Cleveland Show in 2010. In addition to Cleveland, Bob’s Burgers will join two other current/former Fox animated comedies on Adult Swim, Family Guy and King Of The Hill. While not a breakout for Fox, Bob’s Burgers has been an Ok ratings performer and quickly has achieved cult status. It also has been well received by critics and landed an Emmy nomination for best animated program last year.

Fox brass has given another vote of confidence to animated comedy Bob’s Burgers with a 22-episode fourth-season order. The pickup comes on the heels of a six-script order for the comedy in August. “We love Bob’s,” said Fox chairman Kevin Reilly. “We are really proud of the way the show has grown over the past three seasons – without losing the unique voice at its core – and we know that the best is yet to come for Bob’s Burgers and its fans.” While not a breakout, Bob’s Burgers has been an Ok ratings performer and a favorite of Fox’s brass. It recently was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. Airing for the first time in the fall in the hammock 8:30 Pm slot between The Simpsons and Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers has posted the greatest year-to-year growth of any returning broadcast series in the male demos,...

The Bob’s Burgers team knows that, at Comic-Con, the limited menu of congealed cheese-topped nachos and pretzel dogs provide many potentially throat-obstructing dangers, and this year the Fox animated show is doing something about it. Vulture has obtained an exclusive first look at the Bob’s Comic-Con poster, which they've made into a step-by-step first-aid guide for chokers. We especially like the tip for handling pregnant ones. The Bob’s Burgers Comic-Con panel takes place Friday at 4 p.m., with executive producers Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive and voice cast members H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, and Kristen Schaal participating. You can get the poster for free at the Fox booth (#4313) on the convention floor.

20th Century Fox Television has announced its 2012 Comic-Con schedule, which we therefore present to you here. Not that they’re offering much that we cover here at SciFi Mafia, except for one of my top two shows. Hey Wait A Minute – Argh! No American Horror Story! Well, given that they’ll probably be shooting, and that Ryan Murphy has indicated that he’d like to keep as much of it under wraps as possible, that’s probably not a huge surprise, though it is a disappointment.
We already learned about the Fringe panel from Warner Bros last Thursday, and… that’s it for us with Fox, except for Futurama which is also produced by 20th Century Fox Television. But for those of you who watch shows that we don’t usually cover here, well, here you go:

The network announced Monday (Oct. 31) that they've placed an order for nine more episodes of the cartoon. This is in addition to the 13 new shows they already requested from producers Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive.
The series, which follows the lives of a burger joint-owning family, debuted in Jan. 2011 and finished its initial 13-episode run averaging about 5.1 million viewers. In the 18-49 demo, the series finished tied for 59th with a 2.4/6 share.
The new episodes are set to debut during mid-season. Shows will look into such oddities as Bob testing out synchronized swimming and trying out the world of food trucks.
