Bart Baker, who has amassed roughly 9 million subscribers and 2.6 billion lifetime views on his YouTube channel thanks to his parody music videos, is teaming up with live events company Mills Entertainment to embark on his first-ever tour. Dubbed Bart Baker: The Celebritease Tour, Baker will perform his favorite parodies in addition to original music. (In November, he released his first non-parody single, Drake -- which is the debut single off Baker's first original album, also called Celebritease, bowing in March).
“I’m coming at you in real life this April with a super lit show you’ve got to see to believe,” the 30-year-old said in a statement. “We’ve got your favorite parodies, we’ve got original music, we’ve got water -- cause you’re gonna get thirsty from all the dancing!"

Every year, the digital news channel What’s Trending teams up with the analysts at Tubular Labs to determine the videos, creators, channels, and brands that made the biggest impact on YouTube. The 2016 edition of that annual round-up is now live, and it’s a nice refresher of the trends that defined the online video industry over the past 12 months.
In the What’s Trending recap video of Tubular’s findings, host Shira Lazar highlights outstanding videos across 23 different categories. Her boyfriend, YouTube star and musician Bart Baker, shows up to offer some comic relief with a few snappy quips about each entry.
Between the world’s biggest soccer star, a toddler who loves toys, a giggly mom, and (of course) PewDiePie, 2016’s online video tastemakers were an interesting and diverse bunch.

YouTube parody king Bart Baker -- whose spoofs of music videos by the likes of Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus have garnered tens of millions of views apiece -- has released a new single titled Drake that marks the first drop from his as-yet-untitled debut non-parody album.
And in order to promote the single -- which is about all the reasons the budding musician wishes he were more like the famed Canadian recording artist -- Baker has once again partnered with Music Choice, a multi-platform video and music network, which will serve as the exclusive TV distribution partner for Drake. In addition to debuting the song on the flagship Music Choice channel today, the network will also play the song on its Hip Hop And R&B and Max Music channels every hour on the hour. Music Choice will also debut the lyric video for Drake and share behind-the-scenes footage on its app.

One of the key elements to success on digital platforms like YouTube is engagement with audiences. Without a strong connection to fans, creators can't expect to efficiently grow their reach, message, or even quality of content. And no one knows that better than Maker Studios' Chief Audience Officer Chris Williams.
At Maker, Williams' job is to grow the network's audience across the globe through strategies like partnerships and network development. With over 55,000 creators, Maker routinely pulls in ten billion video views per month. While Williams can claim some responsibility for helping Maker achieve those numbers, a lot of the credit can also go to Maker talent partners who work tirelessly to create content worthy of their fans' support, trust, and continued attention.

Earlier this year, we covered fitness powerhouse Beachbody's "YouTube test group," where a set of top online video creators - including Jack Douglass, Bart Baker, Olga Kay, and Shira Lazar - collectively dropped over 100 pounds and 85 inches by way of Tony Horton's P90 program. The before and after photos seemed too good to be true—commenters cried 'air brush' and 'spray tan.' So when we caught wind of a new class of YouTubers for Beachbody's 21 Day Fix Extreme program with trainer Autumn Calabrese, we had to get an inside look at the process to make sure it was legit.
The new group underwent back-to-back twenty-one day programs and featured Jennifer Veal, SourceFed stars Lee Newton and Steve Zaragoza, Timothy DeLaGhetto, Rick Carter, Shane Dawson, and yours truly. Now the last time I covered a story as an embedded journalist, I did a ridealong with the Good Cops, and things went horribly wrong.

Stuck in development hell for years, comedy drama Honeymoon With Harry has at last been given a new lease of life. Per Deadline, New Line Cinema has brought fresh blood aboard the ten-year old property in the hopes of making production a reality. First up, the studio’s roped in Crazy, Stupid, Love scribe Dan Fogelman to punch up the script and is expected to secure Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro in the two lead roles.
Judging by the synopsis offered by the outlet, the movie sounds like perfect awards fodder – that perfect hybrid of tragedy and comedy – ripe for Academy consideration. The prior working relationship between Cooper and De Niro, who collaborated on Limitless and The Silver Linings Playbook, ought to make Cooper’s transition behind the camera a lot smoother as well. While neither have confirmed their involvement, if Cooper signs on he’ll be working double...

Exclusive: After nearly a decade of trying and failing to get to the altar on Honeymoon With Harry, New Line has hired Crazy, Stupid, Love scribe Dan Fogelman to redraft the comedy as a star vehicle for American Sniper‘s Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. No deal with those two yet, but they are keen to work together again and this is a project they are both sweet on.
Fogelman is a high-priced writer and what he writes usually gets made, so the message here is that New Line is serious about moving forward. Cooper has long been intrigued with playing a formerly self-centered womanizing booze-hound who changed his ways when he met a girl and fell in love. He’s loathed by the girl’s dad, who recognizes himself in the young man. They get engaged anyway. When she dies tragically just before their wedding, the devastated groom...

On July 21st, "Weird Al" Yankovic finished up his #8videos8days project through the Wall Street Journal, where he released a music video for "Mission Statement", a song about business jargon. That video wrapped up an impressive week for Weird Al. His decision to scatter new material all over the web made him a hot topic on the Internet, and his forward-thinking approach has drawn plenty of commentary. At the same time, there seem to be a few aspects of the Weird Al discussion that aren't drawing enough chatter. In particular, much of the talk around Weird Al's #8videos8days project reduces him to a parody trailblazer who is attempting to reclaim his appeal on an Internet replete with imitators. This is a big part of the discussion, but Weird Al's unique distribution strategy offers some tips for any artist--big or small, serious or not--who wishes to effectively...

YouTube's 2013 Rewind pretty much covered all of the big videos of the year, but What's Trending has dug a little deeper. Shira Lazar's YouTube channel teamed up with Tubular Labs to award 15 videos, channels, and creators that were particularly popular over the past year. Tubular, which officially launched in august as an analytics platform aimed at YouTube creators, provided the data for the 'awards', which were spread across a number of different categories. There were no trophies involved; instead, What's Trending and Tubular chose to use the results to discuss the big trends of the past year. The usual suspects are all there: PewDiePie, The Harlem Shake, 'The Fox', Psy, etc. With popularity as the deciding metric, there were a winners who probably don't deserve their plaudits (seriously, there were so many better prank videos in 2013 than Roman Atwood's backfiring anniversary prank), but I'm glad to see a few...

After the critical darling that was "Rachel Getting Married," Jenny Lumet and Jonathan Demme are set to reunite on "Honeymoon With Harry," a project that first came to light last fall. Showbiz411 spoke to Lumet who confirmed that the duo are plotting a reteaming which will again see Lumet writing and Demme behind the camera. Paul Haggis wrote the original draft, based on a still-unpublished novel by Bart Baker, and sold it to New Line back in 2004. And while she doesn't name the project to Friedman, last year trade publications confirmed that Lumet came on board to rewrite. The…...

Honeymoon with Harry. How does this sound? Well, if you ask us – good enough when you have Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper and director Jonathan Demme involved in the whole thing!
The film is described as a “James Brooks style” story of two characters who hate each other and are stuck together out of desperation, and it’s based on an unpublished novel by Bart Baker.
Yes, we’re very interested in this kind of stories, and if you like the sound of that, check out the rest of the synopsis:
“Cooper read the role of a formerly self-centered womanizing booze-hound who changed his ways when he met a girl and fell in love.
De Niro read the role of the girl’s father, who recognizes himself in the young man, and tries to break them up. They get engaged anyway.
When she dies tragically just before their wedding, the...

Paul Haggis is like that guy who did something nice for you that one time, and now thinks it would be totally cool if he moved into your basement and co-opted all your friends. If the film industry were The Houseguest, Paul Haggis would be its Sinbad. It was really sweet of him to be partially responsible for the best James Bond film of the last 30 years (and the indignant letter in which he publicly resigned from the Church of Scientology will probably go down as the finest thing he ever writes), but leave the man to his own devices and the next thing you know you're 8 hours deep In The Valley of Elah, a horrifying place where the only thing heavier than the metaphors is... no, there's nothing heavier than the metaphors.
So it's been hard for me to work up much enthusiasm about Honeymoon with Harry, a Paul Haggis...

Jonathan Demme ("Rachel Getting Married") is circling to direct, while Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper recent read for the long-gestating "Honeymoon With Harry" for New Line reports Deadline.
Cooper would play a former womanizing booze-hound who changed his ways when he fell in love, while De Niro would play the girl’s father who tries to break them up. When she dies just before their wedding, the groom heads off on their honeymoon to drink himself to death and meets his almost father-in-law who has come to spread his daughter’s ashes.
Paul Haggis adapted the script from an unpublished novel by Bart Baker back in 2004 and the film has often been considered one of the best 'unmade' films of recent years. The tone is said to mix strong comedy and drama ala James L. Brooks.

It looks like Robert De Niro could reprise his over-protective father role, made famous in Meet The Parents. According to Deadline, De Niro is attached to Honeymoon With Harry, with Bradley Cooper in line to play the titular role.
However, this isn't the laff-fest that one might expect from the above statement. In fact, Honeymoon With Harry, written by Paul Haggis and to be directed by Jonathan Demme, is an unusual blend of comedy and tragedy. The film tells the tale of a boozehound lothario (Cooper) who decides to settle down after he falls in love with a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, the woman's father (De Niro) decides this will not do, and attempts to break them up. The happy couple remain undeterred, however, and decide to get married nonetheless. Tragedy then strikes when Cooper's fiancé suddenly dies before the wedding - he goes on the honeymoon regardless, intending to drink himself into an early grave,...
